Espresso & Tonic - avocado toast
Kelly R.

Excellent selection of traditional coffee, espresso, seasonal drinks, and food. Loved the ambiance --who doesn't love options... I was happily tucked into a high back chair, with wifi and table service. Espresso & Tonic paired well with the avocado toast. I'll definitely be back for another morning brekkie or an after lunch caffeinating infusion.

My husband had the worst stomach bug in his life after he had this coffee. He wanted to me to reach out to management to let them know that the milk might've been bad. I did and the response I got- instead of a - apologies will refund your order- was basically: our milk is not expired it has a layer of heavy cream on top- sorry. That's it. Working in the coffee industry myself, if a customer had a complaint about a coffee, not even remotely close to this, we would immediately refund no questions asked. Super disappointed as I had good experiences with other ascension locations. Do yourself a favor and make the further drive to the next location!

S'mores S'mores Latte and ginger cookie

I've always been drawn to their seasonal drink menu. I had the s'mores latte 10/10. It had a chocolatey smoky flavor. The star of the show was the always 10/10 ginger cookie.

This is only my second time coming but was happy to see they had their seasonal flights available in hot and iced. I love the creativity put into the drinks as they are amazing presentation wise but the flavor did not match. I am a huge coffee drinker so it may be the coffee used but I did not enjoy the drinks. Pumpkin spice lattes was just okay, Johnny cake latte tasted like salt which i was surprised but was unfortunately inedible and discord latte did not taste like biscoff at all and was bitter. The taste was almost as though the coffee in each one was old or coffee beans used multiple times. Also, this is a beautiful space however on both occasions I have come I noticed it is not the cleanest. Meaning tables and sitting areas are not cleaned up timely as people come and go so I took the time and cleaned off my table since multiple needed to be cleaned off and I saw others doing the same as well. Also staff does not seem happy to be there.

Salted caramel mocha latte

Thankful they opened at a reasonable time. The service was casual, friendly and prompt. Probably one of the best lattes I've ever had. The cold blueberry muffin was delicious so I could only imagine how good it would be warmed up, but I bought it with the purchase to go for later. The avocado toast was interesting. It's on some type of very thick nutty bread, with feta cheese, avocado, and some type of sweet pepper type relish, and cilantro. I see the vision, but I think it was too much. I don't live here, but if I am back and stay at the same hotel, I will be returning.

Very mediocre coffee, it lacked taste. The staff got the job done, and the vibe inside was good. I wouldn't return due to the blandness of the latte

Aussie Bacon & Egg Roll
Catherine F.

My food and drink were both excellent. I ordered the Aussie Bacon + Egg Roll (includes a sunny-side up egg, two pieces of bacon, aussie bbq sauce, mayo, toasted brioche bun) and the Shroom Latte (organic spice blend, adaptogenic mushrooms, almond milk, simple cane sugar, calendula flowers). I'll admit the Shroom Latte sounds unconventional, but I was feeling adventurous and was pleasantly surprised. It was very rich and had a strong cinnamon taste; note that it doesn't contain coffee. Furthermore, I greatly appreciated the insight Finley shared (e.g. he was able to elaborate on the flavor and process of making their cold brew). Since this place functions like a typical coffee shop, there wasn't much of a service component after placing your order, but they bring your food to your table (fresh from their kitchen in the back) when it's ready.

Ascension Craft Coffee + Food. Addison Location

Are you ready to Ascend? So, you guys know how I feel about COFFEE(it's more than breakfast. It's an all-day event!) I have been dying to checkout Ascension Craft Coffee + Food, but just haven't had the opportunity to step-in. Well, today was the day! It did NOT disappoint!! Ascension is a Craft Coffee Shop with various locations around the DFW area. They offer an elevated coffee experience to tantalize the mind, body, and palette! The shop is warm and inviting with the pastry case and seasonal flavors, front and center, as soon as you enter the store. Greetings all around from the staff and they were both helpful and inviting. The menu can seem a little overwhelming due to its vast options, but honey I was not intimidated! I was enraptured! The standards such as brewed coffees, teas, frappes, etc... are naturally available. But then, you begin to see temptations like Slow Bar(Pour-overs) made with Island beans with notes of toffee, dark chocolate, and cedar. Kyoto-Style cold brews, and even none coffee beverages like, matcha and golden milk lattes. They also have a variety of pastries, breakfast items, and lunch sammies. It was a treasure trove to be explored. So, I did just that! I had the Shroom Latte which was my first try of a mushroom blend coffee alternative(cause you know your girl tries to stay away from dairy). It was a DREAM!!!! Made with adaptogenic mushrooms, almond milk, maple syrup and spices; it was slightly sweet with a meatiness you wouldn't expect. I love how refreshing and reviving this drink was in place of my beloved morning joe. If you are a coffee shop aficionado, find a location near you and ASCEND! Check It Out!

