Unknown to any of us, street cleaning took place the other day and one of my roommates had to fly across the country the morning his car was towed by the city. He called Export and asked if I could get his car for him. They gave him the exact instructions he needed which made the process smooth. After work my girlfriend and I went down there, took care of everything, and walked out back to get the car. Not thinking I asked, "The keys are in the car, right?" The manager made a funny joke about what I just said, and in that moment I realized how screwed my friend was! Without thinking in his mad rush to Logan, he took his keys with him. Matt, the friendly manager there asked me where I lived. He then offered to tow the car BACK FREE OF CHARGE. He followed us home and dropped the car off back to the very spot it was towed from, free of charge. I couldn't believe how friendly and kind he was. He sympathized that he's been in similar situations before and didn't want my friend to get hit with such a huge bill. For a towing company especially, this was a very friendly, positive and customer-centric experience. It must be hard working for a towing company, but this company is the best I've ever worked with. Don't quote me on getting free tows, but the guys at Export know how to treat and talk to people, especially in such high-stress situations as having to pick up a towed car and not have the keys to drive the thing home. I'll use Export any time I'm in need of towing services. Never been treated better by a towing company in my life! read more

After waiting for AAA for 2+ hours, I was desperate to find a tow place that would drive me almost 40 miles to my house. I called Export Enterprises and they were very responsive and gave me a quote right over the phone. Everyone I spoke to was professional and very helpful! Export cruises around looking for victims. This morning they towed a minivan belonging to a disabled person from a handicapped space, even though it had a valid handicapped sticker visible. Who would do such a thing?? As a result, the owner was unable to collect his granddaughter to bring her to school. He is co-guardian with his estranged wife who decided to use this incident as an excuse to terminate the arrangement, which was practically their only remaining contact. The granddaughter is devastated. I don't know how I would sleep at night if I ran a business like this. The staff are rude and confrontational, too. Be prepared for unpleasant, degrading treatment. As for your grossly misleading reply, A), the building manager did NOT call this in as it was after hours. You deliberately chose to remove the vehicle on your own initiative and we were there at 7:30, not 9:30, so add lying to your other charms. And, B) you barged into a light exchange of badinage and belligerently attempted to escalate the situation which absolutely neither required nor benefited from your unwelcome input. Horrendous? Please... Per all your inappropriate DMs, can you just let it go? Yelp doesn't let you edit a response to a bad review but I can add as much additional information as I want, like the time your company towed the guy who supplies the vending machines in the building, or the pizza delivery guy, or the elderly man delivering groceries to his even more elderly mother. Let's be real, getting towed blows there's no two ways around it. I happened to get towed from the Malden T Station parking lot one fine evening recently, because *someone* complained that I was "parked too close to them" and they couldn't get out. I call bullshit, but I digress. Anyway, I found out that my car was at Export, so I made my way over there after calling their main line, and someone on the line telling me that they were in fact open 24 hours. So I hopped in a cap and headed out to the middle of nowhere aka some main road in Medford. This was at like, 9pm- and I still had to make an hour+ drive to NH that evening so you could say I was not in the best of spirits. I got to the Export lot, and lo and behold they were not in fact open "24 hrs". All the doors were locked and closed. By some miracle though, two of the tow truck drivers were just pulling in to fill up their tanks. They were very nice, and were kind enough to help me get my car, despite it really not being their job to process my file. But, no one else was there. The two drivers- John and I'm not sure the other one's name- were very kind and eased my frustrations by taking care of the situation in as timely and professional of a way as possible- which is saying a lot since I'm sure they still had a long night of work ahead of them. They were both really really kind and nice and made an otherwise shitty situation actually bearable. Minus one star simply because I was told they were open 24 hours and they were in fact not- and if those two drivers hadn't been there, I would've been stranded in Medford at night with no car... which equals nearly my worst nightmare, let's be real. read more

My card died on my way home in the middle of the road. I could see my front door from where the car was stuck. I called AAA and 1+ hours later they still hadn't assigned me a truck. Then Export showed up; they got me home safe and quickly. I really appreciate the service and interaction. I'll be saving their number in my phone for future emergencies. read more

I lost my car key and needed a tow to a Honda dealership. Dominique answered the phone and rather than just getting me the tow, she asked what the issue with my car was, so I told her, and she very nicely suggested I call a car key service who will come right to my house. She got me the number and she saved me a lot of time and stress. Not many companies are honest and willing to give you advice on a better deal. Much appreciated. I may review this again after i actually deal with them face to face, but i'm boggled by the high reviews. I was in an accident and cannot get around. Apparently they wont let the insurance appraisers look at your car without a release form confirming that it is in fact your car. I get the need to be thorough and safe and can maybe see instances in which this protects the car owner, but more often than not, it just impedes progress and makes an already stressful situation worse. Not every one can secure another form of transportation after an accident, or worse, physically get around after a car crash, so for your car to be sitting around collecting hundreds of dollars in storage costs because they will not work with people who physically cannot get in a cab or get a ride over there to sign a release form is frankly, sick and insensitive and bordering on a scam. Not sure why a license, copy of registration and the form via fax isnt sufficient. Or, if this is to protect the vehicle owner and not a scam to victimize people who have been towed then why wouldnt the drivers have clipboards with these forms to sign on site of accident?? You know, when the drivers, cars and proofs of ID are all right there...What a novel idea!.... -----------------------------------Old review above, New review Below--------------------------------- Okay so upon dealing with Export towing (which apparently is related to Pat's Towing in cambridge which i have had great experience with) in person, i had to change my rating. However i left part of the review up because perhaps they can consider alternative solutions to the problem i had faced.... Anywhoooo... they were very helpful in person and the curt woman that i spoke to on the phone was not the person i was dealing with once i got there. The employees were very helpful, explained everything i would most likely deal with down the road if the car was considered a total loss and helped make sure all the proper paperwork was in place so that i would not have to come down again. Being towed is NEVER fun! Alot of people yell at the tow truck drivers its really not there faults for doing their jobs. I do have to say that thank goodness, we caught him going down the street cause who wants to try and find the lot in the early am. The driver #87 (on my receipt) was so nice and polite. Towed my sisters car from a 3 hour parking lot after being there for 5 minutes. They were in such a rush to make a quick buck they didn't use a flat bed and now her car is undriveable. I never expected to say this in a democratic country, but this company just used a taxpayer supported police department to extort me out of $300. They stole my car while i was working hard laboring to make $38 in tips. They towed my car and there was no sign indicating a snow emergency. This is theft plain and simple. This is the same company as Pat's Towing, which you should keep in mind if you get your car towed from Somerville instead of Medford. My car was towed during the recent snow emergency - my bad. I called Pat's/Export Towing TWICE asking after my car, and both times they denied having it. I called the other tow companies in the area, and they didn't have it either. Thus, I had been lead to believe that my car had been stolen. I thus embarked on a day-long adventure that only met its resolution at the Medford Police Department. There, they called Pat's/Export for me, and lo and behold, they had the car. Once there I asked why they had denied having my car, and the response was, "It's hard to hear over the phone, and you said Somerville, not Medford." Yes, that is why I asked for a plate lookup and used the phonetic alphabet. I was not impressed. read more

