Was looking for a new mattress cause it was getting ridiculous how quickly our store bought…read moremattresses would sink - the beauty rest, the luxury hotel lines.. they just don't last very long before they start giving us back pain again. So we decided to go the custom mattress route; why not support a local business that has been around for years?! That's where Houston Mattress Factory comes in! We found it online and saw some amazing reviews! Decided to go check it out. The outside of the building - very run down. We actually thought about leaving cause 1. It didn't look open and 2. It looked way sketchy! But decided to get out of the car and check it out anyways! And glad we did! The guy working the store, I'm sure it was the owner, was super friendly! We told him what we wanted and he knew exactly where to point us. There were mattresses set up for us to lay in and try.. from that, he got a sense of what we wanted and told us he could make us exactly what we liked, using the materials that we wanted! You can customize the firmness, the material used to wrap the mattress, if you want added foam topper or gel topper.. anything you want! You can even wrap the thing in cashmere if you want!! Lol definitely for the added price but the option is there! We even saw a round bed! Adjustable moving mattresses? Murphy beds? No problem! We got us a firm mattress and he promised he could make it within the week! And he delivered exactly when he said he would! Prices are not horrible; we didn't mind spending slightly more for something that would potentially last longer. He said if we didn't like it, just bring it back and he'll make it right! Just no refunds, cause once the money goes in his wife's wallet, she ain't giving it back! Hah! He definitely liked joking around! He also said that if he mattress starts going soft for sinking anytime within the next 10 years, even if it's 9.5 years, bring it back and he'll cut a hole in it and replace the foam for free!!

Welcome to Alice's Restaurant - you can get anything you want!…read more I described what we wanted and got it. Not only did I get something that hasn't been available in department or chain mattress stores for years (a plain polyfoam, not memory foam, mattress, with good quality foam), I got it for less than half the price we paid for our last (memory foam) mattress, from a chain store, a quite number of years (I think over a decade) ago. The mattress is well made and exactly what we like to sleep on - and did sleep on for decades until the department and chain mattress stores (we did not know about mattress factories at the time) stopped carrying it. I chose the firmness with the intention of putting a latex topper on it, which I did, and it's perfect. I personally think plain polyfoam with a latex topper is the only thing to sleep on (I regard attached pillowtops as a scam to see to it that the mattress lasts a shorter time than it could), but this place can make you whatever, I mean ABSOLUTELY WHATEVER, you want - I saw a *lot* of the sample "whatevers"! Oh, and we got some very nice latex pillows (another item in the category of "only thing we sleep on") for a very nice price. Don't be put off by the area or the looks of the place - I'm glad I wasn't. And I'll never buy a mattress from other than a local mattress factory again. Fabulous Experience!…read more It's always tedious and challenging to go mattress shopping. But the owners (John and Karen) of Verlo Mattress are really dedicated to assuring their customers receive the mattress they need and take the time to patiently educate the customer. And just imagine - the mattresses are assembled right here in Houston in their store, can be customized to your preference, and are reasonably priced. Another unique feature is the ability to be able to "replace parts" in the future should you have concerns about maintaining the firmness you need over the years. Very impressed and already enjoying waking up well-rested after a comfortable sleep! Highly recommended.

Been purchasing from here for years and ABSOLUTELY loved this furniture store. Customer service has…read morealways been excellent. Until about a year ago March 2023 I purchased a bed with led lights attached to it. March 2024 I contacted the store multiple times and no one answered. I finally was able to get an answer and told them that a side of the bed was damaged. The man that answered the phone said that he would call me back in a few days with an answer. After a week of no answer I fixed the problem. Now we are in june 2024 and the problem was not fixed it got worse. I once again kept reaching out without getting an answer. Me and the dude were communicating but he still wouldn't give me a day. It would be by the end of the week. The end of the week came and then it changed to next week. The next week come and i'm calling and texting NO RESPONSE. So what do i do ? I went up there. After leaving the building I receive the messages attached. The man told me that he didn't know if they would charge so where he says "I'm not charging you" is a lie. If the piece costed I wouldn't have minded ! "We didn't deliver the bed in this condition " like sir i called and asked for a part. Whether I had to pay for it or not I did not care. "Now I told you I could help but I really don't have to do anything because i'm not responsible for your stuff"? CAN ANYONE PLEASE TELL ME WHERE DO YOU GET THE PARTS FROM ON A BED YOU HAVE ???? YOU GO TO THE PLACE YOU BOUGHT THE BED FROM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!' I JUST WANTED MY BED FIXED AND KEPT GETTING THE RUN AROUND. I just needed a part. The only place I could get the part is the place I bought the bed from. I can't go to walmart and ask for a part when they never sold the bed!!!!! Dani was VERY UNPROFESSIONAL to text my phone and i'm a continuously customer. For one simple thing that could've been communicated he lost 6 customers in 1 day. Simple communication would have fixed so many problems. Had I not showed up to the store I wouldn't have gotten a response or the pieces for my bed.

DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS BUSINESS!…read more My sister and I purchased a sectional from this establishment in May 2024. Almost a year later, we are still without a couch and the ability to make our house a home. Shopping at Lone Star and with the sales manger Courvoisier was pleasant and a breeze, but beware of the wolves here in sheep's clothing! We have attempted to contact Courvoisier and Jonathan (owner) multiple times outside of public platforms to rectify this issue, and have even received a judgement in court in which the grifters also are evading. At this point, we've suffered a greater loss than just a poorly constructed sectional, but court fees, our time and sanity as well. Please allow our pain to be an example and save yourselves the despair by NOT conducting business with Lone Star Mattress & Furniture, and opt for an honest local business instead.