Busy Baristas on a Friday Morning at Ascension

This is a gem of a coffee shop tucked away inside of an office park. Easy to miss if they didn't pull up on Google when searching coffee shops in the area. Especially with all the construction happening on Midway Rd. Don't let that deter you from stopping by here though, whether here to study, get your head down for some work deadlines or to catch up with a friend. You can do it all at Ascension! The inside is spacious and provides you with a nice area to sit and enjoy a cut of coffee or one of their many food options for breakfast, a snack or lunch. I've only stopped by for their coffee in the morning, but have enjoyed the taste and uniqueness of some of the flavors. I've had the Lavender Matcha, and the Horchata Latte. The drinks are not overly sweetened but give you just the right hint of flavor. Friendly staff and I really enjoy the ambience.

Today we're coming at you with another Ascension review. Literal nasty yall. The tea was the most bitter possible, and the staff was so busy and not friendly so I didn't want to annoy them to switch it. Also the Veggie Sammie was just bad. Was asked if I wanted croissant or bagel - and y'all tell me why the croissant was an extra dollar. And get this - the top of the croissant was too hard, so I had to eat it open faced, come on now! One star for the decent study vibes, but the table was lowkey high, so I was struggling. Overall, mad disappointing $19 adventure.

Great coffee pours but poor service. Why is it mandatory that I be assigned a server if I sit outside with my coffee, when I want to pay inside and sit to sip? Ambiance is good but not if I want to be unbothered with my coffee outside at a table.

Bianca D.

Love this place! Food quality food and coffee and very kind staff. Got the sugar cookie latte half sweet and was good, nothing crazy life changing but a good not too sweet drink.

Doki Doki, iced Bhakti Chai Latte
Sonya L.

Service was ok. The location has a lot of tables and space to sit. We got coffee and a scone. The scone was nothing to write home about, it did it's job as being breakfast. I got an iced chai latte, the chai was spicy and not as sweet. We also got a doki doki, which was ok but only like 4 ozs. If you want a larger drink to sip on, instead of a shot, you might want to opt for something else.

Good bagels - and wonderful service. The guy at the cash register was hilarious. Great place to meet up and just get work done.

The staff were friendly and the beverages were tasty. I wish they had more non-coffee options. I really enjoyed their patio.

House brew was perfect for my taste preferences. Avocado toast came with 2 eggs; very good for early morning breakfast. Fair prices.

Yes!

First up, the pirogies--holy moly, these little pockets of joy were just unreal. Perfectly soft, stuffed to the brim, and fried up just right. I'm pretty sure if my tasted these, she'd give a polite nod and say, "Not bad, eh?" Then came the pot roast poutine, and let me tell ya--this isn't just food, it's a life experience. You've got those crispy fries, squeaky cheese curds (as they should be, eh!), and gravy so rich it could probably pay rent in Toronto. And then--BAM--tender pot roast on top. I nearly stood up and sang "O Canada," no joke. Now the Canadian Eggs Benedict? Ohhh, beauty. The peameal bacon was thick, juicy, and cooked just right, sittin' pretty under those poached eggs with hollandaise sauce that was smoother than a fresh sheet of ice. Absolute perfection, eh. And don't even get me started on the everyday breakfast. Classic, hearty, and no funny business--just how we like it. Eggs done right, toast that actually tastes like toast (imagine that!), and portions big enough to fuel ya through a full day of shovelin' snow... or, you know, strolling around Dallas. All in all, Maple Leaf Diner absolutely crushed it. Let me tell ya, the service was so fast and smooth, I thought I was dreaming eh. Great food, friendly vibes, and enough Canadian charm to make ya wanna say "sorry" when someone else bumps into you. 10/10, would recommend--now pass the syrup, eh?

Even when we weren't sure about which appetizers we wanted she allowed us to split appetizers- a small portion where we got to try the apps. We tried the tenderloin crostini which was delicious. Along with coconut shrimp. The shrimp were ginormous. And the sauces were so good. Our fav was the mango marmalade. The best bread I have ever had in my life!!!! You know how sometimes they bring a roll to the table for the table to share? Not here boyeeeee Each person gets their own roll. I don't even know how to explain this heavenly bread. It truly is the best beard I have ever had before. I would come eat here again JUST FOR THE BREAD. The crab cake is out of this world. Huge jumbo clumps. Also comes with a variety of sauces. The wasabi one was our favorite. You must order the crab cake! My husband got the ribeye rare and said it was the best steak he has had, and he eats a ton of steak. I got their off menu item of carne asada tacos. The meat was sooooo tender. They don't use flank steak they use a tenderloin and it just melts. The mushrooms were Devine. Glad I ordered the carne asada. The adult Mac and cheese was good but just good. Brussels sprouts were good (not the best I have had) but I think I was also just so full by this point. The asparagus is huge!!! Oh the best finisher ever- the peanut butter pie!!!! OMG!!!!!!!!!! I'm not even a dessert girl and I couldn't stop eating it. First time me and my husband were fighting over the last bite.
