On March 12, 2022, I visited the Tomball store located in Houston, TX. I made a purchase of a dining room table and chair set, paying in full using my debit card. I was informed it would be about two weeks for delivery.
Thursday March 15, I received a text indicating my items were ready for scheduling, and that I had one of three options for a delivery date. I opted for the first available. Notification was sent back that I would receive 3-hour window 2 days prior to the delivery date. On Saturday March 19, another text was sent indicating that my items are scheduled for delivery on March 24, 2022. While this was not my selection from the text that was sent on Saturday, it still allowed me time to adjust in my schedule. The morning of Monday March 21, I received a text, email and phone call indicating that my items were scheduled for delivery on Thursday March 24, 2022, and letting me know I would get another text requesting that I confirm the delivery window. Tuesday evening the confirmation text was sent, still set for Thursday and time window was for 2pm-5pm. I received the auto phone call, the SMS text, and the e-mail, I confirmed both via the text and from the e-mail.
March 24, 2022, I am home during the scheduled time window. I call the number that was provided on the SMS text to confirm that I am in fact on schedule, the automated system states that my items are set for delivery on Thursday, that my time window is still 2-5pm and was so kind to let me know the weather during the delivery time. This call was made at 4:15pm. At 5:02 I was concerned since I was past the delivery window, and no one had reached out to me yet to let me know they were on their way, so I called the same number back again, the prompt STILL indicated that I was on schedule for Thursday with the same time window. I selected the option to speak to a guest response team member.
During the call with the first agent, I was only provided his name (Ricardo)the supervisor stated that this individual did not have an agent ID assigned to him yet, I was informed that my items were not being delivered due to the truck breaking down. I asked why I was not contacted earlier about issues verses me having to reach out and being told 15 mins after my deliver window. He stated it was because the system had just updated with that information. I expressed how dissatisfied I was about having to wait the time slot and that no one had reached out to me (I would have expected the driver to have made contact to inform me at the very least). The agent then said that he could offer $150 gift card for inconvenience and that my items were being rescheduled for Friday and that I would receive a text this morning when they would be arriving. I requested that I be first on the stop since I was having to readjust my schedule at the last moment and unable to give proper notice to my employer. He said the best he could do is to only make a note on the account and the warehouse could make the decision from them. I stated I was still unhappy over the situation, the agent offered gift cards in the amount of $250. I asked why I could not just have an amount refunded back to my original form of payment, and he stated that a refund of any amount simply could not be done. I was placed on hold a second time, at this point when Ricardo returned to the line, I was told that the truth was that my order was cancelled Thursday morning!
So, at this point, I have been lied to about my items being out for delivery, both by SMS text, email, phone call the automated system and now the guest response agent. The agent proceeded to flat out lie about the truck breaking down and lie once more about my items being rescheduled for Friday.
If I had accepted this answer, I would have lost a day at work, waiting around for items that would never arrive. As a single mother, I cannot afford to just miss work.
I asked to speak to a supervisor, since at this point Ricardo was attempting to end the call without proper resolution. I was told that he would have someone reach back out to me in a short while. At this time, I have lost trust in any promises that were made. I requested to hold for someone.
After a few moments, Luis (ID 100338) answered the phone, he stated the reason I had the schedule notifications is because Ashley does this with the intensions the items will make it to the warehouse by that date. In my situation the items were not at the warehouse. I asked why I was not informed at some point during the day that I was not on schedule, and he could not provide a solid answer as to why. Additionally, if my items were not available for deliver, why was a e-mail, text or phone call and the automated system updated? Luis stated that my items were not even scheduled to be at the warehouse until April 1st. and that I would have another delivery date once they were psychically in the warehouse. At this point I have spent nearly an hour on the phone with the back and forth with both peo read more
