They have stopped trying as far as I'm concerned. First impressions upon entering place: to out dated, dirty, and wait person was abrupt and not pleasant. I had to sweep crumbs off the table and my seat. We let our waitress know up front that we preferred separate tabs. We were there during lunch hour and the place was practically empty (red flag right there). At the end of the meal she listed us all on a piece of paper with a number by it and wanted the last four digits of our credit card. What? Most of us ended up paying with cash just to get out of there. It was a ridiculous and very unprofessional way to present a bill. I have had better pizza elsewhere. We were pleasantly surprised with our visit to Arvada Villa. The service was beyond EXCELLENT! She was friendly, knowledgeable, and honest with recommendations. The food was delicious; the best Chicken Marsala I've ever had. My husband had the lasagna, and while tasty he said it was a bit heavy on the ricotta and needed more sauce. The do not have a kids menu, but our girls were able to share an entree and it was plenty. I'd happily give 5 stars but it needs a good clean and the tables are way too close together. Pizza is a little pricy but super good! I ordered the Arvada Villa Super Pizza, Large. $15 for takeout. The guy that took my order was very over the phone was short and rushed me off the phone. NO ONE has written a review for Arvada Villa yet? Craziness. This is by far the best pizza I've ever had. I grew up eating this pizza as this is a family-owned place that's been around for like 40 years or something. Homemade pastas are delicious and quality of meat is excellent. I've lived in Los Angeles for over 20 years now and I still haven't found a pizza here to rival Arvada Villa. We love this place! We come here every year to watch the Super Bowl, plus some special occasions. We used to drive across town for it, and now we live close enough we can go more often. My mother used to come here in high school, so there's some history here for us. Great homemade food, the best pasta sauce you will ever have, and they have takeout and frozen pizzas ready to go. A gem! I have gone to this establishment since I was a pup, it is my favorite pizza in the state (especially the sausage and mushroom)! Homemade pastas, meatballs and sausage are also delish. It may be a little expensive but it's a small business and they make everything from scratch. The one redeeming thing about this place was the service. Our server was attentive and friendly. The food, however, is bland, boring, and quite expensive. The bread was dry, cold, untoasted, and served AFTER the meal. The five pieces of ravioli that I was served most certainly were frozen at some point in their lives, and the sauce tasted like garlicky ketchup. If it were possible to give zero stars, I would. Came with about 7 family members. Hostess was very rude from the moment we walked in. Apparently we rubbed the hostess the wrong way because she went out of her way not to seat us. One of my family members shared that the hostess had called someone in our party a bitch when we decided to walk out - after she repeatedly sat smaller groups/couples who arrived after us at large tables. Went to Lil' Nicks instead where we were treated like royalty! Won't ever go back...not sure what the draw is with a first impression like that. Being a regular here seemed to be key. Super small and quaint with that mom n pop feel. Had the veal and home made spaghetti noodles. They were great! If you are used to store-bought noodles I would not suggest getting home made. They are much different and many people aren't used to the different texture/taste. The sauce was a little boring but I like a ton of different spices in mine. The number 1 thing with this restaurant is the service. It was really great! We had our two kiddos that are pretty young, but the people around us and the waitress were super nice. They treated us so well and even gave our son a cookie. The prices for the food seem really high for what you get, but perhaps I'm missing something? That is why there is only 3 stars in this review. We skipped drinks and dessert because one plate of Chicken Marsala costs $19! We'll probably be back but we'll be sticking to the cheaper items like we did this trip. read more

Great place when you're in the mood for traditional Italian! The pizza has a nice buttery thin crust. The homemade pasta noodles have a great texture. The sauce is the deep rich type that really clings to the noodles. The sausage sandwich is unique in that it's patties versus link. The meat has a nice spice to it. My husband ordered the house chianti which was a prefect compliment to the food and he appreciated the generous pour. Oh and the double chocolate cake. It's surprising very light. Soooo interesting joint! Walked in. No one greeted us, no one came to the door. So 4 mins later & after trying to adjust our eyes to the dark place we sat ourselves. All lights r set at a ONE on dimness. Waitress brought us water, we asked for straws. She replied with, "do u know what you want!" So we ordered & then I asked for straws again. She replied," I know! I heard you the 1st time!" Next here came our straws. Straws r not in a paper sleeves. They r sitting up at the bar for all to sneeze & cough on, in a tall glass mug.. Finally the tiny lady came to "greet" us if I wanna call it that. I believe she is one of the owners. She asked if we wanted salad with our pasta. One of us said-yes, with 1000island drsg. Me and my husband go to this place every now and then for their sausage sandwiches, that are under cooked and the chips are stale by the way because it's right down the street. My husband walked into his establishment to make a to go order and he abruptly tells my husband we only have pizzas and salads pizzas and salads. My husband was very upset with his tone and one of his employees apologized saying he is old and grumpy. sound like someone needs a reality check on manners. We will never go back. When I called to let Arvada Villa know, they argued with me, and I had to argue back, they did not give me an acceptable resolution. Fuck these assholes, they are rude, nasty, and unwilling to make things right. How can you get food without sauce and the meat you ordered and have to fight for your food or your money back. Excellent Pizza Pie here....Been here many many times for 20 years

It's been about six months since our last visit. Went regular until the wife had to undergo cancer treatment. Tonight was our first visit since she got better. We almost walked out when we saw the outrageous price increases on the menu. Honestly $17 for lasagna is way out of line. I figured we are already here so we'll eat. It was edible and missing the sausage or meatballs that used to be part of the meal. The entire staff has changed and service was not up to par. The only one we recognized was the owner. Just as big a prick as he's always been. No change there. In all honesty, I think the place has a new owner, and the old one stuck around to "help" them out. We have been loyal customers for over ten years even though the owner is a first class prick. The food and service kept us coming back. Tonight we made our final visit. We won't return. Damn shame to see the place go to hell. Perhaps Pietra's on 44th still serves good Italian for a fair price. read more

This restaurant is a disappointment. I've had the pizza at the Arvada Villa many times over the years. In the past the homemade pizza was good. The crust was crisp, the toppings were generous, and the price was reasonable. Unfortunately, during the past few visits my food has been gross. The crust gets soggy before half the pizza is gone. Our pizza was tasteless and had no cheese! Additionally, the service is not good. For example, when the waitress brought out the steaming hot pizza on a metal tray I had no utensil available with which to serve it. Meanwhile, our waitress left and another employee was simply standing at the front counter staring into space. The decor is cluttered and dingy. The chandelier lights are always very dim, probably to hide the thick layer of dust present on each light and the collectibles throughout the restaurant. The owner of the restaurant sat at the bar watching a basketball game on tv and talking to one table of customers the whole time we were there, but didn't check in once with any other patron in the place. Save your money and get pizza or Italian somewhere else. read more

I am so excited the Villa is under new owner ship and things are better than ever! Hands down my favorite pizza and pasta place. The new owner is a waitress that has been working there forever and the manager who also cooks all the pasta (he is an amazing cook!) has also been there a long time. They have both really turned the atmosphere and food around. Don't get me wrong I have always loved the Villa but they have worked tirelessly to really make this old gem shine again like it used too!
