Great place. The kind of place I visit when I'm in the area. Small but I can find what I need here. What more do you need?

Well, you don't see this every day: An art gallery in a mall…read more The Provo Towne Centre mall generously donated one of their spaces (and quite an ample space) to ARTcetera, a display space showing off art for local students from the Provo City School District. They do a great job of putting in art from different age groups, from elementary schoolers to high school seniors. It's very dynamic and colorful with collages and paintings and I was surprising at the variety of styles ... quite sophisticated for high schoolers! There are also some cool educational displays, from How to Print a Linocut to murals. I was impressed by the mini exhibitions with bios of the artists. Heck, I was impressed by everything. From what I learned (via the director, James Rees), they are open to ideas and artists, so anyone and any group in the community may be showing their work at ARTcetera in the future. They also have art classes (many on Saturday, especially in the summer), so you may want to contact them for more information. When you add this to the Neighborhood Art Center, the mall is quite the place for the young and creative. It's a great addition to the mall. And to the community.

My child is only starting the course so I cannot yet comment about the professor or the course…read morecontent. What I can say thus far is that my spouse and I aren't incredibly impressed at this point in the game. Our child was unable to start their course because the links in her email from the professor weren't working. Our daughter being a typical teenager, we did not find out for over four months that she could not access course material due to technical issues. As parents, we finally intervened since our child's social anxiety prevented her from making the call to get it resolved. We contacted BYU Independent Study to let them know about the issue and were informed that her Conexed account had not connected to her BYU account. It was a quick fix, resolved by the next day, but we then called someone other than tech support to see if there was anything they could do to extend her time since she lost four months due to an error on their part. They stated that the issue with Conexed not connecting to BYU accounts is a common occurrence that is fixed quickly and they could not give her an extension because the courses should only take four months anyway. They indicated that if we wanted a three month extension down the road, we can contact them and pay $20 for an extension. Even if my child wasn't the greatest at picking up the phone to resolve the technical issue, BYU Independent Study should be mindful when they are dealing with high school students. BYU expects high school students--who may be navigating online courses for the first time--to call and resolve a common glitch THAT IS KNOWN TO THEM before they can start a course? The course should work from the get-go. If this was a college class, my review would be a non-issue because college students should definitely know how to problem solve without the help of their parents, but there are high school students in various stages of growth and maturity, some of whom are still learning to communicate, problem solve, and still need parental advocacy and support. BYU Independent Study was recommended to us by a high school counselor and I can't say we're highly impressed at this point in the process. All four experiences we've had with customer support thus far is that they are very matter-of- fact.

All the teachers are so good with the my girls and they love going to school (usually running or skipping into class)! I love that my girls also get to be active during school. With it being a performing arts preschool they get to Sing, Dance and do Karate(4yr old classes) on top of learning everything they need to know to get them ready for kindergarten. The children also go on fun field trips and their preschool programs are the best and usually leave me crying because they are so cute! I highly recommend this preschool to anyone!
