The food was authentic Italian. The service was slow but we were a large group (20 plus) and they aren't set up to handle large groups. However the waitress worked very hard and did a good job. The ambiance is just ok. They ran out of soup so gave us a lot of Italian salad with good cheese and pepperoni and warm bread to make up for it. Cute family owned Italian spot. They make most of their stuff in house and their spaghetti noodles are doughy and fresh. Pizza crust was light and airy. Marinara is fresh prepared every day as well as the meatballs, which are huge. Has a cozy vibe, service wasn't super fast but we were happy to wait for how great the food was. Came here based on family recommendation. They haven't been in years. Wonder why? There is an old super weird plastic looking lady running this place. She has no personality and certainly you could find a better waitress. We waited FOREVER to be seated. She's running from table to table small taking and building her ego. Nasty waitress. She can't be bothered to answer questions about the wine or food. She loves her "regulars" so She's still at these tables yapping while not filling drinks or caring at all that she's the worst service in town. The food here is meh. It's basic Italian with a terrible server and maybe owner. Who knows. Something very odd here. Food is bleh, server doesn't know how to serve, or she only cares for the regulars. We waited forever to get a table in an empty restaurant, waited forever for drinks, waited forever for food, and that plastic faced lady is just the worst. If she is an owner good luck to you guys. We heard there was new ownership so we gave them a try. The first time the food was good, not great but we we there for literally 2 1/2 hours. Service was crazy slow at one point we timed how long it took for drink refills 34 minutes: it was a little busy but every table around us received food ate and left and and we were still sitting there waiting. A month later we decided to give it another try thinking it was a bad night. We were seated brought waters and menus and once again it was 37 minutes before the waitress came back and took our order. Food is OK but expect to spend a long time there. The second time other tables were also slow with their food. I understand with COVID places are struggling with help but the waitresses were hanging out with friends at tables and leaving the rest of us waiting for long periods of time. This is my favorite pizza place in Arvada! They have consistently had excellent food every time I have gone. I can tell they actually care about what they are serving and take pride in there food and use quality ingredients. The staff has always been polite and has kept things clean and abided by all of the regulations with the pandemic. This is the spot for sure. read more

I had been to this place before and wasn't impressed. However, I saw that there were new owners and several five star reviews on yelp, so I decided to give it another try. My mistake! I'm not sure what other people ordered, the ones who are leaving five stars, but the food I had was terrible. I ordered a salad and a cannoli/calzone. The cannoli had sausage, bacon, peppers, and almost no cheese. The outer part was overcooked. Also, the prices are ridiculously high for the portion size. I am giving one star because the service was good. At one point, the cook came out of the kitchen and I was dismayed to see that he wasn't wearing a hairnet over his mustache and full beard. When our server took payment at the counter, she was wearing rubber gloves from cutting onions. She didn't take off the gloves to run my credit card, or when she touched the credit card machine, or when she handed me the receipt and a pen. Then she went back to the kitchen as if to continue cutting onions. I cleaned off my credit card to get rid of the onion smell and tried not to wonder about the restaurant 's sanitary conditions. Great chicken Marsala. Was surprised how good it was I found out that the chef was I believe named Mark he's a long bearded gentleman his food is great. We tried this place another night and found he wasn't cooking the reason we knew he wasn't cooking was the food was horrible. We al so experience bad service from a gentleman we found out was usually the bartender and we were able to discover from other customers he's a teacher or works in the education field really not a nice person very unfriendly. The Tuesday night we went was very busy seems like a lot of regulars and the blonde waitress was really great we also discovered through customers she works in the accounting field. Oh, by the way we are in a few weeks ago and I think her hair is darker now You learn a lot from talking to the people around you many of them seem to enjoy the pizza. They used to have a great salad now it's a mixed greens that's not good at all and sometimes wilted and better. I guess you can tell we've been here many times and the owner a really tall gentleman who from the pictures was a basket Player back in his day is also not a very friendly person unless it seems you were one of his high school or college buddies the frequency's restaurant. Lots of regulars and staff takes time to recognize its patrons. This place is a very charming little hidden in Arvada. The decor is dated and old but still inviting. Upon reviewing the menu I noticed it was a bit pricey, but I thought hey it must be pretty good. I went with spaghetti, because there was only two sauce options with all the menu items, red or butter sauce. Loved the comfortable atmosphere and very friendly wait staff. Baked rigatoni was great. House made blue cheese dressing, to live for! When I couldn't decide between the homemade meatballs or sausage our