I sent Victor details for a quote on Yelp last Saturday morning and he got back to me in what seemed like just a few minutes. He was happy to take my knives on short notice and gave me a two-day turnaround window, which he met. The knives looked incredible and are unbelievably sharp - which Victor demonstrated by sending me videos before my pickup of him using the knives to slice through water bottles. I trusted his work, but I still appreciated the additional service of showing me his handiwork before I picked up. He was flexible with dropoff and pickup times - I picked up in the evening after dinner, and he was kind enough to give me a lesson in using a honing rod, including recommending a rod to me. I dropped of a half dozen knives and two pairs of scissors, one of which was 40+ years old. The chisels came back razor sharp, polished and clean. The scissors, which I use for fabric, we're sharp to the tip and had even had the small ding in the center of one blade fixed. I am very picky about fabric scissors and was very happy. I sent several knives to Victor over a year ago to have them sharpened and the handles redone. I still have not gotten them back. Victor sent me a different knife for use until he finished my Wusthof's, but he never sent them and will not return my messages. If Victor would respond to my messages that would be better than nothing. I would like to at least know where my knives went but Victor offers nothing. read more

Victor is an amazing craftsman and all-around great guy. I came to get a custom Japanese chefs knife repaired after I had dropped it and the blade chipped in a couple places. Not only did Vitor do a great job repairing it (without taking off too much of the blade or losing the hammered aesthetic), he also gave me some great tips on maintaining the knife, AND I even ended up buying 2 knives he had imported from Tokyo and restored -- one as a gift, and one for myself... 5 star service from Victor. He was quick to respond to my questions and i was able to set up an appointment to drop off my EDC knife (a spyderco). I had used the knife incorrectly and used it to cut metal, this had made the blade dull and there were several chips on the blade. I was very upset given that i spent $50 on the knife. I'm an avid user of EDC's - Every Day Carry pocket knives. I use them for everything, including for things I shouldn't - pry bars, screw drivers, wedges, etc. I had been sending the knives back to the manufacturer for sharpening - a process that could take as long as 3 months (round trip). I ran across Victor's web site and reached out to him - outstanding. I did not appreciate how sharp a knife could be until he returned the first set of 5 knives sharpened. It didn't take long - I asked him to sharpen another set of knives - equally outstanding service. I'll be reaching out to him shortly for my next set of knives - including one that he already sharpened. The one he already sharpened is still very sharp, but not as sharp as it was when he initially sharpened it - I've been using it a lot - and I got accustomed to how sharp it was. BTW - the knife that I'll ask him to sharpen again - still sharper than when the manufacturer would send it back.
