As an event planner, I understand the importance of honest reviews. Here's our experience with Carla for my September 2024 wedding. We initially met Carla at Château du Feÿ, where she was employed. After a disappointing experience with another planner, we hired Carla 5 months before our wedding, hoping her 3+ years of specialized venue expertise would be invaluable. To our surprise, Carla had not worked with half of our vendors before - even though they were part of the short list of recommended vendors provided by the venue. Despite her website's claims, Carla's design suggestions felt generic and lacked the personalized touch we were looking for. Carla's lack of attention to detail became increasingly apparent as we worked with her. Our wedding had many unique and custom details. Lots of information that a seasoned wedding planner would be able to keep an attentive handle on. The mounting oversights caused significant stress in the final weeks leading up to the wedding. We were genuinely anxious that our vision wouldn't be realized. Luckily, we had multiple vendors and family friends that helped Carla execute the event. As the bride, I distanced myself as much as possible from Carla to allow myself to enjoy the day without frustration. This is not the typical experience. While we appreciate Carla's willingness to take us on with short notice, and she did have some helpful insights regarding sourcing a local florist and unique videographers, her lack of attention to detail ultimately overshadowed those positives. Carla is AMAZING!! She was our Wedding Planner for the whole event. She began helping us plan 6 months in advance and was the very last person out the door after the reception. A few things to note: 1. Carla coordinated with all of our vendors and our site to design, plan, and coordinate all of decor, flowers, setup, etc. 2. She is a fantastic designer and creative thinker! She made the decor, designed and constructed a faux ceiling, helped select and then prepared and designed ALL of our flower arrangements, corsages, boutonnieres, table centerpieces, ceremony setting, YOU NAME IT, SHE DID IT! This alone saved us TONS of money, but also made SUCH a beautiful venue and experience. 3. The day-of, Carla coordinated EVERYTHING from musicians, to photographer, to DJ, to Catering, to the wedding party! I know I am leaving out several well-deserved accolades, but all I can say is this... My wedding day was the best day of my life and we could never thank Carla enough for making it happen! read more

I used Costamagna Design for our 1920's wedding and could not have been any happier with Carla's outcome. I was originally just going to use Carla for the flowers, but she took our theme and ran with it an I loved everything she suggested. She ended up designing our wedding chuppa from scratch and picking out the table clothes for both the cocktail hour and the reception. The ceremony was absolutely, the chuppa was beautiful with hanging flowers and votive candles. Her cocktail arrangements were beautiful! The reception flowers were stunning. Everyone kept commenting on how beautiful the flowers were. I will attach photos to her yelp because I am probably not doing them justice. I was also sooo happy with my boquet, the brides-maids boquets and all out the boutonierres. I cannot recommend Carla enough!! read more

Carla was our designer, our flower guru, and wedding coordinator; we could not have asked for anything more. Over the months that we worked together, she got to know our style and really incorporated "us" into the look of the design. She worked with our budget to really give us the most most beautiful wedding ever. The day of the wedding, I knew we were in safe hands, I never had to worry about anything because Carla was there to make sure things ran smoothly. I knew exactly what I wanted for my wedding décor and flowers. I hired Carla to take my ideas and turn them into reality. She knew exactly where to go to find my mismatched finds and got my "Vintage" style right away. She took me flower shopping and flea market hunting for the perfect little vases and once I had everything I needed she produced the most beautiful flower arrangements and bouquets ever! I was so happy to see the results. Carla can get in your head and develop your wishes like no other. She didn't waist any flowers, branches or vases, she mismatched my centerpieces with such detail but at the same time so naturally! It was everything I wanted and more. I just let her run with it I couldn't have been happier with the results. She even suggested an idea for a whimsical hanging flag banner, then selected the fabrics for me to choose from and made it for me. It looked amazing hanging over the ceremony. Not impressed with services. Unorganized and unprofessional. Never in office and cancels meeting last mins, definitely on her own personal schedule at all times. doesn't always respond to emails and texts in a timely matter and does not help to find ways to save money at all! If you on a strict budget find a different planner but you'll over spend with this company. Mostly everything is done last mins, two weeks before the wedding be prepared to get overloaded with stuff that should done months prior. Overall a terrible experience. She is great under pressure so it will come together and be beautiful, but if your A-type personally I wouldn't recommend working with this company because you'll go nuts leading up to the actual day. Better for more laid back, artistic couples. Stressful experience. read more

