Also had him reline one chimney and hired him to put up a new chimney when one went down in a snow storm. He installed a new chimney but it fell down in less than two months. On the second repair he ran into problems when he dropped one of the sections of chimney and had to wait for some months before the part came in. This year I reached out to him to service our home. I texted and left several messages over the past few weeks ago. Today Michelle called me to say Sam would no longer be working on our equipment. No reason, just an abrupt end. I do not consider this professional. He was always paid in full and usually with a partial payment before he started a project. The least he could do would be to explain why he no longer wants us as customers.

The IPAD was suddenly missing. We tore the home apart and searched until the next day before placing blame on anyone. The owner of Chimneys Best said Its impossible that anyone from his crew stole it and he offered for his cousin who is trooper to trace it. Unfortunately, since the IPAD we bought our daughter for her 6th grade graduation never left the confines of our home we did not put the tracer on and it was also unlocked so no matter what the offer was it would be untraceable. We filed a police report but nothing came out of it. I should have taken the day off and been vigilant the entire time but since we moved to a small new town I suppose I was too trusting. After collecting $250 for the service call, we were told he had other calls to go on and could not stay for a half hour 45 minutes to see if the fire place would stay lit after he secured the glass to some latches, saying maybe it was because of a air leak. When we called to let him know the fireplace still was not staying lit. He said it was probably the valve. Never bothered coming back to investigate further. Just said they no longer make Lenox Valves. The problem was the fireplace sensors connections just needed a good cleaning. Definitely a money grab business looking to sell a new fireplace for the tune of $6,000.

A year or so ago we learned it was because the unit they sold us was WAY too large for the space, so the fires we were burning were not hot enough to keep the glass relatively free of soot. We called and told them, suggesting they might swap ours out for a similarly valued used one the correct size, but they didn't respond. A few months later our follow up email received the same silence. We ended up buying fire bricks to fill enough space in it to allow us to burn smaller, hotter fires without overheating the room. It helped, but we still have to do more glass cleaning than we should and ended up spending more money on the larger unit than we needed to. Bob recently did a LOT of work on my nearly century old house - and it all turned out great! I…read morewanted to replace the original single pane wooden windows with essentially exact replicas and to reuse the original stained trim. It turned out that this was a VERY challenging ask... Bob helped find a dealer who could make and factory finish the windows to the required dimensions and then work with me on fitting most of the old trim to the new windows. It was a painstaking task, especially as the old stools needed to be replaced and Bob had to come up with a clever method for securely attaching the new stools to the windows such that they blended with the existing trim. He also had to create new trim for one window and try to match it to the others. They all came out great, and I realized that I never could have gotten the same result if I had tried to work with a "traditional" window installer - it required more time, patience, and attention to detail than they would have offered. Bob also paid attention to details that don't show, like insulating the area around the windows - another thing I would not have gotten from a traditional window installer. I am thrilled with my 27 new windows! In addition to the windows, Bob also replaced my roof (including fixing many issues that the last roofer just covered up) and identified issues with my chimney, which he also fixed. My house is now in much better shape that it was a year ago. I highly recommend Bob for all of your home projects - he cares about the quality of his work and will work with you to get the results that you are looking for.
