Great place to walk around. Ducks in the pond. Great tree and and flowers. Very clean and friendly people around to take the kids! Trees to hang hammocks and relax.

Despite not being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I knew I had to make a trip to Brigham Young University while in Utah because of my deep, abiding interest in Mormon culture (and profound love of Provo's Most Eligible). Here are my thoughts: - My husband and I scheduled a golf cart tour which we highly recommend, particularly because we were visiting on a 96-degree July day. Our student guide was clearly mystified as to why two Boston-based non-members were touring the campus, but was very gracious and knowledgeable. - If you're visiting BYU primarily as a tourist site, I'd suggest checking out the amazing free art museum, enjoying some delicious ice cream at the Creamery, and going bowling at the student center. I have to say, I also found the BYU Store absolutely mesmerizing. Where else can you find missionary action figures and Brick'Em Young temple building sets? - My advice to any non-member visitors: please be mindful about what you wear while on the campus. Out of consideration to Mormon modesty standards, I made a point of wearing a blouse with capped sleeves and long pants, but if I could go back in time, I would without a doubt wear a dress or skirt. Perhaps this is less true during the academic year when there are more students on campus, but when I visited in the summertime, I didn't observe a single woman in pants the entire day. I definitely stuck out like a sore thumb. A visit to BYU would not be everyone's cup of tea. However, I found this to be one of the most memorable days of my trip to Utah!

Yes Folks had to check out the Famous Mountain view of BYU Football Stadium. Ok the Nice ground crew gave me permission to take a "few" photos but they asked me Not to Go on the Field and I said sounds like a great deal for Me!!!! Beautiful Stadium and that Y on the Mountain side says your in Cougar Territory!!!!!

Campus is beautiful places underneath glorious mountains. Certain departments are definitely stronger than others. I would suggest checking out the Marriott Business School. There are a lot of yummy treats on campus including chocolate milk and cougar tail doughnuts. Check them out!

My life has changed for the better for attending this fine institution. Although it has its faults, like any school, BYU has some of the world's best professors, phenomenal infrastructure, extracurricular activities and I can go on and on. What I enjoyed the most was the spiritual aspect with attending here through the religion courses, weekly devotionals and being surrounded by stalwart members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking to attend a prestigious school with some of the finest individuals you'll ever meet. Thanks BYU!

My review is about the campus, not the quality of education (although I have to say my boyfriend studied there and he is very happy with his experience and academic success). He was actually showing me that campus during Christmas holidays, so I could not see the atmosphere with students and all, but I loved the mixed architecture, the deer freely strolling in campus, the history behind the founder of this university and what degrees you can get there plus the sports life. It was very interesting for me and a way to know better about the past of my loved one.

My son didn't do so hot in World History so I was making him go to summer school which his school charges several hundred dollars for one class so I wasn't too happy. Well I waited too long and the class was full and his counselor sent home booklet from BYU to take the course online. I never knew that this existed but it is really cool. They have tons of courses for high school kids as well as adult education too. They do require that you take the test at a testing center so he can either go to El Camino College Test Center or to a Sylvan Learning Center. Most of the classes will also work toward college credits too. BTW they have some free online courses but most of them are religious classes but not all.

I love BYU. The environment is fantastic and the campus is big but not too big. I feel very comfortable here. It's very peaceful.

I rather enjoy the modest dress and clean-cut appearance of the majority of the students who decide to follow the honor code.

We spent most of the time in the van and when we did stop at the locations, we weren't able to go inside to tour any of them or even use a bathroom at them, we just stood in the driveways to learn about them. I admire her passion for teaching, but we cannot for the life of us figure out how our $3000 was spent. The wine was limited to an ounce every time, and whenever we asked for a second "glass" the lady pouring would say "well we want to make sure everyone gets some!" - the "snacks" were two tiny pieces of cheese inside of a ziplock baggie and there is no place to use any restroom throughout the course of the entire tour... mainly because the tour takes place only in a van and standing in driveways. For $3000, a nice suggestion would've been a charcuterie spread INSIDE of one of the locations with some tastings and every person at that price should at the very least have been able to go home with a bottle of wine from the tour. I give her credit for starting up a creative business in an extremely competitive tourist city, but I can't in good faith allow anyone else to pay so much money to go into this expecting a luxury experience, and end up getting yelled at by a bus driver and having to sneak around an old hospital just to pee. I really liked her as a person and hope she can take this advice and use it to work on creating a better experience for all.

