This place from the outside looked a little sketchy and we almost missed it because it was so dark. It had that old school bowling alley vibes, although the bathroom looked like it was the most updated area. We were apart of a private party that had bought out the lanes which was nice because we didn't have to wait. So I can't speak for pricing on the games or food. I've had some decent food at other bowling alleys, (quesadillas, grilled cheeses and simple things) But the food was extremely underwhelming. I understand that it's not going to be gourmet or anything high end, but everything was just so dry, overcooked and plain. I could not enjoy the mozzarella sticks or even the tenders bc they were not enjoyable. I will say we didn't have any issues with the lanes at all, balls or lanes never got stuck which was nice. The staff were also friendly so they the experience better. I've just been to better bowling alleys in other states. Not sure if I will come back but I did at least enjoy the actual bowling aspect with friends. read more

Came on a Tuesday. Regular happy hour special 4-7. About $45 for 3 people, 2 games. Wings were crispy. (Teriyaki with side of lemon pepper seasoning sprinkled on top is pictured) They have Jell-O shots if you like those. The specialty cocktail list looked pretty good as well. All staff members were very nice and friendly! They allowed us to finish our game even though they were closing. Nice place to hang out and bowl with friends and family. Really enjoy the Ashley Lanes set up. You can bowl, drink, eat, or just hang and watch people bowl. AL has done a SPECTACULAR job of maximizing their staff and price point. It took us a second to get the hang of the flow, but after we had a few drinks, we ordered some cheese sticks and wings. Both (again, at this price point) were dynamite. You simply roll up to the pickup window when your number is called and then you can meander back to your lane. We appreciate the seasoned bartender walking us through the process. The Lanes' overall vibe is friendly and polite, which we appreciate. Bowlers can be WAY too serious, especially when there's a lot of background noise, but everyone was cool, bowled well, and enjoyed their evening. read more

Last minute, we tried to find a bowling alley with open lanes on a Saturday afternoon. Unknown to us was just how popular bowling is in Charleston! Everything was booked up for the entire night from 3:30 pm onwards except Ashley Lanes, which is first come first serve which is how we ended up here. Despite the poor reviews I was impressed with the relatively large and clean bar area. I chowed down on some buffalo wings and thought they were a perfect balance of flavor and crispiness. I did wish for more celery, and some carrot sticks! The beer was well priced. The bowling alley itself is pretty standard. It was packed full of millions of kids and we had some occasional issues with the ball return, issues with the scoreboard, etc but staff was able to fix those minor problems for us. The parking lot is large. If you don't like kids and are looking for a rowdy adults only night, this is probably not the place for you! read more

I was pleasantly surprised when I came here for a team building event. The place was a lot nicer inside than I'd expected. The service was great and we all had a great time bowling. The food however left something to be desired. I threw most of the chicken finger basket away. The fries were ok but the chicken was inedible but I guess you shouldn't expect too much from a bowling alley's restaurant. I'll definitely be back! But just to bowl next time :) read more

The day after Thanksgiving our crew had planned a bowling day....we hadn't done this since the kids were young. After we picked up our Christmas tree at Cardinals, we headed to Ashley Lanes as they were opening. Great timing, as the place filled quickly. There were 9 of us, needing shoes, and 2 lanes, one with bumpers to give our grandson a leg up. The gentleman at the counter was friendly and very helpful. We also enjoyed the obligatory bowling alley food. The kids got tots, hushpuppies, and wings. I didn't try it, but everyone else in our group was happy with the quality of their little feast! We had an absolute blast and I know we could possibly want to make this an annual family event. Glad to still have what some would consider old fashioned fun!! read more

Not much to say here... it's a bowling alley. There's nothing exciting about it and I've definitely been to better ones. They could definitely use some sprucing up and maybe a deep clean. We had a group on a couple lanes. Check in was easy and we had one person pay and then sent venmo so that made payment go smooth as well. We bowled on a Sunday, so keep this in mind. I have no way of telling what the other days of the week are like. Well it's absolutely nothing to look at from the outside, and I was skeptical. But as it turns out the inside is a clean an organized of a bowling alley as I've ever seen. I was my daughters birthday event that she had selected. They allowed us to bring in a cakes, plates, and utensils; nothing else is allowed in as far as food. They have a restaurant the serve nachos, burgers, etc. as well as a fairly well stocked bar(tavern is what they called it. We purchased sodas, nachos, and I think someone even got a burger and fries. Everything was delicious for what to was. I will say, show up before you would like to bowl. It was packed, and we didn't have a reservation. We had called to make one, but they were not taking anymore. We were told to be there before 11:30 and to get in line, and we shouldn't have any issues getting in. That was sage advice. By 12:00 when the doors opened, there were probably 50+ people standing in line. The lanes are in pretty good shape as far as I could tell. The controllers on each lane are a little worn. The front staff were very helpful in getting everything setup, and quickly resolved two issues( our parties fault) that came up. The shoes are decent. The bowling balls to be in pretty good shape, I'm not an expert. Overall I recommend this place as a good birthday event, or for anyone looking to just get together and have fun fun with family and/or friends. read more

Good price on bowling, great selection of drinks! We enjoyed our time, arrived at 7pm and only had a 10 minute wait for 2 lanes.

