I guess I should have read the reviews before shopping here because my experience with their ABHORRENT (I am using the strong word choice intentionally) customer service is consistent with what other reviewers have described. I am writing this review fully expecting the store to do nothing about it, but hoping future shoppers will reconsider before visiting this location. PLEASE READ THIS PART: make sure you don't let the delivery person leave until you are fully satisfied with your purchase. The store will not pick up returns/exchanges once the driver leaves. They may, in all their excitement of taking your thousands of dollars, forget to mention this less common, but absolutely crucial policy. I was sold a mattress and given the choice of two different size foundations to choose from, I made a decision in the store and that was that. This was my first time buying a mattress with Ashley. When the delivery showed up and placed my mattress and bed foundation, I immediately remarked that the foundation was not as I had hoped and asked the delivery people if there was another option I could choose. They told me to call the store because there was another option I could choose (a bunkie board, which I was not told was an option) and they rushed out as quickly as they could. The delivery happened at night when the store was closed, so I waited and reached out to my salesperson (Ara) the next morning to let him know that I would like an exchange. He quickly and abruptly let me know that there was nothing he could do for me since the drivers had already left. I was frustrated that he didn't try to work with me or explain anything, so I reached out to the store manager (Mehdi) who told me about the store policy where they don't do exchanges or returns after the delivery had been signed for--this was the first I was hearing about this policy. When I tried to explain to the store manager that I wasn't made aware of the policy and therefore could not have known not to accept the delivery, he didn't care much either. He tried to offer me a $100 gift card to purchase another $200 foundation. I hope understandably, I was extremely frustrated that in the 2 hours I spent at the store signing papers and making a rather sizable purchase, they didn't care to mention this policy even once. I thought I'd try reaching out to corporate for further assistance, but that was a huge joke too. Its now been almost a whole month of me hearing that someone will follow up with me or contact me to try to resolve this, and NOT ONCE has anyone from Ashley Homestore called me. Any interaction I've had is by tracking down numbers and departments on my own and spending time explaining the same story to 4 or 5 different departments, while they passed me on to the next, with no intention of helping resolve anything. With so many other options available, I would try going to a more reputable furniture store to guarantee that you are getting your money's worth. read more

We ordered many things from Ashley. A bedroom set consisting of head board, foot board, night stands, and 5 drawer chest; we also got a living room set consisting of a love seat, recliner, and a couch; as well as an entertainment center. When the delivery guys delivered it, he did not know what he was delivering. My battery packs for my chairs were no where to be found so we had to make a special trip to the store to get them. They failed to bring my head board and foot board but were sure to bring the railings. They put together my entertainment center and one guy put it on backwards and after informing him quite a few times about the mess up he got an attitude and finally decided to fix it. They also brought me a broken chair and told me I had to refuse it because it was broke. They loaded the chair back up and then later on said we had to keep it and the delivery guy got an attitude with me when he had to unload it from the truck. When they finished, they just left with no one knowing. I will never use Ashley again, and will be sure not to recommend. read more

There was a salesman that stalked me the whole time I was there. I told him twice that I was just looking around and that I would find him if I had any questions. He still wouldn't leave me alone. He said, "This is how we do it. This is my job. Have you ever been in sales?" When I said I was leaving, he gave me an overly enthusiastic and sarcastic, "Okay!" I asked to talk to the manger and while I did, the salesman just stood there staring at me and didn't say a word. Really creepy. I bought the living room deal for 1300. It was a great deal and I love my furniture however they messed up my order two times. I ordered a sectional sofa and was delivered two chaises instead of the chaise and the sofa then when I went to the store to correct it the manager had the same sales associate who messed up the first order get the skew for the correct item... Sure enough on the second attempt instead of delivering a chocolate colored sofa they delivered a grey sofa obviously I didn't even take the grey sofa and told the delivery guy to take it back then finally on the third delivery I go my last piece this took 3 weeks. If I could give 0 stars I would! If you want an experience to totally stress you out and completely ruin your idea of honest salesman than go here. First sofa we selected, we were reassured it would definitely fit after giving them the measurements of our door - guess what ? Nope it didn't - had to drive the hour back to the store to "re select" to avoid the 20% fee for restocking - we re selected a sectional to make sure it fit in our door - I wasn't able to be home for the delivery so a key was left at my front desk. After another two weeks of waiting after our first selection , I came home after a very long day of teaching to find they sent the wrong sofa - called on disbelief and yup, they confirmed that my correct sofa was on file and yet I have this wrong sofa in my living room- 7 months pregnant and I'm beside myself in frustration and anger to deal with such incompetence and rudeness when I informed them of their mistake - playing the blame game and of course they pushed the blame onto anyone else BUT them! AND now I am stuck waiting again and having to make yet another elevator reservation to get the correct sofa delivered . So f*%+#ing over this company , and their obsession with commission and not focusing on avoiding these mistakes . read more

