Offerings: greeting cards, artifacts, jewelry, candy, jams, clothing, artisan seasonal decor, face masks, gift boxes, ceramics, glassware, accessories....many pics posted by Owners of goods. Eats: "dark chocolate almond toffee chuck cookies" (2) -shelved with some knit xmas caps. -name attracted me. Curious about taste since toffee usually is a solid bar not a cookie -made in home kitchen. Very sweet. Sugar, butter, palm oil top 3 ingredient. Many others -doubtful repeat. Not healthy. Staying with regular toffe. 4.5 stars. aisles narrow. Items stacked tight. Everything labeled. Didn't touch anything. Lots of items would make great gifts.. *items displayed randomly. Not sure why this place has such polarized reviews. I came in thinking it would be more of a thrift shop but I would classify it as a genuine vintage shop with cool handmade things as well. This small shop is packed full to the brim with amazing vintage knick-knacks, exactly the things I love. The pricing is not of a thrift shop, things are priced as what you may find on eBay. I asked one of the staff if I could take pictures and she seemed wary so I only asked to take one. I took a picture of the cool spice holders they have, I think they were $20 each. They have lots of ceramics and jewelry, but no clothing. They even had a section of uranium glassware under a uv light. I ended up purchasing some hair accessories and earrings they had at the front, which I'm assuming is handmade. It was a bit hot in the store since it was a warm day and I don't know if they have AC. They're having a raffle and my purchase got me two tickets, hope I win! They also have a loyalty card which is nice. $5 after 10 trips. read more

We were delighted to find this little shop in our town. They sell different custom crafty items made by various local crafters. Great place to browse for custom crafty gifts for people. We picked up a jar of local honey sourced by a local bee hive in town and also a couple of cute painted rocks. Prices were very reasonable. Service was great. I've loved this place for a long time and visit maybe once a month or so. Each booth space is fairly unique with some really nice one-of-a-kind items and antique stuff. There are some staple sellers but also new ones that rotate in and out so there's always something new. I know some people get a little irritated with one of the women behind the counter because she is gruff or short with people, but I haven't seen her in some time. Most everyone else is just fine and very friendly. If you're looking for antiques, tea cups, old books, candles, painted rocks, or even baby goods, come check this place out! read more

I am excited that this unique place has just opened in Castro Village Shopping Center. My husband and I went to the grand opening on Friday the 9th and there were so many vintage as well as hand crafted items. The store was opened by the same people that brought us Village Crafters here in Castro Valley. I was quite excited to see many of the same vendors represented here providing the wonderful hand made as well as vintage items. The store is quaint and well decorated. And with so many Holiday as well as Seasonal items for sale it is a winter wonderland in the Castro Village Shopping Center. This little gem of a store will only be opened until the 29th of December so when the Holiday Season is over this little store will close. So I thought that I would pass the word along. My hope is that this store will remain open after the Christmas Season is over. Maybe they can stay in The Village Shopping Center. But you can expect the same friendly as well as cheerful customer service. And many of the same vendors from the Village Crafters are here selling their wares at this cute little store. I urge anyone looking for that special one of a kind handmade or vintage item this Holiday Season I know you will find it here. So if you are in the area check out this store. If I could give this place "zero" stars, I would. I visited the store during the holidays, and I have never receive such horrible customer service in my life. If Yelp review did not require me to give even a SINGLE star, I would not had even put one. The items at Artisan Place is unique and interesting, but the workers that works there is DISRESPECTFUL and RUDE. I walked in today to do some holiday shopping, assuming there is something suitable for the person I plan to give it to, the lady that is working today was talking to another lady so I had waited to ask a question. Finally, when I waited my turn to ask, she responded impatiently and walked back to the counter to continue talking to the other customer. Moments later, I went back to ask a another question, she turns to me after I had so-called "interrupted" her talk and said "again" as though I had interrupted her enjoyable conversation. Later, when I was ready to check out, every customer that came in to buy something has gotten a goodie bag after their purchase, but when I went to check out she "pretends" to forget about giving me a goodie bag and I had awkwardly asked for one. The workers need to reflect on their attitude and respect every customers and not just selective ones. It's called racism. read more

Saw this place when I went to Safeway from the same plaza a few months back. Today I drove out of my way to check it out. The layout of the store seems chic, until I heard the worker (maybe even owner) of the store talk to a customer. The customer was a Chinese woman in her late adulthood who didn't speak English. She was looking at some items behind the glass then the worker approached her with a demeaning tone asking if she wanted to see something else (repeating herself twice as if the customer was deaf). The customer smiled and had a hard time reply back, so the worker walked away and said "that's rough". I was so disappointed and didn't care to look at anything else in the store and left. read more

I really like strolling around this shop, looking at all that they have to offer. Plenty of hand made and other items that are unique. You can easily find gifts for the friends and kids in here for all occasions. I was surprised at the low price points for some of the hand crafted items. I always leave this store with at least one item because of all the cool things they get in. I also walk alway with fun crafting ideas! Anyway, it's a little rough to get here. My sister and I had the best pre-Christmas season visit today at the Artisan Place in Castro Valley. Every inch was bedazzled w/ handmade decorations/jewelry or enticing foods or vintage ware. Treats were available for sampling and wonderful extras were included w/ purchase. Two lovely women behind the counter assisted us, and one of the artisans was extra kind to my sister. It was a delightful visit I haphazardly made one sunny day. If you enjoy vintage and repurposed items, you will have a great time here. Prices are reasonable. I like it more than Village Crafters. This place is cozier and friendlier too. My husband was excited to find a metal bucket that he was searching for a while for our first water fountain. This is it! He kept saying. If no stars was an option that's what this rating would be. The old woman that was working this afternoon has to be one of the rudest people I have ever encountered. I hope whomever you are reads this because you truly are an awful person. When a child is looking at toys and picks them up and you tell him that this isn't a toy store I think you are a little confused. Number one you have toys, so you are a toy store. Number two, how are you supposed to sell anything if you cackle about not touching the merchandise. Number three, you should look at your website; it clearly says you are a store that sells toys. You really shouldn't be working with the public because you can really harm the development of a child when you don't know the circumstances. Think twice about visiting this place, there are many other places you can find much better merchandise and get better service from people that aren't awful, rude, closed-minded and non-tolerate people like they are here. read more

Store isn't as big as when it was around the corner as the Village Crafters, but is still a cute shop with many crafts from local artists. I enjoyed looking at the handmade cards, soaps, and treats.
