Toy bro's was one of the recommendations from Avanti Mansion. We had them for our ceremony, reception, and also booked their Photo Booth. They made sure the processional music went smoothly, and started playing the songs at the exact time I asked them to. During the reception, they played songs our guests didn't really know - but that's more my fault of not being more specific of the crowd/demographic's taste in music during the week before consultation. Tip for those still planning your weddings: give genres and SPECIFIC artists you want the DJ to play throughout the night! The absolute highlight of everyone's night was the Photo Booth, which was manned by Jeff's dad, Chris (?? It was loud and hard to hear - sorry if I got his name wrong!). He was so sweet giving us ideas on how to pose for the different shots, made sure everyone got a copy of photos, put together the ENTIRE scrapbook for us, AND made sure everyone signed/write a message for us. The scrapbook was we filled from front to back with messages and photos, and it's something we will cherish and look back on for the rest of our lives. As a couple not from Buffalo, Toy Bros were super easy to work and communicate with even without being in person.

He was very professional and gave great recommendations. For our wedding reception he played great music that got everyone dancing. We also selected the Photo Booth which our guests loved and now we have access to all of their photos. I can't recommend Gregg enough!

The DJ was asked twice to lower the music, but did not. He seamed to be lost as to what to do next and multiple times had to double check with the couple. The bride and groom didn't want the garter ceremony and he asked them to come to the floor and then asked for a chair and played the music, nothing there but embarrassment for the bride and groom. So if you do go with this company be sure that you do not have BATMAN as your DJ. Big company they hopfully can.t all be that bad.

He had amazing ideas to enhance the vibe of the party. He knew our venue and had specific ideas how to transform the room into a magical party room. Dennis' creativity is unparalleled. The attention to all details was so very needed and much appreciated. A friend specifically recommended that we hire Dennis and his team, and this choice was the best decision we made and their coordination of all of our elements was perfect. The entire team at CJ was amazing. Brianna was lead on the photo booth was terrific to work with in designing our photo strips to making a scrapbook for us at the end. The DJ handling our music, Tom, was spot on with our music selections and picking the right music for our event. What we planned was a once in a lifetime meaningful family event, and CJ enhanced it to perfection. Many people write reviews for poor service and do not review for excellence as well. I could more passionately recommend this team. If you can request Dennis, do so. He's energized and passionate. He accommodated our specific requests both in and out of theme. He gently guided me away from some early music thoughts I had which were really simply not good choices for the event. He guided us wisely and was patient with all of our needs. If we had the occasion to work with them again, we absolutely would do so. Just terrific.

I've worked alongside Paul at many events, and I honestly cannot say enough good things about him,…read moreand what he brings to the table via his business, Elmwood Village Entertainment. First off, he's a true renaissance man; an individual of many talents, creative abilities, and a genuine humility that makes you think it's all just second nature to him. Second, his level of professionalism is unequaled. Always punctual, always prepared, always ready to provide the highest levels of service. Third - just have a conversation with him. Again, he exudes confidence, energy, and humility. A genuinely good guy! When he's spinning tracks, the entertainment doesn't break. Dance floors are filled, and the event is bumpin'! His musical selections are almost instinctive for the gathering, and the songs flow from one, to the next. Yeah, he's that good. I know a lot of good DJ's. I know a few great ones. Elmwood Village Entertainment doesn't have to be your first call, but do not hire a DJ in Buffalo without talking to Paul first!

Paul was incredibly professional and accommodating and a true professional at his job. I would not hesitate to have Paul (DJ Rock) / Elmwood Village Entertainment to host your wedding, event, etc. Where to start? 1) He arrived incredibly early to setup, loaded a lot of equipment and tested the sound. 2) He ran with the script we gave him and acted as a great MC throughout the night. 3) He was kind, professional and on top of it all. I wouldn't hesitate to have Paul host any future events and I'm glad I found him! Highly recommended if you're looking for a DJ or MC!

Leading up to the event, we had conference calls, as well as using his client portal, to update details (names, dances, song requests, etc.), which made it super easy for Mike to lay out how the evening would go. He really directed the whole night and everything was on time and went super smooth. Music choices were OUTSTANDING, he played a great mix of the styles we'd discussed, our dance floor was going strong the entire time. He played some hits, some deep cuts, we couldn't have asked for anything better. All of our guests and us really enjoyed him, his energy, his presence on the mic, his control of the room, his ability to read our crowd. His up-lighting made the entire space look great. I would highly recommend him. The cost was very affordable as well, we would have easily paid 2-3x more for the experience that we got. Thank you Mike for make our night awesome!