I just saw a flatbed from Export carrying a minivan hit a raised crosswalk going way too fast. The minivan jumped up at least a foot in the air and landed nearly off the side of the flatbed. The driver must have been in a hurry because he blew through a red light moments before. This happened at the intersection of Curtis Street and Highland Ave in Somerville. read more

I'm conflicted how many stars to give, because I had both great experience, and awful experience with this company. My car was stolen and left on side of road. Export Towing was contacted by local police department to move from the street. I called and spoke with woman who helped arrange for someone to meet me at tow lot to retrieve my vehicle and pay the $143. Steve was the tow truck driver who met me, and while we couldn't figure out why it wouldn't start, it wasn't for lack of effort by Steve (later found out thief put diesel in the tank). Steve exhausted all options trying to get it to start so I decided to have my insurance company tow it in the morning. Steve was great - he was kind, helpful, and an excellent representation of someone you would want working for your company and communicating with customers. It wasn't until the next day the issues began. I made arrangements for my vehicle to be picked up, and that's when they demanded I come back in person to sign paperwork and pay. I informed him I already paid, I just need to get my vehicle to dealership, he said wasn't aware of payment being made but demanded I come back in person. Then he said to call back after 10am to talk to manager so I did. This person was by far the most incompetent manager I've ever talked to (I believe his name was Mark), all he wanted to do was argue and interrupt me. I explained I was already there, paid for the tow, and now just want to get it to dealership to figure out what was wrong with it. I think he's become callused to customers and their situations -- I just had my vehicle stolen and I'm being yelled at by the manager at the towing company. He then said I had to pay additional $100+ to allow for my car to be picked up, and STILL would have to come in person. I attempted to explain I was an essential worker, cannot get into an Uber to sign paperwork and requested the ability to sign via email, online, fax, etc. and that they have my license, credit card #, etc. especially since I WAS ALREADY THERE. His response -- he was an essential worker too and he was able to make it there (!!!) so I should be able to as well. Well his car wasn't just stolen.... anyway my insurance company showed up and Mark refused to release my vehicle. He said if I had a problem I should have called him night before, like I was supposed to know he existed and would create a problem the next day.. anyway after the ordeal of Mark holding my car hostage because I couldn't make it in person, I had no choice but caved and paid them another $175 to tow my vehicle to dealership. Mark could learn something from his employees; be kind to customers. Oh and also Mark said he didn't care that I would write a poor review online, so I am making sure I do :) read more

We recently had our car towed in Cambridge and this company ruined our all wheel drive car by towing it incorrectly on two wheels. The rear differential and other parts cost a small fortune. In the beginning I tried calling daily as my insurance provider, Gieco, advised me to in order to get their insurance information. They put me on hold each time, no one calls back, and the staff just couldn't be bothered by saying repeatedly that "the manager will call you back." It still hasn't happened weeks later and I am still left without their information. It's such a shame to be treated this poorly when we paid the tow fee, where pleasant to deal with and they won't even help us/our insurance carrier. Our insurance company calls and call and calls and can't get a response. I feel totally helpless and wish there was at least one rep who could at least respond and help us with this. read more

This is Pat's Towing. Most of their business is towing illegally parked cars, and the people who man the phones are confused by anything else. If you call, you will be treated as a criminal. If they are the company that tows your car after an accident, you will needs to go to the police station and get written permission to tow your car. They will not let the adjuster in to examine the car. They also charge $90.00 if you dare have another tow truck company tow the car off the lot. These are NOT people you want to deal with after an accident. read more

While trying to merge into a rotary located at the mouth of 93 and Medford sq. I noticed an aggressive tow driver boxing me out. After realizing that he was not going to let me in I stopped trying. It was at that point that I realized that he was screaming obscenities at me. This was in stand still traffic for all to hear. I rolled down my window to find out why he was so pissed and he told me to go F**k myself and then said that he was going to stab me. That's right STAB ME! I was in a company vehicle and not about to engage him in a screaming match. In all of my life I have never been spoken to that way. Especially by someone with a company name located just below his Beat Red Face. This "man" is a menace and I'm sure this is not the first complaint about him. He was driving a large tow truck. When I called to retrieved my personal items they refused me and said pay $311 before I could have access. They were holding my property hostage.
