The technician was 1 1/4 hours late,…read morethen instead of rekeying 4 locks he changed two of the locks with new locks that did not match the existing locks and then after he left I noticed he only put 1 screw in on each lock (each lock requires 2 screws). I called 2 mins after he left he said he would be back in 40 Minutes and never showed up. I called repeatedly for days and got the run around. They first stated locks do not need 2 screws to keep them I'm place then they kept saying they would be back in 40 minutes and that was a week ago. They have poor customer service and knowledge of how to put locks on properly. I had to finally finish the job myself. Never in my life have I seen such a disaster of a company. Stay far away from this company.

They arrived promptly for my weekend appointment (bonus for a weekend appt) and got right to work. Through some sort of locksmith sorcery, they managed to pop my lock open without having to blow it out (and costing me serious $$$). He was able to rekey my lock with a key I already had, eliminating my need to get a totally new key created and overloading my keychain! I seriously was so impressed with their service. Overall, it took them about 30 minutes to get into a locked door and rekey the lock for me. I would recommend them 100 times over!

Let me save you some time - go with Consolidated Locksmiths!…read more WHY: I recently purchased a home and wanted to get the locks rekeyed. I spent about an hour calling every single Locksmith in the Charlotte area I could find for quotes. Every place I called tried to win me over with this "$19" service charge but said that each lock would be anywhere from "$29-$49" and that they wouldn't know until they arrived. Plus they try to win you over by sending out someone to quote, and that they "won't do any work without your approval," but you would still owe the $19 service charge. VALUE ADD: I don't like signing up for anything without a clear understanding of what I'm getting into which is why I made the choice to go with Consolidated Locksmiths. After spending 1-minute with them on the phone, I was relieved that I finally found a company who was providing me clarity into the two things I was looking for: 1) what they were going to charge me and 2) what was included in that price. They assured me that they don't play around with this guessing game, and they give you a clear understanding of what they will charge you before arrival. They were able to get me in the next day and were able to change my locks in 15-minutes! TOTAL COST: They have a flat $65 service charge plus $10/lock. So for two locks it will cost $85 total - and this includes tax. They give you 3 keys included with this purchase, and its about $3 for each one after that. They accept all major credit cards as well. They were an hour late to my appointment and were super apologetic and even gave me an extra 10% off as a courtesy. In total, I only paid $76.50 to get my two locks changed and three brand new keys. Would totally recommend using them and I'm sure I'll be back again!

I had an excellent experience with 24hr Discount Locksmith…read more After being locked out, I contacted the owner, and he came out the same day within 2 hours. He was extremely professional and had me back inside my house within 5 minutes. What really sets this company apart is its advanced technology. I have a Kwikset Smart Halo system (Gen 5) lock, and every other locksmith I called wanted to drill the lock because these smart locks are extremely difficult--if not impossible--to pick. Fortunately, this locksmith had the LockTech Kwikset SmartKey GEN 5 Decoder/Digital Scope, which allowed for clean, non-destructive entry. The pricing was fair at $145 total, especially considering the specialized equipment and fast response time. The replacement smart lock would have been over $200 alone! Before leaving, he also made sure I could use my Kwikset smart key re-key system, so my existing keys continued to work--something I really appreciated. I must have called 25 locksmiths before finding this company, and none of them had the proper tools for these newer smart locks. I highly recommend 24hr Discount Locksmith. Also, check their website--you can get 10% off as a first-time customer. 5 Stars!
