Recommended by a friend to try this place for a bronzed look before my babymoon. I've been to tanning spots before but hadn't found one I liked in the peninsula. I made an appointment with Katie and she was able to get me in really quickly, which was perfect since I was leaving for my trip! I did the personalized tan (not sure if that's what it's called, but it's the one where someone sprays you, not the machine). Katie was awesome at doing the spray and made sure I got even coverage all over. The facility and room were clean and in good repair, unlike some tanning places I've been to where they look really rundown. I ended up leaving my watch there and Katie called right away so I could come back and get it. I really appreciated that! Given my experience, I ended up buying a three pack since I wanted to come back for tans before other upcoming trips. The tan ended up looking great - not too dark or too orange. It lasted a few days less than I'm used to, but I was in the sun and pool on my trip, so I'll see if it lasts longer next time. read more

Got a spray tan before a huge event earlier this year and it was the worst spray tan I've ever gotten. She said I could come back for a redo but honestly it's legit the last place I would ever return to. I'd rather lose the money. I followed the after and precare and never had this happen with any other place. Convenient but I looked horrific for a major event and it was super disappointing. I have been a client for over a decade. I became hooked on the spray tans because they were done (perfectly) no runny issues, and no funny orange colors. The glow really adds to your self confidence which is a big deal for me and self care. They don't treat you like a walk-in even if you are, but rather really take time to get to know you, so they can get the color to where you want it. The team members have become like family and the studio itself is immaculate, the beds are cleaned perfectly and they maintain full protocols for ensuring we are safe during the time of CoVid. The last place I went to get a tan when out of business in Santa Cruz so after some research and suggestion from friends I went here. Ron and his staff are super friendly and very knowledgeable. There is nothing mystical or complicated about the Mystic Tan.. it is super easy to use, does not turn your skin orange and it provides an even tan. We ended up watching a video demo of how to use the machine, and there are instructions in the room in case you forget. Both my bridesmaid and I are super happy with our results! We ended up going with medium with some bronzer booster. I am a tad more evened out for this weekend... I turned about 3 shades darker :) The ambiance is friendly, relaxed and super clean! I have been tanning here since I turned 18 years old, so about 11 years now. Katie runs this business amazing. Her cleanliness is beyond 5 stars and do not even get me started on her airbrush skills. If you're looking for quick solution to look like you haven't spent the last two years indoors under fluorescent lights sunless tanning is a solid quick fix! They offer a buy one get one free. I used the Mystic Mymist Spray booth and it is just like in FRIENDS: the one with Ross not understanding the directions- the reason I gave 3 stars was the booth was not heated which if not for comfort, for better results & longer lasting tan. I took a tour and the storefront and separate tanning rooms look tired which is strange after Covid-19. Especially the dark indoor/outdoor carpeting. The sunless solution is DHA free but basic body makeup. Reasonably priced for sunless tan lasting 6 or 7 days. There are bronzer and odor add ons to the basic tan which can run up your cost quick but for a 60 second walk-in appointment I left with an healthy looking tan before my holiday dinner party. The representative knew a lot about the products and her machines and was kind to give me a tour afterwards but wish I had asked specifically about the heated booth and took a tour first! read more

