I've been needing a massage badly since starting my lagree classes, and I wanted to treat myself to a facial as well. After looking through Yelp I found Serenity, which is very close to my home, and had great reviews. I booked a same day appointment via phone. I wanted to give 5 stars for my massage / facial from Ritva. From the start I was greeted and we went over what should be expected from my services. I booked a 90 minute massage/facial combo. Ritva asked where are my target areas I'd like to treat for my Massage, I let her know where I've been experiencing a lot of pain at and she took time and concentrated on exactly what I asked for while still making time to do my full body. For the facial it was a mini hydrating facial where she cleansed, steamed, did extractions, and lastly moisturized my face. It was very relaxing and my skin looked glowing after. I will definitely add this place to my routine. I usually treat myself to a massage at least once a month and I'm glad I found this place. The prices are reasonable for the quality of service you receive. read more

I originally went in for a brightening facial, and it ended up being such an amazing experience. They recommended adding dermaplaning, and I'm so glad I trusted their expertise. My skin felt incredibly smooth, clean, and noticeably brighter afterward. The entire service was also so relaxing that I actually fell asleep, which says alot. Everything felt thoughtful and well executed from start to finish. It was recommended to get a facial once a month. It was compared to maintaining the oil changes in a car. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone looking to refreshen their skin and enjoy a truly relaxing experience. read more

I booked serenity day spa for a spa party for my friend's bachelorette. Sarah was so responsive and helped me through the booking process. She made it all so easy to book. She was so patient with my questions and with booking all the reservations. When we all arrived, we felt bad because we were a little early, but they were so kind and started setting up all the fruit and refreshments for the spa party. Even coming in with extra seating in their lobby. They were truly such professionals and offered quality service. I very highly recommend Serenity Day Spa especially for spa parties for any occasion! read more

Serenity Day Spa - Refreshments! - Skin Care Near Me - Atherton, California

My husband, daughter and I have been going to Serenity for several years for massages and facials. Everyone there is kind, accommodating and very professional, and the atmosphere is calm and relaxing. Sarah does amazing facials - I am not someone who seeks out facials, but I continue to return to Sarah. My face feels rejuvenated and my whole body relaxed at the end of the session. Candy is our go-to masseuse. I have had several injuries and she has done great work to speed the healing process. In addition, she finds the knots and other tight places that need special attention, and regularly checks in to make sure the pressure is just right. read more

I was able to book a 90 min massage concentrating on my back. It was great - when I requested more pressure girl was CONSISTENT with it and omg I felt those knots on my upper crack and pop. However I will def be visiting my thai masseuse instead bc I need my back cracked. The pressure was great but I just prefer the thai massage instead. Overall: 8/10 recommend. I was def come back in for a facial tho read more

Wow... the best spa experience I have ever had! It was my sister's bachelorette and all she asked for was to relax with a massage and facial. As soon as I reached out to Serenity Day Spa, Katie was genuinely sweet and accommodating to our group of 6. She even went above and beyond to make this day special for my sister by decorating the waiting area and providing us snacks and drinks. It was so beautiful! Everything was coordinated and planned out so well and went by so smoothly - all thanks to Katie and the staff! Services provided were: Deep Tissue Massage, Swedish Massage, Purifying Hydrating Facial, and Signature Serenity Facial. Every single person had an amazing experience. The estheticians and massage therapists were very knowledgeable and professional. We all left feeling so relaxed. Prices were extremely reasonable for the high quality service. Facilities were very well kept and clean. The treatment rooms truly gave off that escape from reality, zen/peaceful vibe. Thank you so much, Katie and all Serenity Day Spa staff for making this day so memorable and special :) We will definitely be back! read more

Serenity Day Spa - Skin Care Near Me - Atherton, California

I have been going to serenity for 3 years now and never had such a bad experience as today morning. The receptionist claimed to be my masseuse and game me a pseudo hot stone 'touch' rather than a deep tissue message. Inspite of constantly asking her to go deeper into my pain areas she just barely kept touching me and told me that going inside tissues is not needed for pain relief. Hot towels and hot stone touch will do the trick Not only that, she kept commenting on how my body was fat , my digestion was off and I should eat less sugar. It doesn't end here - she asked me to pay with Venmo at the end and refused to take any other form of payment. Serenity - have you outsourced your business to some jerk who is abusing your client base? I don't think I will ever return and I would advise for anyone not to go here either. They don't have skilled people anymore read more

