It makes me sad to write a lower star review because I really had a great experience in-studio. Let me start off by saying that the owner is really sweet and you can tell she puts a lot of work into her salon. We did have a few back and forths when it came to scheduling my spray tan airbrush appointment, but overall, Jaime was super accommodating and sweet. She made me feel comfortable during my appointment and I felt like she was putting a lot of care into the work. Ultimately, it comes down to the service and result itself. I was going on a bachelorette trip the next day week so wanted to look pretty dark compared to my fair skin. It's not my first experience tanning (I've done bed, booth, and multiple airbrush sessions before). I wasn't given any instructions on how to prepare for my appointment, which I think would have been really bad if I was new to tanning. Anytime I go to a new salon, the specialist sends me a "precare" checklist (things like exfoliate, don't put on product, don't shave beforehand, wear dark loose clothing to appointment, etc). Luckily, I have had experience in this so I did a normal "pre-tan" routine. There were some splotchy areas right after the appointment, but Jaime assured me multiple times that it would not be like that once I rinsed it off 5 hours later. I rinsed and when I woke up the next morning, the areas that were splotchy when I left were very clear. I went on my bachelorette trip with random white spots on my chest and arms. I've never had this happen to me, so I'm not sure what went wrong here - but I didn't have the time to fix it. I wasn't satisfied with the service and probably will not be returning. The other areas looked great, but this ruined it for me. read more

My daughter needed a little color when wearing her prom dress. We called and Jamie figured out how to fit us in her booked and busy day. She was above and beyond accommodating, friendly and professional. My daughter had never done this so Jamie took her time to talk to my daughter at the spray appointment . The spray tan was so well done. Very natural looking and no streaks. Very much worth the money . That little bit of tanning made my daughter feel pretty in her prom dress . I was very impressed with 'The Beach House'. The level of service I received from the staff was impeccable. First and foremost they adhere to COVID-19 guidelines and everything was sanitized above and beyond. Jenny assisted me from start to finish and she was so knowledgeable and wonderful with all my questions and got me set up with lotion. I didn't realize that they still honor any stars/points from 'A Tan for All Seasons' which was what they were before they rebranded to 'The Beach House' - that was a pleasant surprise for sure! Finding a place with tanning beds around the Peninsula has proven to be difficult, so I am super happy to have found a place like this that is so awesome! So I have really fair skin which will burn within an hour or so if constant sun exposure. My history of vacationing has been once or twice a year anywhere with a nice hot beach. To avoid getting burnt the first day or two of vacation I have to build my base tan. This is not always easy with Bay Area weather. The Beach house is awesome! I go in one month before my trip and get enough points to tan every other day or so for a month at like 6 minutes a tan. Then the last 2 weeks I will bump up to 8 or 10 minutes or go to the bigger bed. The staff are great, super friendly and helpful. The place is always super clean with towels and bottled water if you desire. The Beach House is the place to Tan!!! read more

I love The Beach House! I got my first spray tan here when I decided to audition for the 49ers cheerleading team. As a first-timer who didn't know anything about spray tans I had an amazing experience. Everyone who works here is very sweet and helpful. Jamie (the owner) is the best--she is incredibly kind, attentive, and knowledgeable and made me feel so comfortable as she guided me through the whole airbrush process. After making the team, The Beach House is where I would get my spray tans before every game. Even though our team had a tanning sponsorship elsewhere where we were could get free tans, I still chose to come to here because the color and quality is so much better. The beach house did a great job giving me my very first tan for my upcoming wedding. Naturally I'm VERY fair skinned, so I was pretty nervous how this would look on me. I needed to look natural but darker?? Lol, well I decided to do a trial color and day of spray tan. I loved the color! I had a destination wedding got my tan on Tuesday & needed the color to last til Saturday (wedding day) AND IT DID. Jaime recommended a color extender cream which worked like a charm! I used to live this place. I still do but lately whoever has been working Isn't great over the phone. I called for hours and she told me I could find the hours on Yelp! That's great but I called you. The booth was down the last few times and it's a bummer they are closed Sundays. Otherwise If you need a quick tan, it's great. I found a great place in Burlingame on Howard that I would highly recommend. They have new spray tan booth that are powerful, easy to use. A few months ago I drove from San Francisco to San Mateo to try out 'The Beach House', purely based on the fact that this place is rated at the top on Yelp and sifting through the reviews (I'm always girded and suspicious of 'reviews')--but, all the five star reviews are spot on--Jamie and Jenny really are 'awesome'--really friendly ladies-- I've used every tanning salon in my home town in New York and most of the ones in San Francisco--varying degrees of expertise, results, professionalism, etceteras....I don't know what product or voodoo they use to set them apart...I just know that I look so much more naturally tanned than the myriad other tanning places I've tried-- Hands down this place takes the cake-- You won't be disappointed--I swear to Buda--'A' Plus place for a superior tan--And I need every advantage I can muster at my disposal-- read more

