My boyfriend and I wanted to try something different, and decided that instead of booking a…read moretraditional hotel room we rent a cabin for the weekend. I booked our cabin stay through hotels.com. The following day I received a phone call from the resort asking me for the credit card information as hotels.com did not charge us directly. No big deal. When I initially booked the cabin I didn't do my research as I usually do and was freaked out when I read that a guest had bed bugs in their room. So naturally when I received the phone call from the resort it was the perfect time to ask if they have had or were recently experiencing any issues with bed bugs. The lady (I forgot her name) told me that they did have an issue but that they only had an issue because the guest that wrote the review about the room having bugs were the ones who had brought them. I wasn't sure how I felt about that, but I had planned an entire weekend, a holiday weekend at that so I decided to give it a go. Besides the lady was nice and kinda put my worries at ease. We arrived on a Friday evening. Maria checked us in and she was just as nice. Upon getting to our room "9A" we noticed there was no place to park. I called Maria to ask her where we could park and she said she would send someone to clear out our parking spot. It had snowed a few days before so there was a bit of snow still on the grounds. Within a few minutes someone was there clearing out our parking spot. The room itself was small but cozy. It seemed like nobody had been there in some time. The bathroom was a nice size and pretty clean. I immediately started looking for bed bugs but luckily didn't find any. Thank you Jesus! LOL My only complaints are these. One of the locks on the door was broken. There weren't any toiletries, not even a small bar of soap to bathe with. And lastly, although there were no bed bugs (thank you again Jesus) I found what looked like dead bug stains on the comforter. I would have liked to give them a three and a half rating but it wasn't possible so I gotta give them a three. All in all, we were happy with our stay. Employees were nice, room was decent, and the view was fascinating. We would definitely return, and we would definitely recommend.

MaMere s utterly proud of you, for seeing in heart to bless mommy with this incredible birthday gift. THANK YOU‍ From the time I arrived (3:20 pm), I was greeted by the beautiful & radiant spirit Ms. Vanessa, the Inn hospitality Manager. Her heartfelt words wrapped around my core; saying WELCOME HOME. Oh, and it was home at its finest. From the 4pm welcome social, that included delicious White & Red wines that danced graciously on your palate. Various delectable cheeses, crackers, olives & thinly sliced turkey meats. YUMMY, they were! Movie nights, s'more's & more libation at your choice. The next morning, a scrupulously delicious breakfast was served; with a fresh brewed coffee from Ethiopia & a freshly squeezed grapefruit hearty drink. Yoga awaits me at 11am. I'm now chilling at the warm pool ‍ until my 2:30 Swedish massage ‍. Tonight (11/8), Saturday with my incredible cousins and their lovely friends who joined us on a "Cousin's Girl Weekend", will be celebrating me & my birthday . I'm definitely going to post the pictures later on tonight. The Bed and Breakfast is only 2 hours from NYC (UWS) Manhattan, NY. You will not regret this treat to SELF or a love one.

We felt like we were walking through a fairytale-like winter wonderland in Idaho or Jackson Hole. It had just snowed and truly looked magical. Perfect landscape design and and lighting. The dining room itself is equally elegant, decor is on point, upscale and super-tasteful, and atmosphere is fantastic. We were SO excited about the drinks, wine and food menus. Ordered liberally to try a lot of different things, and... womp womp. While the plating and presentation of all we ordered was perfect, the taste did not rise to the level of the presentation. The martini had a strange undertone, The Pinot was thin and underwhelming. The oysters all had pieces of shell in them from how they were shucked that then had to be fished out from one's palate (and there's no way to do that that's not awkward at a full table). The octopus was overcooked. They serve garlic biscuits, which were tasty but we didn't finish them bc no one was blown away. The duck - skin was scored properly but not given enough time time crisp or pan not hot enough, so served soggy, tho the meat was done correctly. All dishes sat upon a turnip puree, with the duck having additional (also soggy veggies), and the steak having additional shredded cabbage. French fries came out nearly cold but in a nice metal basket lined with parchment. They looked perfect and then the bite was, well, not hot. Mashed potatoes were good. Presented well. Perhaps the highlight of the evening? The service was very good, by the way. Staff was fantastic. It's just that something was a near miss on the food... very heavy handed, the unique tastes and freshness of the ingredients cooked out of many... a very different experience than had in the cantina, where the food has been perfect each time. 2 Coffees, 2 sodas, 1 martini and one glass of wine, 2 apps, 3 entrees, and one dessert with standard tip came out to just under $500. It's a lot for an underwhelming meal. Food wise, if I were to recommend a fine dining establishment where the food is superlative for the same price, I'd say Hudson House in Nyack, hands down. While they don't have the same ethereal setting, the culinary aspect cannot be beat. They do have oysters that are shucked correctly and a killer steak au poivre with pomme frites that's incredible. Perhaps we'll try this place again in the future. Not sure if it's new? Only just learned about the Lodge Steakhouse part, so who knows. Summary: Overall, gorgeous setting, food presentation. Staff service: lovely, actual taste of each dish: meh.