I booked a group reservation at Serenity Day Spa for my cousin's bachelorette party/celebration. She wanted something relaxing and chill. Serenity Day Spa was perfect for our group of 6. Sarah was very accommodating. Without asking, she brought some fresh fruit for us to enjoy and she even had a "bride to be sign" handy to put up. We took turns 3 at a time to get massages and it was great! Thank you for the amazing experience! read more

Both my husband and I have had great experiences at Serenity. They massages have been great--I'd say they are especially good at deep tissue and functional massages that help really release knots. It is pretty easy to get an appointment, even same day, and the cozy atmosphere feels nice. read more

Requested last minute spa day for 6 people. They were very accomodating and we all enjoyed excellent massages (relaxation swedish for most of us, therapeutic deep tissue for one, and another had hot stone add on). Everyone very pleased with their treatments and agree will will go back in the future! read more

Booked massages and facials for my wife's birthday and we couldn't have picked a better place to go. Even before the day we came, Katie was incredibly helpful and communicative setting up the appointments and what we wanted to do. Every question I had was answered and she made sure to make the day special for my wife. We were welcomed with a warm, welcoming ambiance and a happy birthday sign for the day. Not to mention, left with a little gift for my wife. They truly went above and beyond. Nicole S and Manee V are incredible at what they do! Nicole was friendly and made us feel so relaxed during the facials. She is a definite pro at what she does. We both left with our skin glowing and feeling refreshed. Our massages put us both to sleep and that's a great thing. Manee is amazing and has the perfect touch. We both left feeling loose and relaxed all over. We can't wait to be back and treat ourselves once again. read more

Too-notch professional service at a reasonable price. Relaxing and exceeding clean setting. My masseuse was knowledgeable, worked on my extreme knotty spots. Most massages at this place are $85 without the 20 percent tip I added. I already booked for next month. read more

Exactly what I needed after a long work week! The firm pressure Swedish massage was perfect. Great pressure and techniques. I was only able to squeeze in 60 minutes but will definitely be back for 75 or 90 minutes next visit. read more

I had an amazing massage by Meena! I booked the day before and typically go to a different place but they had no openings. My shoulder was hurting me and she worked out all the kinks, it was lovely and I already booked a massage for next month! read more

Had a relaxing girl's post-holiday spa afternoon atSerenity Day Spa yesterday. The place is very nice, clean and comfortable, and the receptionist was friendly and very accommodating. It is very conveniently located on El Camino, very close to Celia's Mexican Restaurant, with easy parking right out front. It is a small place, 3 treatment rooms, only 1 bathroom and a nice sitting area in the entry. We were the only people there so I felt comfortable sitting in my robe, but if there were a lot of other people coming and and out, maybe not? We were offered water or tea and small snacks while waiting. We all had facials and massages. 2 of 3 of us were highly satisfied with our services. No complaints from us - Wendy and Pim were great! One of my friends gave it a good but not great. She had both her treatments in the same room and by the same person. I think The treatment room was more for skin care than for massage. She said the table was hard and the head rest/cradle was uncomfortable and needed to use a towel (not a massage table). The massage was a bit awkward, she felt exposed a few times and the therapist did not massage her head. Her therapist left right afterward, before we could tip, so maybe she was having an off day? Overall we had a nice experience and would come back again. Thank you for accommodating us. read more

I had my second massage at Serenity today and I think this is my new go-to place! I used to go to a similar, small place in San Mateo, but decided to find something closer to home. I've been to Watercourse Way but prefer a smaller operation. Katie at the front desk is always so friendly and warm! She even texted with me once when I missed the waiting list email to try to fit me in when they had cancellations! She offers water before and after your massage and a free mask even if you already have one (cute masks to top it off!) :-) I had my first massage with Manee and she had a great technique and flow! My second massage was with Shannon and she was great as well! Shannon was able to tell I clenched my jaw based on how my shoulders felt and gave me a jaw/face massage which I've never had! Both were great massages! Scheduling is easy and so is paying/tipping! Try them out!! read more

