Every single time I work with Melissa and her family run business they amaze me more and more with how talented they are. Melissa is such a kind and loving person and that shines through her work. I want to SCREAM from the rooftop about Simple Celebrations. Melissa and her husband Alan are AMAZING at what they do and... even better, they are AMAZING people! I was convinced I was "doing it wrong" when I wasn't stressed about my wedding. I kept thinking "aren't I supposed to be stressed out and not sleeping?" Thanks to these two lovable humans I was able to truly enjoy my wedding, before, during, and after (since I didn't have to set up or tear down anything). Melissa was also our officiant, so that was super convenient : ) Oh, and they are AFFORDABLE! Apparently, wedding planners aren't only for the wealthy. We worked with Melissa and Simple Celebrations for rentals and set up services for our wedding and I am SO glad we did! Melissa was fantastic to work with from beginning to end. I was an extremely indecisive bride, and Melissa was so patient and helpful whenever I changed my mind about something. She was extremely easy to work with through the entire process. Before the wedding, we chatted on the phone to make sure we were on the same page and everything was ready to go - her attention to detail made me feel calm and at ease that we were being completely taken care of. And we were! Her team set everything up perfectly, the rentals were a hit with our guests, and I am so thankful for Melissa for all of her help! If I could give zero stars, I would. This review is a giant DO NOT USE warning sign for any bride or groom considering simple celebrations for their special day. Melissa displayed a shocking lack of professionalism, her emails were consistently rude, and she was dismissive of questions I had asked as if I should already know the answers. This stress only intensified as the wedding approached, so I asked my mother to take over some planning aspects as I was an out of state bride. Her utter disrespect towards my mother was shocking. My mom is an angel and she spoke to her in a way that was downright cruel. It was belittling and frankly shocking behavior from someone entrusted with such a significant event. She also did not perform some of that tasks that she was paid to do on the actual day of the wedding, leaving those tasks for our family members and friends. Don't let her fool you, the $500 discount was a summer deal she had going on that everyone received. Melissa did nothing extra or special for us besides being disrespectful. She does the least amount of work possible. Staff members of other vendors did her work for her. There are incredible wedding planners out there who will treat you with respect and make your day truly special. This is not one of them. read more

We hired Melissa to coordinate our daughter's wedding and were incredibly disappointed with her services. She waited until the last minute to connect with vendors, relied on the venue employees for set up, failed to organize the evening without constant reminders and failed to set up the event as we had discussed. She had offered to bring items to the venue for us and then said she couldn't fit them at the last minute, so we were left scrambling. She was harsh and rude in her communications the week of the event and then failed to do what she was asked to do the day of. The rental items were fine but her set up was underwhelming and not as pictured on her website. The venue owner indicated that her work has steadily gone downhill and they too have concerns about her service. I would not recommend her coordination services if you are looking for someone to step up and take the lead fir your wedding or event. read more

I would give Melissa 6/5 stars! She put on the most incredible event! The decor and vibe were even better than I had dreamed! She coordinated everying so we could just enjoy the event. All my guests were blown away and everyone wanted to know who helped me. She is also just the sweetest person you'll ever meet. Book her immediately. read more