The people were super nice here, but I was really disappointed with my spray tan. There were spots on my thigh and calf that seemed to have been missed, and didn't darken at all. I had gone 2 days before my wedding, and was pretty alarmed to notice this after I showered the day before. When I called to see if there was anything they could do, the woman at the front desk said the spray tan artists weren't in that day and the best she could do would be to give me some self tanning cream. Since my wedding was the next day, I took her up on it but it didn't make a difference. Fortunately, I was wearing a long dress so no one could tell, but even the woman at the front desk was a little appalled at how it looked. If I had had a dress that revealed my legs, I would have panicked! It also wore off super unevenly, more so than other tans I've gotten. read more

I had Jaime Ward as my spray tan specialist and she was amazing. It had been a while since I had done a spray tan and I wanted a perfect tan for a photo shoot that I was doing on a Monday. So I came in and met with her on a Friday to make sure everything was perfect. It turned out that my skin/body did not take well to the tanner, but that wasn't a problem Jaime was in constant contact with me, and wanted to make sure that I was satisfied and my tan looked amazing. She came back in on Sunday and did the touch ups for me. She also helped me because my feet and hands got a little more tanning solution so I was able to remove and she reapplied it and it turned out amazing. To be honest even with showers every other day my tan lasted almost 10 days. She is very knowledgeable about tanning and how to take care of the tan to make it last. If there are imperfections she takes the time to help you fix those. She is amazing and I would highly recommend her for any special occasion or if you just want that glow. Let's start with JENNY IS THE BEST. She is the absolute sweetest. The Beach House was busy the night I was there. But Jenny did not rush me or her work. My tan appeared to have some blotchiness when I woke up the next morning, but after I showered it definitely evened out. I called ahead to make an appointment, but other people did walk in so either works. My appointment did get honored before the walk ins, which I consider a plus. Walking into The Beach House was a surprise. I'm used to one room places. So it was nice to have multiple stalls and very clean, crisp decor. It felt very Malibu in there, if you know what I mean. I purchased the 3-spray tan package, which was only $115. So the price is definitely on the better end. Also my tan lasted well over a week. Will definitely go back for another tan (well I have to go back two more times anyways, BUT I'd go back again after my package and buy more). Last, LOVE that they open so late. Work schedules can be crazy, so it's nice to know I don't have to rush to get a tan at 6pm like at other places. read more

I visited The Beach House for the second time today and had a fantastic experience. Everything from the waiting room and booths to the restroom was kept very clean and tidy. I used the Versa machine which was quick and gives great results. My tan turned out beautiful! Very even and love the color - not orangey at all. Jamie was very patient and accommodating. I have been tanning at this location for over two years and have seen such great changes since the current owner purchased it about a year and a bit ago. It is super clean, new bulbs are installed often, the staff is friendly and go out of their way to make sure you are taken care of - although Andrea is my fav. The hours are convenient, there are beds available every time we come in and they offer complimentary bottled water which is a nice touch. One thing I wish they had is a monthly membership one could pay for unlimited tanning. They work on a point system which is a little goofy to me, but it works. Best tanning experience by far I have ever experienced. I am visiting San Francisco from Portland, OR on a business trip and needed some quick color. I found this salon on yelp and saw that they had great reviews and great prices. My hotel is about 30 mins away from this salon, however WELL worth the drive!! Very professional staff. You can tell the manager takes great pride in her salon. She is very sweet, and caring about her customers: she wants everyone to leave happy! Very well kept, and clean. Beautiful front waiting room with refreshments. I love my results with the Versa Spa. They offered sticky feet to put on the bottom of your feet so that the bottom of your feet don't get discolored or streaky. Also prep lotion, towel, hairnet. They offered me a great special- 3 spray tans for $50.00. Which included any color I wanted light-dark/double dark. And a primer spray- which is unheard of at any salon I've been to. Usually that is extra- how amazing! Both employee and manager walked me through the process of their equipment and were very kind and thorough to make sure I understood the process. Their spray booth also offers a Dyson dryer so after you get out of the booth you can also dry for a few extra minutes after the dry pass session. They were not pushy nor did I feel rushed like most salons I've been to. I am so happy, I found this amazing salon. I'm sad they are not in Oregon! I was heading to vegas for a music festival , in dead summer, and did not want to be blinding people with my white skin .. im latina but the light light fair skinned latina LOL... so anyways , I made an appointment here and Jenny took care of me. She is sweet and professional and told me before hand what the process was like. Its pretty easy once your there . You follow her directions and she sprays you very beautifully and evenly.. my tip to any first timers, and I forgot to do this, wear a bikini top or do it top less so you don't have tan lines I wore a strap less bandeaux because I forgot that I was going to be in low cut shirts , I kept thinking I was just doing it for my arms and legs to not be so blinding white haha.. anyway, t his really worked and really gave me a gorgeous tan ! and confidence !! I have been to the beach house about five times recently and I definitely think it deserves five stars if not more. Jamie sprayed me and I have to say she is really a perfectionist! I've been to several spray tanning places in the area and find that some of them rub off on your bed or they only last for a few days.