Serenity has been my go-to day spa for several years. They have always treated me well. I especially want to recognize Manee who is a highly skilled and experienced massage therapist. She is extremely talented and professional. She always listens and really cares about her clients' individual concerns. She always customizes her massages to my body. I definitely feel the value and difference of her amazing talent. Even though I'm no longer in the area, I still make the drive to see her. I love Serenity Day spa because of its cozy and homey feel. They feel like family. They also offer great monthly specials and packages on their services which I really appreciate. Thank you Manee and Serenity Day spa! read more

I had a wonderful massage with Candy. She seems to intuitively know where my body needed the most attention, and she has a very healing touch. It is more than just a massage; you feel energetically restored. Afterwards, she gave me some great tips for keeping my body healthy. I sent my sister to go see her- she also had a great experience. She had neck pain for years and it was finally gone immediately after seeing Candy. I refer a lot of friends and family to her now. Looking forward to my next visit, thank you! read more

Just had an amazing firm Swedish massage with Amy! It really was more like massage therapy because she was so helpful in stretching out my problem areas. The first time I came was for a facial years ago and it made a deep impression so I finally came back for a massage and it didn't disappoint! I've already booked my next appointment, this place is a keeper! Katie the receptionist is also incredibly warm and easy to talk to! Scheduling was a breeze - she squeezed me in last minute when I really needed a treatment, so thankful. As a side note, they also give out the cutest masks there to wear (and keep) during the treatment, very thoughtful. read more

Shout out to Annie at Serenity for consistently awesome esthetician services! I get a regular lash tint, brow tint, and brow wax from her, and sometimes leg waxing too. I didn't realize until Annie that waxing should not shred the skin off your legs. (Who knew?) Annie is very, very good (and works Sundays!) plus has an amazing, fun personality that I look forward to every time. I am extremely particular about my eyebrows, and Annie has really nailed the shape and color that I like. Katie is the best receptionist in America, handling everything and everyone with skill and a smile. You cannot go wrong at Serenity. I was a customer of Teri's at TLC spa before Serenity (and she still sees clients occasionally) but Serenity has expanded on her vision, and is now guided by Sarah. There are multiple treatment rooms at the Atherton location. Massages, facials, etc. All the staff are incredible. It's a nice, quiet, small place with personal service and excellent professionals. Leave the big salon attitude to places like La Belle and Skin Spirit. Not to mention their prices, omg. I'll take Serenity any day, and especially Annie. She's coming to the desert island with me, to maintain those brows. read more

After reading some of the great reviews, I booked the Trio Relaxing Massage - "Our Trio Massage combines with hot stone, feet reflexology and aroma oil into one amazing massage designed to relax you from head to toe." Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience. My massage therapist was running late, so the receptionist offered to start things off by using a massage gun. It was a bit uncomfortable and felt rushed...and I wasn't sure if she was even trained. Things started to go downhill from there. I got yelled at because I was under the "wrong" sheet on the table and the only positive way I can describe the massage is "vigorous". She had one speed/pressure only, even after I asked her for a little less pressure. If you like deep tissue massages, she is probably great, but this experience was not for me. In addition, there was no hot stone included...unless they're counting the hot towel used to wipe off the oil. She also applied lengthy pressure on various points...not sure if these were intended to be acupressure points?, but it was not enjoyable. Sorry to say that I will not be returning for another service. read more

The Serenity Spa Atherton was an extraordinary surprise! My daughter took me there for a Mother's Day massage before going to dinner. I had the most relaxing massage that I have ever had. I have gone for regular massages, spa massages and have gone to spas at hotels when traveling on vacation and this ranks at the very top! Before my daughter and I even got out the door, we were planning next time. Lisa was amazing! Thank you! read more

My facial at Serenity Spa was outstanding. It was so peaceful and relaxing; Sarah did an excellent job. I hadn't had a facial in a number of years, partly because the last place did a high pressure job of trying to sell me products. There was absolutely no pressure whatsoever. The emphasis was on doing a skillful and relaxing facial. I highly recommend both Sarah and Serenity Spa, and I will definitely go back! read more

It is very rare that I write YELP reviews, but I give Sarah and Serenity Day Spa 5 stars as the purifying facials are the best! Sarah really studies your skin and knows what products/techniques will produce the best results. She is phenomenal at facials! read more