waitperson brought one of each, and extra sauce, with no up-charge. This restaurant is almost like a place out of time - a time when people knew what customer service was about, and how to take care of customers. It's no surprise that this is Arvada's oldest, continually run restaurant, and, even with plenty of new competition, they still pack the house. Almost everything is made fresh daily on site by the owner who comes in at 5:00 a.m., six days a week. The restaurant is closed on Mondays. We are vegetarian, so we can only eat the pizza since, even though the marinara is vegetarian, they soak their meatballs and sausage in it to warm them up - the way restaurants used to do. The pizza sauce, however, is kept separate and vegetarian. When you eat an Arvada Villa pie, you'll find it's different, too. It's not quite like any other you've had. The crust is made fresh daily, giving it the proper flavor and texture. The marinara is made fresh, too, and it is seasoned just right. And, at $16 for a decent sized pizza, it's a decent value even in today's market. What really makes this place special is the service. The owner talks to every customer. He even goes around and tops of wine glasses, and it's all sincere. He really is that way, and not just putting on a show because corporate told him he has to. If you look around the walls, you'll see plaques that the owner had made with the names of many, many loyal customers - customers who have been dining there for years - and attached to the walls. It's his way of honoring them. I love this place for all of the homemade goodness, the different pizza, and, most of all, the hospitality that leaves me feeling like a kind every time I go. If you are sick of being treated like a sack of potatoes by some high school kid at a run-of-the-mill restaurant, go here, and rediscover what hospitality and customer service mean. (I have read the negative reviews, and I sincerely feel those people either missed the boat, or were paid to post negative reviews. I know of no place in the Denver area that honors its valued customers with plaques on the wall, tops of wine glasses free, and has the same good, consistent, fresh food every time. I am saddened by some of the negative reviews on here for Arvada Villa, I am guessing these are the type of people that complain at every restaurant and find something wrong just to get a free meal. I can 100% say that this is one of my favorite places to eat! My family and I always feel welcome when we walk in, the staff is always friendly, great atmosphere and homemade food that has been around since 1960. The old owner was ready to retire, it was easy to tell that he was done and tired but the food was still our go to. One of the waitress that has been there for years has bought the place and made some décor upgrades, she has kept the recipes the same but with more consistence then the old owner, the food is better then ever, and this has a lot to do with the manager Mark who is an amazing chef! Dated. A little dark. But yummy food, a GREAT wine pour and really friendly service. Met the family there before candle light Good Friday service and it worked out really nicely. I wasn't starving, so I just went with two apps (Caesar salad and the meatballs). My cousin did the same thing but with a different salad and the spicy sausage. We had pizza here a while back. it was take out and needless to say we were not impressed. To be fair and give this place a fair shot, we went back to try it again. The food is expensive and for what you pay for it is average AT BEST. My ravioli was basically the ravioli with tomato sauce from a can dumped on it. Needless to say, I wasn't happy with the place. The service was decent enough, so no complaints there. The place was a bit dim as well. That's fine I suppose if you are looking for a romantic setting. But I think this was more to hide the food so you couldn't see what you were eating. The place looked like it had a thin veil of grease across everything. It really wasn't appealing at all. In the end, I don't think I shall ever return. We gave this place two shots and neither time was impressive whatsoever. There are much better places within ten minutes of here. Returned after doing a number of business luncheons here many years ago.... Our first impression started with a plate of butter & dry packaged bread sticks the hostess presented us with upon being seated... What? (First impression with ice waters & a menu would have been more appropriate?). We then waited & waited.... It took 15 min to be acknowledged. We then waited another 10 minutes for ice waters & menu's (with a response that our water order was given to the bartender & she would check). Our order was taken & in that time period 3 other couples were seated along the wall & served beverages, bread (which we had to ask for) & their full meals by the time our meal arrived. The food was excellent!! The other server did know what she was doing (owner?)! Worth the wait & another visit? Very disappointed. We have been here numerous times, the food was decent not outstanding but nice atmosphere and the wait staff were wonderful. Tonight the NFL playoffs were on with three guys at the bar and the owner. Every time some thing happened the owner didn't like he would blurt out another "bull shit". It is his restaurant so he can do what ever he wants, I also have a choice, not while I am trying to eat dinner that I am paying for. I wasn't offended by the language, I didn't expect to be eating dinner in a sports bar. My wife had manicotti, the filling was runny, the sauce was also runny and tasteless. I had the sausage cannoli with one piece of sausage inside. With no drinks a $36.00 bill not worth it, we won't be back read more
