Called Byron Parker Sunday Evening and left a message telling my problem and requesting assistance. Monday morning (12/1/2025) I received a call from Rebecca who told me a man was available that morning. The man was at my door in under 20 minutes. Unfortunately, I didn't catch his name but he immediately went to work on the drain system. Opening the clean out plug and using a snake he had the drain operating properly in no time. He performed some checks on the remainder of the system and noticed that the sink basket was very loose. He took it apart and using new putty reassembled it so that it no longer leaked. I was very impressed with the service provided by Byron Parker and its employees. Having worked in the plumbing department for many years in one of the Big Box stores, I recognized the skill of the man and the thoroughness of his actions. They're booked for months in advance in the winter, so plan to call ahead or get your chimney done in the summer. I had no idea how gross the chimney of this rented house was until we had it swept. Did you know that there are three types of creosote buildup in a chimney, and they burn at various speeds and temperatures, and when a chimney catches on fire it "sounds like a freight train comin' dahn into your house"? I didn't either until I chatted with our friendly chimney sweep. Talk about an incentive to get regular cleanings done... I'd planned my day around letting him in/confirming scope of work, so I called. He said no problem, he was on his way, he'd be there in 20 minutes. I said great, I'm running out for one errand and I'll leave the door open for you. We'd already discussed what he could start on. He never showed. I texted. He never responded. I followed up via phone call. No response; mailbox full. I know contractors are a hot commodity these days, but woof this was a crappy experience. If you can't show, don't say you're on your way then leave your client in a lurch.