Last month I made a private party reservation for my birthday with my sisters. So glad I was able to get in before Covid restrictions got stricter again. From the day I called until the day of the service, the owner and Katie were nothing but accommodating and genuinely kind. This little gem of a day spa is my go-to for massage. The massage therapists are kind, calming, and skilled in their craft. The effects of the deep tissue massages leave me breathing and moving easier for many days afterwards. Manee and Pim are both great! read more

How odd! My negative review from three years ago was taken down. Don't want to misjudge, but I definitely don't recall deleting it. My complaint was I called in advance to check if I could run 10min late. Front desk said it was alright. My technician said we'd be cut a few minutes short and that was fine for me. Little did I know I would receive half the treatment for the full price. I came in because I needed extractions. That didn't happen at all. I brought it up nicely with who I believe is the owner. She was unapologetic and I had a civil disagreement with her and paid anyway. After posting the review, she gave me a nasty response, blaming the customer. read more

As a Mama, it's my right to to get a relaxing facial with best aesthetician! And there's no one better than Victoria! As someone who doesn't wear make-up except for lipstick, I'm very picky about who I let near my very sensitive skin because what you see is what you get with me. Victoria has sensitive skin too so she knows what it's like and is extra careful and gentle! And on top of that she's intuitive with a great sense of humor. 100% trust! read more

It's really a serenity time at Serenity day spa, best experience ever , a friendly professional place!!

Excellent facial and massage- a great way to spend my morning felt renewed after both.

I am a fan! Before coming here, I loved getting facials and massages, but had been to so many other places that try to sell products after (sometimes even during) the sessions which is the opposite of relaxing for me. Serenity, however, doesn't do any of that. Tried the microdermabrasion & facial first. Brittany was my esthetician. She was friendly, warm, funny, helpful and honest. The second time I had her, she didn't think I needed the service I had originally booked so she charged me less. She also put me at ease for my treatment, and gave me a big hug for my upcoming wedding before I left. Just all around a lovely lady. The rooms are immaculate, the atmosphere is relaxing, the decor is tasteful and the services are amazing. They are also on time, and my communication with them has always been easy whether via phone, email or web booking. I would recommend Serenity & Brittany to anyone in a heartbeat! read more

I arrived early for a 75min massage with Manee. She took me back late. The massage was somewhat mechanical with too much time massaging through the blanket. Also too much time between changing to different body areas. The massage ended on time but was only 70min. When I went to checkout I was asked how massage was and I mentioned that massage was only 70min but person said nothing. I left less of a tip then I would have if better massage and for the full 75min. read more

First time client - just had a deep tissue massage with Theresa that was phenomenal. This was my first time having a massage post covid and it did not disappoint. Usually I have to ask for more pressure with deep tissue but Theresa was absolutely perfect. Will definitely be back! read more

Sarah did my signature facial with her soft magic hands. My black heads and white heads were all removed. Great experience.

Due to my time and commute restrictions, I'd lost touch with my favorite massage therapist of all time: Manee. After suffering several repetitive use injuries years ago--and then compounding that with Swimmer's Shoulder--I've become a discerning connoisseur of massage therapists. It is hard for me to over-state how Manee stands out in terms of skill, intelligence, her wide-ranging toolbox of techniques, compassion, and sincere kindness. While I'd probably never turn away any type of massage, I lack time and money to waste on a session that will not create some lasting change in my muscle "stickiness." Oh, and give my overwrought nervous system a break. I'm thrilled to find Manee at Serenity Day Spa. (Next time, I will check out other services at this appealing spa; it's about time for me to focus on my skincare, etc.) read more

I was able to make a last minute reservation for an hour deep tissue massage with Jun. So grateful. I was greeted by the friendly receptionist, who brought me water and treats. When I met my masseuse, Jun, she gently shook my hand and my first thought was- oh no. I don't think she's going to give me a strong enough massage. Boy, was I wrong! Jun immediately got into my tense areas: neck and shoulders. When she really got into my neck, I felt it down to my knee caps. Ooooooooh. She really focused on my back because that's where I needed it most. It was apparent that she read my notes because she used lighter pressure where I asked. I asked her a few questions, which she answered and then she was quiet, which I so appreciated. She also included a wild orange essence oil for free. At the end of the hour, I thought- next time, I have to get 90 minutes. The space is warm and welcoming. Beautiful but unpretentious. Jun was sweet, mindful and strong. I feel ready to get back to mama duties. And I will definitely return for a longer massage next month. read more
