This my go to place for a pedicure. I've tried other places in between, but they always do a great job here and can usually get me in within 1-2 hours of me calling. The employees all seem to converse well with their clients, so if you don't like places where the employees only talk among themselves, give this place a try. read more

New to Edmonton wife tried 4 salons out until she found this one . Unlike some salons where the atmosphere is not friendly and nobody speaks English not this place. Everyone is friendly / happy and polite . She is so happy with her nails and will always keep coming back . She got me a pedicure the other day by lady named Quinn and the pedicure was amazing ! Rude staff. Cheap gel. Super hot wax and unfriendly staff. I moved to the neighbourhood a few months ago and thought I'd treat myself to a set of nails, pedicure, and much needed eyebrow wax. Sounds exciting, right? Wrong! Not much to say about the pedicure other than basic and quick. The water was luke warm at best and I was in and done within 25-30 minutes, which, seems pretty quick for a $60 pedicure. The eyebrow wax was SO hot and I don't think I'm very sensitive since I go almost every month. I was red for days and the oil she put on me to take off the remaining wax made me break out. Finally, my nails. While I liked the nail colour selection (which isn't too unheard of these days), the girl didn't even say hi, she was a bit rough with my hands, and my gel nails chipped within 2 weeks. I had asked her to do them a bit thicker since I work with my hands a lot and she basically just ignored me and went on with her business. Needless to say, I found a better place to go to. read more

I had a broken nail and seeing the good review of the gel manicure I thought I would try this place out. It was busy but I got in right away. It was mostly busy with Seniors. They must cater to them. I asked the girl to use some polish remover instead of grinding all my polish off as I am growing my real nails out for the first time and want to keep them as natural as possible. She said yes but continued doing what she wanted. I asked her why she said she would do what I asked but continued to do what she wanted. Well they did not like this. They told me this is how they do it blah blah blah. Gave me a lecture and she carried on. The manicure water was freezing cold. She put a clear coat of gel before the polish. I told her before she did it that I didn't want that but once again that was what they do there. They really just do what they want. The polish job was is not that great. It is not put on evenly and is all over the sides. No lotion or hand massage. A shit whole like this is a dime a dozen on the south side of Edmonton, this one is just another one. Quick and don't care. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. read more

I went somewhere else ONCE out of convenience and they did a terrible job. They have a great selection of colours, he has never accidentally filed by skin, and is a pleasure to visit with! Decided to charge extra for something we have gotten 3-4 times with no notice and then claimed it was always policy. We have always gotten 2-3 colours on our nails, at the same charge as posted on their pricing list for a basic nail colour. This time we picked out our regular 3 colours and they walked over and said "yeah more colours are 5$, always." We said we've never paid that and they laughed, got other customers involved in the conversation, and sat there after talking to the staff and customers about how cheap and awful we were. My friend got upset and was explaining this was unfair when they said they would call their manager, which they never did. We already had our nails half off/on so we couldn't just leave, and were made to sit while the whole salon made cheap jokes about us even after my friend tried to apologize for getting heated. They have no price breakdown listed anywhere and when we suggested that, they just rolled their eyes and kept talking to their other clients about us. As someone with social anxiety, this experience has ruined the salon for me. I will not be going back after a year of loyal attendance. read more

I felt compelled to do a review of this place after witnessing an extremely unprofessional experience there last Sunday. Their main guy, Tom, was walking around telling other clients about 2 girls that were still there getting their nails done. He was saying how rude they were and how they made a big deal about an extra charge. After hearing Tom's version of the story about 5 times to 5 different people, I decided I was actually on the girls side, and not Toms. Apparently the staff just decided to add on extra charges for a 3rd nail polish color, without any signs being posted for extra charges, and a 3rd color is not a design, decal, pattern, or anything extra. The girls said they had this done more than once and were never charged and would like to know when the charges can into effect. After all, it does seem a bit unfair for an extra charge for one nail being painted a different color. Is there a corkage fee on nail polish? All they would tell them is, "managers new rule." This seems a little outrageous, and too convenient to just say "the manager made the rule" without a sign, notice, or anything to let customers know. I thought I'd probably make a big deal about it too if I had gotten my nails done there the same way with no charge and then out of nowhere there is. Too often have I seen small nail businesses coming up with their own charges just to make a few extra dollars, and Art Nails seems to have figured that out. Tom was extremely unprofessional for not only speaking to other clients about these 2 girls, but doing it right in front of them. He was laughing at them and getting other people to do it as well. It was like he was rallying other people in the salon to gang up on them. He should be ashamed of his actions and if he thinks that professional, then good luck to him and his "business". After what I saw and heard, I won't be going back. read more