Have been very pleased with my experience with the staff thus far until my encounter with the girl working today. I gave her my name twice before she rather rudely said "I can't hear you" which would have been no big deal but she couldn't hear me because she had half of her headphones in. So of course you can't hear me. Once she finds my name she again rudely says "what do you want?!" Every interaction after was very short. And upon leaving she says nothing. Clearly her lack of being able to hear me really didn't sit well. I still had an thorough amount of questions, Ron (owner) was able to answer with relative ease; such as, can my g'nads get burnt? Oops, TMI, huh =( Without going into details, I went through the process with relative comfort & ease. A couple days later, I looked at myself in the mirror and it successfully addressed my "farmers tan." Great job, APT! Salon: This perfect little quaint establishment is perfect for those looking for personal "one-on-one" service. A comfortable stress free environment with cool jams complete the ambiance (are you sure this isn't a spa?). Most importantly, for me, they offered clean and private rooms. Service/ experience: Very informative staff & owner. They were very conscious & honest of his customers needs. It was obvious because regular customers were coming in & out while I was asking questions (very encouraging). If you're in the area, locally or afar, you will love their individual TLC. Why save a couple bucks elsewhere? Join his salon and become a regular and save $$$ over time (with seasonal promotions). Have to preface this review by saying that I'm friends with the owner, but hopefully this makes what I have to say more relevant. If it sucked, I would have just not said anything. First off, I don't tan. I'm pale, transparent even. I lived in San Diego for ten years, and didn't have color until the tenth year. Then I moved to NY, and immediately looked like a human that evolved underground. Once a few of us were out at Central Park on a nice summer day, we all laid out to catch some sun. I was asked to put my shirt back on, because the light reflecting from my body was blinding people. I worried about getting a tan, without it, I'd just look like a marshmallow. With it... a toasted marshmallow.. It's summer, graham crackers and chocolate and all of a sudden, it's a dangerous time to be a toasted marshmallow. Despite my hesitation, I was encouraged to just try it and if you do know someone, why go somewhere else? Ron was working and he greeted me and my friend, and gave us the tour and talked us through the mystic tans, the different beds, what people liked and why. He works hard to keep things up to date, and take care of his customers, and that's really all you need to know. Oh, and he keeps the place clean and takes care of the little things. Nice. I chose a mystic tan and told the front desk staff it was my first time. She walked me through everything and briefly mentioned the "blending cream." I really wish this review could be higher, but I just spent $30 on a bed with reaaaaally old bulbs. It never even got hot! It's highly disappointing, I feel cheated. The ups to this salon are that it's very clean and they have wipes & deodorant in the rooms, both are much appreciated in a tanning salon. Last year I had knee surgery and was told that I cannot be in the direct sunlight for a year if I want my scars to go away. So I listened. And now that my year is up I am tired of being so pale!! I cannot sit in the sun for 12 hours a day seeing as how we have not had that many summer like days!! So to yelp I go and I found A perfect tan. However for some reason the one I found was in Cupertino. So I went on their website and noticed they had one in Menlo Park and I was so happy about that!! Only thing I was not such a big fan about was their hours of operation. I am so busy and my nights end around 730 and I always hate being that person that goes somewhere right when a place is about to close. However I found out that they have extended hours now and close at 9 and I just fell in love!! I have been to tanning salons a couple times before but I am new to the experience of going alone since I used to go with friends. So needless to say I was a bit apprehensive about going because I did not know the first thing about the questions I was supposed to ask or what I was supposed to do. I believe the girl that helped me was Isabell or Isabella. If I am wrong on the name I am so sorry, but she was amazing. I walked in and she explained everything to me! I told her it was my first time tanning in over a year and she went through the star packages they had or the monthly memberships. She suggested a tanning lotion and was not just trying to sell me the most expensive one. Great customer service! Every time I come here the people are always so friendly. I always get greeted with a hello, how are you doing, something! and to me that makes my experience anywhere 100 times greater. Whenever I come here I feel so welcomed and that is another big thing for me. I never feel out of place This place is small, but cute. Clean and all around great. These guys are awesome! I was visiting my parents out here for a couple of weeks and wanted to give myself some color, so I found a Perfect Tan - it's close to my house and the reviews seemed great. It didn't make sense for me to get a whole month of unlimited so with 10 days left in the area, I bought 5 sessions on the standard beds and went every other day. The staff are really friendly, the prices are really reasonable and the beds are clean. Most importantly, I got a great all-around color - when I usually have very fair skin. As I said, I only used the standard beds (which worked great, and the bulbs were nice and hot) because I don't go tanning all that much, but next time I'll probably upgrade as I think the 5-session package was only 15 bucks or so more for a better bed. Overall I had a great experience here and the price really cannot be beat for the area. With that said, a VIP package isn't exactly VIP... you are in the way back with the oldest bed! HOWEVER, the owner and all of the girls working were all very pleasant and helpful. I never had to wait for a bed. And even better the owner hooked me up with a few extra trial packets of lotion so I could see which I liked best. Definitely recommended.... OH! And most importantly: Do not confuse this place with the other tanning salon on the corner of El Camino & Menlo Ave.... that place is way more expensive and the girl working wasn't exactly friendly. Arrived at 7:30 pm tonight and was told that the spray tan closes at 7:30pm even though the hours listed on their door and website state a closing time of 8pm. When I pushed back I was told that the machine was already cleaned and I should have called if I wanted to come in this late in the evening, as if it was my fault for not knowing that they would not honor their published opening and closing times. No apology, just attitude. I drove 20 minutes out of my way to come here and left without the service I wanted. I really don't appreciate businesses that waste my time. They're in a great spot, next to Starbucks! There parking in the front and back and side. And there's even street parking. Went here because I've been wanting just a little extra color. They have star packages and then the unlimited packages. Star packages you purchase a certain number of stars and then each bed will be a certain number of stars depending on the level. Unlimited starts at $60 for level 1, $80 for levels 1 and 2, and can go up to $140. They have awesome summer deals where you can get one month unlimited free with the purchase of an unlimited package. They also had 40% merchandise last week. Super friendly there at the Menlo Park location and they have another location in San Carlos too. Definitely recommend. read more

I used to work and manage that location back in 1993-94! That was my favorite location, and we worked really well with the bikini store next door. I know the name has changed but it was formerly A Tan for All Seasons. One of my first jobs out of high school and I became a manager there! Great experience!
