I was looking for an unfussy but charming bnb and this certainly more than delivered. This is the type of place where you are encouraged to have a conversation with people at a communal breakfast, so if that isn't your jam then maybe take some toast for the road! The hosts are very caring, friendly, and informative and would love to talk with you - as mentioned in other reviews they immediately make you feel like you are part of the family. Easy drive to Mohonk and New Paltz downtown. PS For those that care about this kind of thing, I even remember some years on that the hot water came out instantly in the shower! No waiting for a warm up!

We arranged to arrive late that same day and after lots of questions from us, we had plans for spa treatments for the next morning. Our room was beautiful. We sat on the screened in back porch chatting with our host until late in the night. We woke up to a stunning sunrise and a delightful breakfast. We found ourselves relaxing and sharing conversation with Christina and Dan throughout our stay. We got a tour of the Spa. I had my first ever mud wrap, reflexology, and massage. The massage therapist was soft spoken, professional, and fabulous. It's 36 hours later and I'm still feeling the calm vibe. While I was doing that my friend was shown where to get a close up view of the horses at the farm "next door." It's beautiful, relaxing, refreshing and delightful. I would stay there every time I'm in New Paltz. I am so grateful to have found this couple and their Spa B & B.

HSH response was we should have told them beforehand that we wanted to use the hot tub. When we booked, they should have asked. 24 hours later they finally got it up to the proper temperature. Too late for us to use. Store brought wood bundle that lasted ten minutes. Had to get my own wood. Having been a host in the Catskills for 5 years I would stay away from HSH. I feel bad for the owner of the property as they most likely have no idea what's going on. The last thing I want to do is spend time on the phone with these people who have no clue what's going on. From the very…read morebeginning, Rick (the owner) was so helpful and always available whenever we had questions or needed guidance. He truly cares about the couples who get married on his property, and it shows. Amber was also incredible--she knew every detail of the venue inside and out and became our day-of coordinator. Thanks to her, the day flowed seamlessly, and we never had to worry about a thing. Her organization and calm presence allowed us to just enjoy every moment. The property itself is absolutely stunning. Our first look photos by the waterfall were breathtaking, and everywhere you turn feels like a perfect backdrop for photos. Guests couldn't stop talking about the cows, which ended up being such a unique and fun highlight for everyone. The Barn at Indian Ridge offers the perfect mix of rustic charm, natural beauty, and wonderful people who genuinely want your day to be perfect. Choosing this venue was the best decision we made, and we will forever be grateful for the memories we made here.

He met with the future couple several times, recommended his choices for catering and floral arrangements but also explained she could use anyone she wanted. She went with his suggestions and hired from his short list and all did great, no, fantastic jobs. The grounds themselves are stunning and pristine. This place is on three hundred acres and far enough from the road and neighbors that there is no concern about how loud you might get while celebrating. During the cocktail hour there were two corn hole games set up which a lot of us had fun trying out. The staff was really attentive and friendly. Everything went off without a hitch. I cannot say enough about the owner Ricky and the simple things he did to be one step above the rest. He had them leave one of their trucks there and had the staff pack up all the gifts and belongings of theirs so they could leave and continue the party without needing to worry about it. The next day when my wife and I took out new daughter back to pick up her truck, he showed up and spent time asking her if she was happy with how things went, and was just friendly and engaging with her, who, was ecstatic with the event and venue and just wanted to talk to him. He hung out and help us pack up the last few items too. His staff also climbed up the ladders into the rafters to take down the flower boxes she built so we did not have to go up there ourselves. All in all, our experience here was great. I have seen some of the photos that were taken and this location as the background was perfect. If you are looking for a venue you could not do any better. There are plenty of hotels withing a short driving distance and he mentioned to us he is planning to put in Glam camping tents as well as buying trailer homes so people could rent and stay right on the grounds. Definitely worth a look!

The Gables of Rhinebeck wasn't hospitable during our stay…read more And it kills me to give them two stars but when you make Mrs. S mad? She's always happy! The entire purpose for staying at a Bed & Breakfast is the experience. Any Inn or B&B, the owners open their establishment, makes you feel at home with a warm cup of coffee along with something freshly baked from their oven. When I checked in, I was told via text there is none of that because of the pandemic. We find that to be an excuse because we just left a B&B in Cold Spring that had everything! It's a bunch of nonsense, the owners could have baked and individually wrapped things. Just like the B&B in Cold Spring.... Oh wait, we were served a sit down breakfast. And coffee! What a concept. Check-in is at 3pm. I arrived at 1pm thinking I can get a few tips about the area. The door was locked so I rang the bell. I'm assuming its the owner who answered the door. I tell him I know I'm early, I'm looking for a few things to do locally. He said there is nothing here to show but I can send you a text? Ok.. The town of Rhinebeck is very cute, there are shops that are open while walking around. We had a glass of wine and some charcuterie while passing the time. Once it's 3pm, we were sent a text for the door code. Walking inside, The Gables Of Rhinebeck is a beautiful Bed & Breakfast. It also seems we are the only guests based on the parking lot out back. And the parking lot only has room for 3 cars? Our room is drop dead gorgeous. The bedding is adorned with a beautiful quilt. It's a suite so there is a nice sitting area. I walked downstairs to the empty parlor, grabbed two wine glasses and opened a bottle of wine that I brought from home. The bathroom, there was a lack of shelf space for our toiletries. Its a large space with a claw foot cast iron tub, very pretty. I had plans to sit outside after dinner and smoke a cigar. The lights weren't on, there is no one to ask and at that point, I really didn't care. I'm ready to leave and that is just a shame. It's not the feeling you want your guests to have when they leave. Do you agree? I asked about breakfast the next day in a text. Coffee? Oatmeal? Anything? Nothing I'm told in a text. The restaurant next door opens at 8am. Mention we're guests at The Gables Of Rhinebeck and well receive 20% off our bill. The restaurant at 8:50am was closed. At this point we jump in the car and leave. While I'm sitting down in another town, I text them saying the restaurant wasn't open at 8 or 8:30. They text back: OMG there is Bread Alone and so many other restaurants in the area that we could have chose. Overall, this was a sucky stay and I'm glad it was just for one night. They charged a premium price for the Bed but not the Breakfast?! And they weren't hospitable! Yeah OMG.