The furniture here was very reasonable. I was given an exact window of when they were going to deliver. They drove from Colton to Simi Valley and it took them 2 1/2 hours to get to my house with traffic. The employees were very professional and went above and beyond their job duty. Every piece was wrapped, they set up all my furniture and they cleaned everything up before they left. I was extremely happy with their service. Would highly recommend read more

DO NOT BUY AT ASHLEY'S!!!! We purchased a desk there July 18. While in the store we noticed that the draws in the display desk were not lined up correctly. We were told that our new desk would be perfect condition. When our desk was delivered, the draws on it were also not lined up correctly, We called an talked to customer service and was told that they would send out a repair person. A few day's later he can and took a look at the draws and told us that he overheard at the store that this desk had a problem with draws not lining up, it was a manufacturer problem. He said that they have ordered new draws and they would be delivered to us soon. Today, almost a month after purchase we received the replacement draws, opened the first box, that draw was in worse shape than the first. We decided to call Ashley and tell them to come pick up the desk, that we would not accept such poor workmanship on a product. We were told that they have a NO REFUND POLICY and would not take the desk back. I decided to call our credit card company and refuse to pay for something that is not built well. I purchased a dining room set in January after multiple calls from the customer service department stating that my server was on backorder and now I would not receive it until April 2015 I was EXTREMELY unsatisfied with Ashley Furniture. I called Eli at the Burbank store where I made my purchase and expressed my dissatisfaction and how I felt, he made a few calls and within an hour he called me back with a resolution... not only that but 2 days later I had my server DELIVERED to my home to complete my dining room set I had purchased. THAT is what you call CUSTOMER SERVICE and that is the type of person you want working for your company, its people like ELI that take pride in their work and keep your customers coming back to shop with you. For starters, I'm only giving this store 1 star because I can't give them zero. But the customer service in this building is beyond awful. My boyfriend & I went in today with the intention of purchasing well over $4k in furniture, however, when we walked in, we immediately felt out of place. Not one salesperson spoke to us. Every single salesperson looked at us from head to toe, failing to speak at all. Then one of the female salespeople followed us throughout the store & said nothing. Just followed us. This was the last straw for me, however, my boyfriend wanted to continue to shop. This Lady continued to follow us around the store, still not speaking, until I got to the point where I asked her if she needed anything, she walked away. The racial profiling in this store was unreal. Had we just received a decent customer experience, they probably would have made their quota. Worst company to deal with ...empty promises after another . Garbage furniture with garbage employees work for the garbage company. I hate this place so much cause thy make my life a living hell. Honestly even if the employees treat you decently, don't buy products from this store. You will learn over time that someone at this store is trying to screw you over. Even if your salesman was nice it's taking a huge risk assuming that there won't be a problem with the furniture, you won't be charged inappropriately, you won't want to return the item (which you apparently are not allowed to at this crazy store), and you won't be lied to. Because if any of these things happen you will find your "nice" salesman won't be able to help you when the manager tells you their policies do not allow him to honor the promises that SEVERAL other employees made to you. If I could give this store 0 stars I would. They sold us two sofas under false pretenses. When we spoke to the manager Medi/ Mendi, before even saying a word to him, he approached us extremely hostile and aggressively and after we got a chance to explain our situation, he acted very rude and again gave us false promises. He put Rashaan as the sales guy to help us out and everytime he would approach him for a question he just yelled at him infront of customers. That " manager" should not work there at all. He does not know anything about customer service or has any people skills the guy even refused to give us their corporate number. If u need to purchase any furniture avoid this particular location. All they do is lie to you until you make the purchase and end up screwing you when there is an issue with the products you purchased. KC was great. But management is TERRIBLE. I have been trying to speak to a manager about a return for weeks, with no reply. Every time you call the store, they either put you on hold for 30+ minutes or they don't bother answering. When I have been able to get someone on the phone, they tell me the manager will have to call me back, but no one ever does. I did once actually get to speak to a manager who told me he would get back to me no later than two business days. It's now been a week and I'm still waiting. We spent $5k at this store and can't even get a call back. So unprofessional and beyond frustrating! read more

AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!! My daughter and I went in to the Burbank store last Sunday looking to purchase a dining set. A sales woman named Edith Rodriguez helped us. The set we bought was not physically at the store but she showed it to us on the internet. After I paid for furniture and got my delivery date I noticed there was a matching credenza. I asked to add this to my order but sales lady said just call me tomorrow on my cell phone number and I'll add it to your order so you don't have to wait. So Monday morning I called her to add to my order and left a message. I called and left 4 messages that day. Then I called Tuesday and Wednesday with no answer or return call back. Wednesday I decided to call the store regarding adding the credenza and no one picked up the phone until 10:15 and store opens at 10:00. When a girl finally answered I asked why they aren't answering their phones she very rudely said we are short staffed. Then she told me I couldn't order it over phone and needed to come in store to add it to my order. Today I called to ask for the measurements of credenza and again no one answered the phone until 10:20 and when he did he didn't speak English well and didn't understand what I wanted. I asked him to transfer me to someone else and he left me on hold and never returned. I then tried to call store back for OVER AN HOUR AND NO ONE PICKED UP PHONE!! So I tried calling 1 800 number and girl gave me measurements and was very helpful. I call store back and at 11:15 girl finally answered and was EXTREMELY RUDE SAYING THAT ARE SHORT STAFFED AND DON'T HAVE TIME TO ANSWER THE PHONES. The worst customer service. The sales person was horrible. She seemed annoyed because I did not make a decision the first time. When I went to purchase the second time, the manager said someone would be with me and I waited 20 mins. I finally purchased my couch and they gave m two delivery dates that were two weeks apart. When my first delivery came the pieces were dirty and a cushion was missing. The deliver guy said it would be with the next shipment. Finally, my second delivery came and the delivery told me that I should unpack the couch out of the package because his hands were dirty. My fiance and I were literally opening the plastic and setting the couch up. Then we found out the back cushion was still missing. When the deliver guy called it into the office, the person on the line started arguing with him. Finally, they said they would order it. To top it off that night I found my puppy playing with something and it was the knife that the delivery driver had. I paid cash for my items and I am very upset. I put in a complaint to management and still heard nothing. Not my first purchase, but definitely my last! read more

Customer service / corporate service is a nightmare!!!! There's no one willing to give assistance to resolve issues. Customer service reps don't want to transfer calls to management, they are too busy with complaints. Well if service improved, you wouldn't have high volume of complaints. I purchased a bedroom set for my daughter who lives 45 miles away. Delivery service was suppose to include assembly and installation / set up. When the delivery scheduling department called, they said the assembly/ set up was not included although I paid for the service. I had to drive 45 miles away for a data entry correction at the store where I purchased the furniture. The day the delivery arrived, it STILL was not accurate, to top it off, some furniture was damaged and the delivery schedule for the replacement was done without them contacting anyone to confirm we'll be available. Any time I call the corporate customer service line, they say it's not their problem, it's a store level issue and the store personal say it's a corporate issue to ensure the delivery information is accurate. I have an additional delivery expected so definitely not looking forward to that mess. read more

