In the morning, a wonderful continental breakfast consisting of hard boiled eggs, fresh strawberries and the best ham and cheese stuffed croissants! After staying at the church des artistes, I know where to refer people to stay. The building is beautiful and filled with character and charm. Make sure to reserve a room on the first floor if it's important to you that you have easy access to the bathroom. We stayed in the Library Room, which has its own en suite bathroom and a canopy bed with a beautiful lace curtain. The room was spotlessly clean. Right next door there is the "great hall" with a huge dinner table which would be great if you're looking to host a group - a fireplace, comfortable armchairs, and a chess set. The hosts were immediately available when we needed them but were not intrusive into our stay at all; it felt private, which is just what we were looking for. I didn't have a chance to try their breakfast but it sounded amazing. Another benefit of the library room is that the breakfast tea & coffee are placed right across the hall from your door in the morning! perfect for putting on one of the fluffy robes and grabbing a cup of coffee to bring back to the room. I accidentally left some personal items in the room. The hosts contacted ME to let me know they had found them and agreed to mail them to me!

To begin with it mentions 5…read morebedrooms and 5 bathrooms...what isn't mentioned is that all of the bathrooms are on the 1st floor and for the 3 bedrooms upstairs, it's a long way to the bathroom. If you are lucky enough to get one of the 2 bedrooms downstairs, no problem. My other complaint was the breakfast part of the B & B, there is none. Each room has a nice card stating coffee and tea served in the morning but on 2 of the 3 mornings nothing was available. During our 3 day stay, there was someone on the premises for about 30 minutes. Absolutely, NO STAFF. You could order a breakfast for a $15. charge but no one was there to order from...very disappointing.

It's a peaceful spot and a nice place to relax, especially if you enjoy outdoor seating. The food was okay overall--some items were enjoyable, while others felt fairly basic and could use more flavor. Service was friendly, though a bit slow at times, especially when the place got busy. Overall, Riverside Cafe & Lodge is a decent stop if you're nearby and want to enjoy the scenery. With more consistency in food quality and faster service, it could be much better.

My wife had the NY strip steak which was cooked perfectly (medium) and delicious. I had the fresh trout which fell off of the bones and was served over rice. We finished with Bread Pudding (cognac sauce) and Pecan/Turtle pie. Took leftovers from both home to enjoy again later. A must stop!

The apartment is gorgeous and spacious. It has the artistic, curated, luxurious touches of a hotel while still providing all the comforts of home. Uptown Kingston is beautiful and vibrant, with lots of bars, restaurants, banks, galleries, shops, farmers markets and coffee places all within a 5 minute walk. We had cars with us, and street parking (while tricky to find sometimes) is free at night and on weekends, plus there's a free municipal lot right down the street. Kerry and his wife are absolutely phenomenal hosts. They are endlessly helpful and friendly. An amazing place to stay, can't recommend it enough!

About 15 minutes drive to Kingston. We weren't able to enjoy breakfast as we had meals pre-planned, but Rob was nice enough to pack us a to-go breakfast our final morning to eat on the road, complete with a cut-up orange in a Ziplock baggie. I'm a coffee lover and the coffee was plentiful, strong, but not burned. We'll stay here again and again!
