Seems weird to write a review about a business when I only came into contact with them…read moreinvoluntarily because of my expired registration (my fault, obviously, not theirs), but the guy who was able to tow my car to my driveway was very kind, drove safely, took thorough pics or video (I couldn't tell which) of my car's condition prior to putting it on the truck. I also appreciated the clean cab and good A/C on a hot day, and it's nice that they have modern technology for taking payment so I got the receipt texted to me immediately. If I ever need a tow that is not mandated by the police, I would call them! I'm not sure the name of the guy who I dealt with, but thank you for being so nice to me!

He called Export and asked if I could get his car for him. They gave him the exact instructions he needed which made the process smooth. After work my girlfriend and I went down there, took care of everything, and walked out back to get the car. Not thinking I asked, "The keys are in the car, right?" The manager made a funny joke about what I just said, and in that moment I realized how screwed my friend was! Without thinking in his mad rush to Logan, he took his keys with him. Matt, the friendly manager there asked me where I lived. He then offered to tow the car BACK FREE OF CHARGE. He followed us home and dropped the car off back to the very spot it was towed from, free of charge. I couldn't believe how friendly and kind he was. He sympathized that he's been in similar situations before and didn't want my friend to get hit with such a huge bill. For a towing company especially, this was a very friendly, positive and customer-centric experience. It must be hard working for a towing company, but this company is the best I've ever worked with. Don't quote me on getting free tows, but the guys at Export know how to treat and talk to people, especially in such high-stress situations as having to pick up a towed car and not have the keys to drive the thing home. They ended up sending Mario from Stoneham Towing out to look at it. I could not be happier with his service, WAY above and beyond the call of duty. He not only fixed the stupid trailer, but he helped my wife and I secure it to the truck and get our car properly stowed on it. U Haul makes that process sound easy, but it took easily an hour and a half, and Mario was exceedingly polite, friendly, and knowledgeable throughout. Did I mention he didn't need to do any of this? He was there to fix the trailer and go, but he stayed with us and took incredibly good care of us. Didn't charge us a cent (he does get paid by U Haul for coming out, but he billed it in such a way that there was no cost to us). We were on our way to Michigan and he called later to see how our trip was going. Just amazingly kind, with great service. I'm pretty sure that I woke somebody up when I called early on a Monday to schedule a tow for today (Wednesday), but the guy could not have been friendlier...and that was also true once they arrived. My car was in an underground garage beneath my building, and had been sitting for over a year; these guys brought the stuff needed to not only fill the tires but jump the car, a smaller vehicle to tow it out of the garage, and a full size tow truck to bring it to the dealership...and despite all of this extra stuff, they had the whole thing knocked out in about 15 minutes. They were friendly and courteous. They charged me $65 for the jump/inflate/pre-tow, which may be sort of pricey, but they had two guys doing that work, so I feel like it's reasonable -- and honestly, I have no idea how I'd have gotten the car out of there if they didn't do it. The tow to the dealership in Watertown was $125. I feel like it was worth every cent. I'm leaving Boston, but if I weren't, and if I ever ran into trouble here and needed a tow service, I'd definitely be using these guys.

Pat's towing is the company the city of Somerville uses for its towing needs. My car was towed…read moreduring a snow emergency in 2022, so I called Pat's to pick it up. While unexpected towing is never a great thing, I do think Pat's warrants a low rating from me based on my following experience: -the pricing is not transparent. On the city of Somerville's website, it states that towing for a snow emergency is 106, plus 36 a day for storage. However, when I got to pats, I also had an extra $50 charge added to my vehicle because they had further transported it to a different facility after they had towed it. I didn't ask them to do this? The car was in their possession from Friday AM to Sunday AM, and there was less than 24 hours from when the snow emergency ended (Saturday) to when I picked it up on Sunday. I can understand needing to move cars if they're stored long term, but two days and less than 24 hrs past the end of a snow emergency is not long term. This price is not available on their website or the city of Somerville's, and when I called Pats over the weekend, no one mentioned this relocation fee. -Car damage: Prior to my car being towed by Pat's, it was in great condition--it's a 2018 with less than 65k miles on it. When I picked the car up from Pat's, my battery was COMPLETELY dead. My windshield wipers had been raised upright by the company--I don't know if this is necessary when you tow a car or not? My battery was so dead that multiple jumps were needed, and a few days later the battery died again. Additionally, the touchscreen and entertainment system inside my car will not start anymore, despite being reset. This damage 100% is a result of my car being towed. -the only reason for a 2 star review vs 1 star is that the gentlemen who helped me at Pat's once I was there were very nice and professional. I was polite and professional to them and this was reciprocated. As having your car towed is a stressful situation, I appreciated that their personnel were nice, polite, and professional--not adding more stress to an already messed up situation. Overall: I understand that Somerville needs to tow cars during a snow emergency and I'm not disputing that. However, the non transparent pricing, plus the fact that my car's wipers were messed with, my previously pristine car is now damaged, and my car will at a minimum need a new battery and possibly a new electrical system or touchscreen/stereo/navigation unit--is highly messed up and not acceptable for a towing company.

In 1999 this place was run Mafia -style. My car was hit by a stolen car (Somerville a bit more…read moredicey in that era) and was towed here. Within 24 hours this place or their henchmen had lifted/stolen the trunk stereo system from the car. Car was a total loss and so was the stereo system after it got towed here. Somerville is obviously getting paid off or in some kind of corrupt relationship with this company to still be using them. Shame on Somerville City government and shame on this place.
