I've been going here for years. I believe the place is under new ownership. I picked up my clothes yesterday and every piece smelled musty and rotten. It was horrible. I spent $107 dollars and I had to throw out one sweater which appeared to be the source of the Oder and deep wash/santize 10 other pieces of clothing that smelled bad because they were all wrapped in the plastic together. I don't know what happened in their factory but I know I'm not the only customer with rotten smelling clothes. Wow, never ever going back!!!!! read more

I had $200 dollars worth of clothes here with the old owners and the new owners got rid of my clothes they are thief's just like these other bad reviews say.they never even tried to call me to let me know they where cleaning there store out Is what they told me is why they threw my clothes away I been a regular customer here for over 5 years and the new owners always kept my clothes as I live in San Diego but with up here in Gardena. The old owner would call me if there was any issue. I had a coat that had a sentimental value. They do decent work on the clothes but their customer service is well below satisfaction. Been here 3 times or so and each time I feel like I'm being met with adversity whether than common courtesy. It's really never that serious and Rocket Cleaners is directly around the corner adjacent from the Vons gas station and they seem to do just as fine, plus a lot more courteous and respectful. read more

Thieves!!!! I wish I could give them zero stars. My family had used this cleaners for years with no issues. We've had clothing altered as well as drapes. Recently my mother took 8 panels of drapes to be altered. She stated they were 95' and she needed them cut to 93'. She was quoted a price that my mother found acceptable for the work and left. My mother is later contacted by the cleaners stating it will be more work and an additional $20 per panel. Not happy and expressing her disdain at their lack of professionalism, but needing her drapes she reluctantly agreed. She picks up the drapes and hangs them, they are the same length they were when she dropped them off...95'. My mom took them down and measured them and took them back. They lied and said they did what she asked, and brought her scraps of fabric and refused to correct it. The curtains were supposed to barely touch the floor if done correctly, but these puddle. The parking is a bit tight and it's hard to figure out if it's your first time here. Go to the back and park. Don't park at the bank during the weekday or the security guard will have you towed. Great mom and pop operations and they do all the laundry and dry cleaning on premises. Service is fast and well done. I been coming here for years and they offer great work, service and prices. This place is okay for cleaning. They do a good job I could say, But unfortunately for myself and my experience here it was not so good. The costumer service is dry and I feel like they just want you to give them your money and leave. I asked how much it would be to make a simple cut and sew on my pants and they were charging me $15 when I could have done it anywhere else for like $4-$7. Although I don't live near this cleaners...I usually ask my sweetie to drop off my suits, as they do a great job, and the prices are much better than other places. Because 95% of my work clothes have to be dry cleaned, as you may imagine, a good job at a good price is a priority for me. Besides the price, perhaps one of my other favorite things about Art's Cleaners is the fact that the clothes don't come back with that horrible chemical smell that makes your closet reek. Before my sweetie turned me on to Art's I would have to air my clothes outside for a couple of days before hanging them in my closet. Don't go there ever! I drop 3 shirts and a pair of pants Wednesday noon I want to pick up on Friday but told them Monday would be fine sounds like they need more time to finish. I came back on Monday around noon. It's not ready yet! a lady, Korean woman, says in broken English WE ARE BUSY! pointed out the receipt Due MON 5PM. That's a due date and time She didn't even check if it's ready or not. I've gotta come back after 5PM again. She is so rude. WE ARE BUSY is not a prompt word to given customers. She can say Well we are little bit behind the schedule sorry about that. and 49% discount is BS too. Their regular prices are way over charged. I went in to have my uniform pressed for work and I was hassled about a permanent spot on my shirt. The lady in the front wanted me to have it cleaned and I expressed to her that it was clean (they cleaned it) and I just needed to have it pressed. She wouldn't take my shirt because of a spot that is clearly permanent. I pre-paid for 2 suits to be cleaned (one expensive, one off the rack). The expensive suit was fine, but the rack-suit came back just as I gave it to them (wrinkled & dusty with lint). Instead of an apology & offering to clean it, this guy (middle-aged Asian Chap) attempts to justify the wrinkles and dirt !! (The situation was so incredulous, it was funny). The absolute worst place to get your clothes dry-cleaned. I took a dress shirt there for dry cleaning and all they did was press it and give it back to me. The shirt didn't smell clean and still had stains. They also cracked all my buttons with there heat press. Relative to other cleaners in the area they are over-priced. They do a wonderful job, great work, super polite and if you go on certain days, they give you hefty discounts.