Carla is not only the kind of wedding planner who handles anything and everything like a superwoman, but she is also the kind of wedding planner who has a keen artistic sense.My husband and I are both musicians, so we are very particular about the kind of ambiance/decoration for our wedding. On top of this, we were living in New York while the wedding was to take place in Buffalo, so most of the wedding planning was remotely done via Carla's amazing work. Carla met up with me in New York to talk about the main ideas at the earlier stage of wedding planning. She then made booklets and info sheets and mailed it to us which detailed each category for the wedding. She really took care of my needs when it comes to looking for a vintage wedding dress, hair stylist, makeup artist etc. in Buffalo as she sent me many links to the vendors. She also drove several times to look for the perfect venue for us while we could not make it back to Buffalo. When we arrived a few days before the wedding, there were some stressed out workers from our ceremony venue, flower vendors and reception venue. Carla handled everything calmly and professionally even when some of the workers were not being fair to her. On the day of the wedding, Carla and her wonderful assistant were like invisible superwomen who took care of things from taking care of our reception decoration, bouquets, boutonnieres, to making sure everything at the wedding goes smoothly (which it absolutely did!), to the last-minute details about seating chart etc. that I was just too stressed out to complete. And all of our guests were very impressed with the particular style we wanted our wedding to be (a 1920's Asian/American vintage style). My husband and I feel that we could not have asked for a better wedding planner to make this amazing wedding happen! Truly, truly grateful. And highly recommended! If you're a type A person, Carla may not be the right person for you. Little things were missed, some larger things were missed. Guests pointed things out to me that had misspellings on chalkboards. She also wasn't all that great at getting back to my emails, and kept calling the groom by the wrong name, which became frustrating. As mother-of-the bride, I have been looking forward to writing this review! Carla was our wedding planner and floral designer. My daughter wanted an intimate, family-only church wedding and reception dinner. (30 guests) Carla met with us and listened carefully as my daughter described her vision for her wedding day. Carla understood exactly what she wanted! Our meeting was quickly followed up with an official design proposal; Carla nailed it! She stayed true to my daughter's vision while offering ways to enhance it; while working within a tight budget. Throughout the entire process Carla led us through with such kindness and professionalism. Most communication was done via email and her replies were always prompt and thorough! The meetings we had were efficient, productive and enjoyable. We always walked away with a sense of excitement and peace of mind. Even our vendors commented on how great she is to work with and how good she is at what she does. Unfortunately we had one venue person that Carla had to deal with that had a slightly abrasive personality and Carla responded with such grace. Two days before the wedding an unexpected issue came up with the limo bus we rented. I reached out to Carla and she offered full reassurance she was on it and it would be ok! She had our back at all times! After arriving for our cocktail hour Carla invited me into the reception room for a private sneak peak before the big reveal...I wanted to cry! The room was beyond BEAUTIFUL! The flowers, candles, mantels, table and ceiling decor were absolutely stunning! We received SO many compliments! WNY is very fortunate to have such a talented, experienced, creative planner/designer! We could not have pulled this off without her! We had such confidence in Carla that we were able to be guests at the wedding and more fully enjoy the day. Without hesitation I highly recommend Carla for any special event planning needs! I met Carla from Costamagna Designs a couple of months ago at a site visit for a wedding that we were both going to be working on; being in the hospitality industry myself I can't say enough of Carla's professionalism and attention to detail. She was quick in responding to my emails and or calls regarding changes or additions, usually within minutes. She is truly a great wedding coordinator who oversaw every detail of the entire wedding day. She was the first person to arrive in the early morning and the last one to leave. I hope I have the chance to work with her again in the future because I know our clients will be well taken care of. read more