Very rude and strange. I tried to buy furniture at this store today because I need furniture that is in stock - even display models if that's all they have available - that can be delivered without a several week delay. I have an empty one bedroom apartment that needs furniture as soon as possible. In preparation for my visit, I used the Ashley online site to give me an idea of what I might want or find. I very politely asked a tall gentleman if he could help me find an item which I displayed on my phone from the Ashley site. He barely looked at the item and said, "No, we don't have anything. Order online" and walked away. I even tried to continue to say there are other items I need too, but he just continued to walk away. I don't know if he was offended that I looked online first because I know each Ashley store is a separate franchise or if he thought I was just going to look and then shop online or what? Had he taken a moment with me, I would have bought a complete bedroom set including mattress, living room set, dining room set, lamps and other home décor. SHOPPER BEWARE!!! My girlfriend and I went in to Ashley Furniture in Burbank to look for a living room set. A saleswoman named Sue greeted us and asked us if we'd like to qualify for a 12 month no interest financing promotion. We applied for the line of credit at a kiosk and while we were reading the terms of the credit card, Sue came behind my girlfriend and pressed "next" several times not allowing us to read the terms of the agreement. She opened a line of credit for my girlfriend without our permission! I kept asking for her to supply us with documentation about this 12 month promotion and neither her or the store manager could do so. So, we politely said "no thanks" and left. 3 days later we have thousands of dollars worth of furniture on the way to the house that we didn't buy! I encountered a rude, unhelpful salesman here. When I tried to explain to him the challenge I was having finding furniture for a smaller bedroom, he just said "Huh" and wandered off, uninterested. Later, when I wanted to write down the dimensions of two particular pieces, I asked the same rep if I could borrow a pen. He seemed very put out and then handed me a pen and snarled, "I'm gonna want that back." Wow. I couldn't get out of there fast enough. I went to Living Spaces a few days later, and the salesman (who said he doesn't work on commission) was very nice -- he showed me several options and spent a lot of time assisting me. My husband and I purchased a Queen Porter bed set. We purchased that one specifically because it had rounded edges on the foot board. What received was dark wood and sharp edges. Burbank, CA didn't up date their product on their floor!! It's been a year and a half and the store manager ELI is still having us go through hoops to get atleast rounded edges on the foot board. This was my husband and I's first adukt bedroom set and it has been a nightmare!! I was in my last trimester of pregnancy when we purchased it and got gouged from the sharp corners every time I got put of bed, which for a pregnant lady...is several times in the night!! $2,000 for a bed that we didn't purchase!! Couches are sunk in pillows are flat after just 1 year..we purchased the extended warranty which we were told by the sales rep that everything was covered, but once we filed a claim it was denied and they will not refund our warranty since we cannot use it. Do not purchase from this company. EVER! Buyer be warned. Customer service takes literally 1-2 hours on hold to reach someone. Once you have a person to assist they give you the runaround. We bought their "top of the line" mattress from the Burbank CA store and within a year it started collapsing. We are Not aren't huge people so this shouldn't happen to a new mattress and when asked to replace it they asked us to file a report, have one of their service tech's come look at it (he was to arrive latest 12-6pm and he arrived at 730pm) and report back that it's defective. He confirmed that it's defective and said he would put it in the report. I call customer service since I haven't heard from this crummy company for 5 weeks on the results (Holding for 1.5 hours again) to tell me his report wasn't quantitative enough and they will send another. What the.....It's been 4 months of this. They won't refund the money. They insist that we follow their process. I'll never ever buy anything from this company again. I'm just sorry that I invested $10K of our hard-earned month with Ashley Home Store. What a farce. Sham company. Don't buy please, it will save you months of headaches read more

Ashley HomeStore has rescheduled my delivery 2 times. I'm told my sofa has not passed inspection. The other furniture arrived on schedule but I haven't received my sofa. It has been 2 months! They will not tell me when it will be shipped or why it cannot pass inspection. I am so frustrated with Ashley. I was told my first delivery would arrive between 10 and 1, the delivery came at 3. The next scheduled delivery I was told between 11 and 2. I was contacted at 10:45 and told my sofa didn't pass again! When I call, I get no answers! read more