After checking online, I saw a lot of people recommending MEC, so I went with their course. I didn't want to do in-person or live webinar classes, so I chose their on-demand video course instead. You can pick how many days to finish it -- 3, 5, 10, or 14. I went with 14 days to be safe but ended up finishing on day 12. The system controls how many hours you can do each day, and the videos only have a pause button -- no fast-forward or slow mode, and no subtitles. The platform is pretty strict but smart. If you stop paying attention or switch tabs, it restarts that section and resets the timer. Basically, you have to sit through all 20 hours. Each section has a short quiz, a mini assignment (someone actually grades it), and a 25-question final test at the end. Once I finished everything, MEC sent my completion certificate and uploaded my record to NMLS the very next day, which was super fast! These licensing courses are pricey, so definitely look for a promo code online before you buy. Mine was originally $305.37, but I found a 43% off discount and ended up paying $174.05 -- totally worth it. Overall, MEC's course is good for getting your hours done, but it's not enough to pass the actual test by itself. You'll still need to spend extra time reviewing the book and doing practice questions before the exam.

AVOID THE AFTER HOURS PROGRAM AT ALL COSTS!!!…read more Dev Mountain wasn't a horrible experience for me by any means. The instructors were awesome, and certainly did the best they could to teach you to code in a short amount of time. However, the bottom-line is that Dev Mountain is a double-edged sword. Is it a waste of time? Yes and No. If you can afford to pay $10,000 and take the Immersive course - I would recommend that you do so. They will teach you the front and back end side of development, and will provide some type of job placement. However, if you cannot afford the Immersive course, or cannot simply be in class all day - DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THE AFTER HOURS CLASS! It is a complete waste of money and time. Some people may argue otherwise, as people certainly have found jobs from the After Hours class. However, there are a number of things to be aware of when it comes to this course. 1. Dev Mountain will not acknowledge or support their after-hours students. Once you "graduate" from the after-hours program you will not receive ANY support or job placement from Dev Mountain. If someone contacts Dev Mountain to ask about you, they will not say you know what you're doing because you simply haven't had enough hours in development to receive their endorsement. You get as much credit from them as if you never took the course in the first place. 2. You learn nothing about the back-end. All you learn is simple front-end development in HTML, CSS, some jQuery, and AngularJS. With the Immersive you learn both front and back end - an important thing when looking for a developer job. 3. The most important thing that almost all jobs I was looking for to get in as an entry-level developer is a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science. This is almost the main thing all people looking for Junior Developers are looking for. If you truly want to get into coding - go this route and avoid a coding boot camp. Now, DevMountain will tell you that they offer an advanced after-hours course to teach the back end which is true. But ask them how many people actually sign up for it. They've had to cancel it twice as no one has any interest in doing so after they take the regular after-hours course and find out that they've just wasted $5,000. They claim that over 90% of their students find jobs, but these figures are for the people who took the Immersive class. If they kept stats of how many after-hours graduates find jobs (which I'm sure they don't because they simply don't care about these students after they have their money) I would think that the placement figures would be around 1%-5%. Which means almost 95% of after-hours students just wasted $5,000. In the end, I would like to see Dev Mountain just get rid of the after-hours course because it's just a rip off. If you are going to go to Dev Mountain - take the Immersive course, or don't go at all. I can't speak for everyone, but I certainly don't have $5,000 to waste. I could have taken it out and burned it and I would have ended up with the same results. Dev Mountain is supposedly run by ethical LDS people. If this is the case, I would hope that one day they would do the right thing and get rid of the after hours course and just offer the Immersive one. If you can't afford $10,000, then find a better way to spend your money.
