Driver(s) don't know how to yield into traffic. Almost caused my family to crash because he didn't yield at all off H1 and Waikele

I don't now how he did it, but Tony was able to put the car into a small townhouse parking stall next to a curb.

I'm writing this as my service from Empire has just been done (even before the stated time)…read more. I called AAA for our vehicle being left on the roadside as it gave out on me while driving it. I had to leave it parked over night and decided I would have it towed back to our residence since our mechanic is closed til Tuesday. Denton called me as he located my vehicle (not by an address but only by landmark). I was home and ready to go down to meet him but he suggested since the vehicle is being towed back to our residence, he'll just tow it and meet me at home. Perfect. He came so quickly (roughly 10 minutes), unloaded the vehicle and wished us a nice day. Of course he's a local dude and we take care of our local people so he got a bottle of cold water and a treat from our bakery (special cinnamon treat made only during the holidays- our Mauna Kea bread). He even knows our bakery!! Everything was done so effortlessly and efficiently that I hope when we need service from AAA again, that Denton will be the one to help us. Denton, mahalo for your awesome service. I hope you come to pick up our vehicle when I need it towed to our mechanic on Tuesday.

When that also failed, AAA had Empire send a tow truck. The driver was kind and helpful during this stressful time. The lady dispatcher at Empire was also so helpful and kept me updated. It's never pleasant having car problems, but Empire made it bearable. Mahalo!

We were rear-ended in an accident where the other driver allegedly blacked out, which caused us to…read morehit the car in front of us. Our vehicle was left undriveable, it wouldn't even start, so our insurance company assigned X5 Towing and told us to call them for updates. Their estimate via the app said it could take up to 65 minutes. We had already been waiting nearly 30 minutes with no word from them, so we called. And called. And called. Eight separate times, to be exact. Each time, no one answered, it just went to voicemail. Meanwhile, their Yelp page claims they're open 24 hours. Yet in the middle of an emergency, we couldn't get through to anyone (not even a call back). Out of need, we called two other towing companies. Both answered right away, both were polite, and both gave us realistic times (one in 25 minutes, the other in 15 minutes). We went with the one who could come in 15 minutes, and they showed up just like they said. That's the difference between being there when people need you and just being "available" in name only. X5 Towing failed us when it mattered most. One star. Update to their response: Hi Kristi, Thanks for your response, but I want to be clear; my frustration wasn't just about the insurance notes or your reception issues. It was about being stranded after an accident, calling your company eight separate times, and never getting a single answer or call back. As a customer, I don't know (and shouldn't have to know) the details of how the job is dispatched or what notes the insurance did or didn't include. All I know is that we needed help, your company was assigned, and when I reached out, I received silence. That's what created such a disappointing experience. Other towing companies answered right away and were able to assist promptly, which shows it is possible to handle situations like this with better communication. Even if you couldn't get to me quickly, a simple answered call, callback, follow-up, text, voicemail, or update would have gone a long way. I understand things happen in your business, but placing the blame entirely on insurance and cell service instead of acknowledging the impact on the customer feels dismissive. A more empathetic and accountable approach would make a huge difference.

To sumn it up: these people know how to treat kama'aina and do car drivers good…read more Ho brah I was driving down the H2 going up the hill and all of a sudden my car no like work, was going 60, then 50, then 30, then 20 so I had to pull over. I pulled over to a little spot between the lines and turned my hazards on. Brah I was so nervous, I tried calling the roadside assistance (no answah off on Hawaii time yea ) I call at least 3 other towing places (no can, no how) call Tip Tows and sistah locks in, asking me all kine questions, giving me suggestions, doing the best she can! She fo tell me her guy gonna pick em up tomorrow morning, she texts me the details, I give the location and the next day her drivah Braddah KEONI ( ) hits me up and lets me know he's on the way, braddah man came over Ho all dread head braddah one hammah daps me up, unloads my car and even drives it into the repair shop! After a nightmare with AAA and their contracted tow trucks, I went thru GEICO who sent Tip Tows…read more Keoni was the driver and he literally arrived 2 minutes after I hung up with GEICO. He was super professional, shaking my hand and introducing himself. He hooked up my little car on the flat bed so carefully like it was his own car, and he did it so quickly. He used a flat bed tow truck (not the other type that drags your car) and towed my car to the dealer. I followed behind him and he was a great driver. I know most of the time you can't choose which company shows up for your car trouble, but after having to deal with some of the questionable shenanigans with other companies/tow yards, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND you choose Tip Tows if that's available to you. On a side note. If HPD calls a tow truck and you also call AAA, the HPD contracted truck will probably get there first, so you'll have to pay for that tow up front,
