I've visited Laura multiple times for bodywork, and I've recommended her to many others since…read more Laura's intuitive approach to massage therapy is what truly makes her stand out. She has an exceptional understanding of the body and energy flow, creating a session that is not only rejuvenating but also deeply healing. Her ability to help release stored energy and foster a sense of balance is nothing short of amazing. After each session, I leave feeling lighter, more centered, and completely refreshed. If you're looking for more than just a massage--a truly transformative experience--I wholeheartedly recommend Laura.

Laura Williams is competent, dedicated, knowledgeable, attentive and kind…read more I came to Laura in January, 2024, principally to work on lingering pain in both my right and left lumbar area; the right one being an old problem and the left one quite sharp and very new. The left one was the remnant of a slipped disk that created an uncomfortable amount of burning pain for several long months in the left leg and leaving the muscles atrophied and weak. Since the right lumbar almost always hurt in one way or another and my neck was always and repeatedly stiff, I finally decided to go looking again for a therapist. I contacted a number of therapists, but Laura's response was so simple, direct and pleasant, I decided to try her services. Good Choice In the first session the sharp residual pain in the left lumbar was gone within days and by the third session I realized I had made the right choice. Laura has an uncanny energy and a clear ability to connect to the human organism, allowing her to perceive and understand its needs, quibbles, defects and problems; no doubt supported by her manifestly impressive knowledge of the musculoskeletal anatomy. She has a light touch, but also a powerful force where needed--and I have certainly often needed her energy and her force. Because I complained about a unhealthy level of prolonged stress developed over the last five dreadful years, she also began a sensitive and effective method to moderate this stress; quieting my organism and better preparing me to deal with, construct and tear down, what has yet been left undone.

I had a really disappointing experience here. I paid $100 for a full body massage, which I thought…read morewas reasonable, but the service was not what I expected at all. The massage was extremely painful from start to finish--honestly, the entire hour felt unbearable. I've had many massages before and have never experienced anything like this. She mainly focused on my back and didn't even do a proper full body massage. When I got home, my back was still hurting badly, and my husband checked and saw visible bruising. I couldn't believe I stayed the whole time. I went in hoping to relieve tension and left feeling worse. I don't feel confident in the therapist's technique and won't be returning.

I've been to dozens of different reflexology / chinese type massage places over the last 20 years,…read morebut Avee 9 is clearly the best place by a LOT. Now it should be understood that I like a massage that some would consider way too hard. I want the mass of the titanic with the anger of a teenager thrust into my back with explosive force. This is obviously not for everyone. Jennifer and Yoyo ( I am probably spelling them incorrectly ) are soooooo good at what they do. Both of them can do a walk on back technique without a towel covering that allows them to dig their heels into my lower back while sliding them forward while using oil. It's incredible. When they switch to their hands you can feel them hunting for knots, discovering issues and working them out. If they do happen to miss something just ask. They are happy to help. There are many common issues I see with some other Chinese reflexology places. Those issues include uneven massaging ( ex: rubbing the right shoulder blade for 4 minutes then skipping the left ), extremely light pressure, no knowledge of proper pressure points, using too much oil, loud bickering in chinese between co-workers, unstable when using walk on back technique and falling into a memorized routine without paying attention to the clients body. Sometimes you get a place that avoids 90% of these problems and that's a damn good massage. Avee 9 avoids all the problems and does the BEST job. The ONLY issues that I have with this place are the noise & parking. It's not particularly quiet and the two parking spots in the back can be full via locals in the neighborhood. To me it's still worth it. I work hard physical jobs that worsen my sciatica and need a massage to get me back to work. A little noise and parking at petco is no big deal. Additionally, It's quite small so there is no room for a shower which is a bummer but that's not a deal breaker. I moved from Redwood City to South San Francisco recently and tried a local place for convenience and WOW it was truly AWFUL in comparison. I am done trying different places. I know I will never find a place as good as Avee 9. Is it a fancy spa with bamboo signage, facials and a sauna? Not at all. But if you need Thor's hammer thrust in your back at speed this is the place to go. Calling ahead is always the best option and tip WELL. I always do and they take phenomenal care of me. 10/10 would recommend.