It's nice inside, looks like it's been recently upgraded. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Don't let the outside fool you.

We were at Ashley lanes with a group of 5. We have one girl with a broken pinky and one has 3 screws in her wrist. We started the game with no bumpers and our friends were struggling. We politely asked the woman at the front desk if we could put up the bumpers so our 2 friends could participate. She said no, then we ran into the maintenance guy and he understood the circumstance and said yes. A few minutes later the woman at the front desk noticed we had bumpers up and she walked over kicked them down without saying anything to us. About 10 minutes later one of our friends walked up to the bar to order drinks and overheard the worker gossiping about us, as she was pouring a mixed drink into her water bottle. She continued to say rude things things about us to other coworkers as one of our friends was standing there. Very unprofessional and very rude. They should accommodate all people. They only put the bumpers up for young children, because they are too lazy to put it up in every lane. Workers should NOT be allowed to drink Alcohol on the clock, as it clouds your mind and JUDGEMENT. read more

Good times were had by all this past weekend as we hit up the lanes for a couple of rounds / strings with the family. Don't let the outside view fool you. The inside is very clean and well kept. We got there early enough to beat the rush, and believe you me, there was a rush. Gone are the days of keeping score by yourself with a pencil. Everything is electronic, and entering names to start the day was a breeze. Plenty of balls to choose from too, so whatever weight your ball preference is, you're sure to find the right ball for your hand size. We ordered some food to snack on too, and the kids devoured it. We went on Valentine's day and had an absolute blast!! We had not been bowling in forever it felt like and we really had fun. It was $21.00 for two of us for two games plus shoes and then we got a bucket of beer which was also reasonably priced. My only complaint, since I have to have one right, is that the buckets only come with 5 beers, plus they're cans. I totally get having cans considering the risk of breakage is so high, but only 5 beers?!! How am I supposed to split that?! Overall, great experience and we will absolutely be back soon! read more

Our family loves Ashley Lanes and not sure why there would be less than 5 stars. They have been renovating the inside and going to work on the outside next. But either way, bowling is always fun here and we love their bar specials. The 5 stars also goes for their menu because I swear they have THE best burgers in all of Charleston. The fries are also SO good! We always order the burgers when we come and they even have Uber eats/door dash so you can get them sent to work. Had a great time on a date night, for me and my girlfriend 2 games, on one lane, plus the shoes were 32$. Definitely worth the money but I would recommend playing 4 games. Don't let the outside discourage you from the inside. They have done a great job remodeling it. The beer and food were great, short staffed in the kitchen at the moment so don't expect the food to be quick. The only thing I would say is they could update the bowling balls they're a little worn out, I would consider making my custom bowling ball if I have the money & consider this a frequent hobby. read more

The outside isn't much but inside the staff has always been friendly, clean lanes and bathrooms, good drinks and food.

We paid for two games. We were playing and having a good time. We spilt a drink and they said our lane would be shut off if it happened again. Then all of a sudden our lane got shut off. We stayed to finish our drinks and the woman (pictured) grabbed me by my arm and yanked me. I would never recommend this place. I don't know anywhere that it is ok for an employee to grab you by the arm and yank you. I hope this woman gets fired. read more

Not a joke: one of the top 5 burgers you'll get in Charleston. It's nothing special, just a grilled bun, cheese, and as many patties as you want (it's like $2 for each patty). I dare you to try a quad! We've honestly been there just for the food on occasion without even bowling. As for the lanes/bowling, this place gets busy! Definitely call ahead and make a reservation (you do need to pay to reserve lanes) if you have a specific time you want to bowl. On weekday evenings, they have a lot of leagues and on weekends, they have tons of parties. The shoes, house balls, and lanes are all fine. This is an average bowling alley. I've been to it a few times, but it is nothing special. The equipment, building and decor could use an update- but the reason you are there, bowling- is not effected by any of these things. The staff isn't very friendly, though. Once you check in and pay for your games, nobody every checks on you, says hello, etc. They didn't even acknowledge us when we were leaving today and we were the only ones there! The snack bar has your average bowling alley snacks- they're pretty yummy. The prices are okay. The bar they have has a decent selection for the tiny amount of stuff they offer, but it gets the job done. read more

This place used to be a place where I could relieve stress and have good time. Unfortunately new hires have ruined that experience. I literally saw an old employee who was mad that I took my 10 yr old daughter into the men's room months ago to use the restroom and called the cops against me for this reason. The police that responded were ppo green #2740 and v glanfala # 2786. These officers did not offer any assistance in helping with the actual problem at hand. They just "removed" us from the property. This used to be a cool bowling alley but, with some older employees influencing the new employees this place is going downhill and looks to be heading in the same direction of sandpiper until the ownership relieves these terrible workers.