He was amazing to work with; our meetings with him were fun and put us at ease while also being incredibly informative. Even though we were planning our wedding from out of town, we never had a difficult time getting in touch. He made sure we had everything planned and running smoothly. He also understood exactly what kind of music we wanted and everything he played was spot on. Everyone had an amazing time and friends/family are still raving that ours was the most fun wedding they've ever been to. We largely have Mike to thank for that.

We attended a charity function with hundreds of guests last night where Biggs Sound & Entertainment…read moreprovided the music for the evening, although it was not a dance event. There was a buffet dinner, open bar, prize baskets, an online silent auction and more - all going on throughout the longer than three hour event. The music was perfect, well chosen and not too loud, but just right. And Biggs' sound system and his hosting and calling of the winning ticket numbers was handled very well. As someone who used to do a bit of this work years ago, I was impressed. This guy and his company impressed me as being thoroughly professional! Larry W.

Searching for a DJ for my wedding was surprisingly difficult. Of course I pinned ideas for dresses,…read moreflowers, decorations, found my perfect guy... but the DJ was a hard choice. Most of my experience interacting with DJs at bridal shows were negative. They were pushy, all about the "flashiness" and expensive. They just wanted to sell sell sell you a bigger package, extra stuff, this and that. It made me so worried to find someone I felt comfortable "creating the party" at my wedding! I found the complete opposite with Biggs. My event coordinator at my reception site recommended him as our DJ, but I hadn't heard of him before. So glad I managed to meet him at a bridal show at Pearl Street. Biggs and his assistant were so professional! Both wearing suits, waiting for a person to clearly be interested before they approached them with a flyer. They were also playing some pretty fun music while we were perusing other tables, which is also pretty important for a DJ! Biggs continued his professionalism throughout my wedding. I was pretty last minute getting some details to him but he did great handling my last minute requests. Also his music choices were killer. I told him the bands/genres that I'd love to hear during dinner, I didn't mention any specific songs. My guests who have similar taste in music asked me if I put the playlist together because it was so perfect! I think just about everyone had a really fantastic time at my wedding dancing. Our epic last song (which wasn't planned til that night!) was a raucous sing along to Bohemian Rhapsody. So much fun. I'd recommend Biggs to anyone in need of a DJ for any event!

As an event planner, I understand the importance of honest reviews. Here's our experience with…read moreCarla for my September 2024 wedding. We initially met Carla at Château du Feÿ, where she was employed. After a disappointing experience with another planner, we hired Carla 5 months before our wedding, hoping her 3+ years of specialized venue expertise would be invaluable. To our surprise, Carla had not worked with half of our vendors before - even though they were part of the short list of recommended vendors provided by the venue. Despite her website's claims, Carla's design suggestions felt generic and lacked the personalized touch we were looking for. Carla's lack of attention to detail became increasingly apparent as we worked with her. Our wedding had many unique and custom details. Lots of information that a seasoned wedding planner would be able to keep an attentive handle on. The mounting oversights caused significant stress in the final weeks leading up to the wedding. We were genuinely anxious that our vision wouldn't be realized. Luckily, we had multiple vendors and family friends that helped Carla execute the event. As the bride, I distanced myself as much as possible from Carla to allow myself to enjoy the day without frustration. This is not the typical experience. While we appreciate Carla's willingness to take us on with short notice, and she did have some helpful insights regarding sourcing a local florist and unique videographers, her lack of attention to detail ultimately overshadowed those positives. Feel free to message me if you have questions about our experience.

This venue is so much more than just the gorgeous room and building. Every step of the process had a very personal touch. The Admiral Room staff were accommodating beyond what would be expected of a venue. If we needed or thought of anything at all, they were only a phone call away. Our favorite part of the planning stage was our 100-day meeting/food tasting. That's when we met Josh- who would ensure everything ran perfectly smooth, and Chris- the head chef. They were both the type of people who can meet you, and it just feels like you've known each other for a while already. We went over the menu and schedule of events in detail, but at the same time it felt like we were just hanging out. They were extremely willing to tailor every aspect of the event to exactly what we wanted. It was a welcome change from the normal stress of wedding planning. Thanks to this amazing team, our big day went even better than we could have imagined. We had guests coming up to us and complimenting every little thing, from the outstanding food, to the bar staff, and wait staff. Because of the built-in sound system, everyone could hear all of the ceremony. We had both a band & DJ for the reception, which both sounded great as well. The Admiral Room will always hold a special place in our hearts, and if we could do it all over again, we'd absolutely do it the same way. Thank you Cyndi, Josh, Chris, & the Admiral Room staff for providing us with the wedding of our dreams. All photos by Jessy Herman Photo.
