MaMere s utterly proud of you, for seeing in heart to bless mommy with this incredible birthday gift. THANK YOU‍ From the time I arrived (3:20 pm), I was greeted by the beautiful & radiant spirit Ms. Vanessa, the Inn hospitality Manager. Her heartfelt words wrapped around my core; saying WELCOME HOME. Oh, and it was home at its finest. From the 4pm welcome social, that included delicious White & Red wines that danced graciously on your palate. Various delectable cheeses, crackers, olives & thinly sliced turkey meats. YUMMY, they were! Movie nights, s'more's & more libation at your choice. The next morning, a scrupulously delicious breakfast was served; with a fresh brewed coffee from Ethiopia & a freshly squeezed grapefruit hearty drink. Yoga awaits me at 11am. I'm now chilling at the warm pool ‍ until my 2:30 Swedish massage ‍. Tonight (11/8), Saturday with my incredible cousins and their lovely friends who joined us on a "Cousin's Girl Weekend", will be celebrating me & my birthday . I'm definitely going to post the pictures later on tonight. The Bed and Breakfast is only 2 hours from NYC (UWS) Manhattan, NY. You will not regret this treat to SELF or a love one.

The wait staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and welcoming. While the brunch menu left a bit to be desired, I kept it simple with two eggs and toast. The food itself wasn't the highlight of the experience--instead, it's the setting and ambiance that truly make the Stegmaier special. Every detail has been thoughtfully curated, from the vintage salt holders and silverware to the historic décor. One of the standout touches was the tableside Bloody Mary service, presented on a tray with droppers of truffle oil and hot sauce so you could customize it to your liking. The staff also encouraged us to explore the upper floors, which added to the experience. The grand piano in the entrance, the stunning chandelier lining the staircase, and the beautiful stained-glass windows made the building feel both elegant and full of history. I think dinner is probably where the Stegmaier truly shines. Because of the timing of our visit and the holiday weekend, brunch was our only option, but I imagine the evening atmosphere offers an entirely different experience. I'd definitely return to give dinner a try.

Innkeepers Ste and Nicole are a young dynamic couple who are as welcoming as they are fascinating to chat with. The setting is absolutely lovely, with a view of rolling green hills and a pond. They found the perfect mix of "comfy and deluxe", with luxurious robes, a shower with SIX water sources, a basket of goodies and high end toiletries. The bed was ridiculously comfortable and made with high end bedding. Breakfast, not surprisingly was absolutely delightful--they served a frittata (and had checked in advance to know we had both vegetarians and meat eaters in our party). In addition they offered a self-serve counter of fruit, granola, yogurt, bread and muffins with excellent coffee. Everything was locally sourced and handmade. Such a shame that we didn't have more time-we'll have to plan a longer visit next time to allow for checking out some of the neighboring towns and taking a hike.

We checked in midday so we had the benefit of having daylight- making first impressions less creepy. We were the only ones in the bed-and-breakfast, as far as we could tell . Not a sole insight. There was no degree of security. No codes to enter, etc., after reading a taped message on the front door, we entered and eventually found our room. I truly love old / historic homes and Inns. I usually offer them quite a bit of Grace..... Despite outdated furnishings, our room appeared clean and the bed was comfortable. The air-conditioning worked well and there was a small room refrigerator. Surprisingly, no musty smells. The bathroom is in need of some serious repair. The sink is chipped and rusty and the shower tub- well, it's is far from a shower. We showered late that night and despite the timing, there was little water flow -more like a trickle by the time my husband showered. We had no idea when breakfast would be served - since we never saw anyone. We just wandered down the next morning. The breakfast dining room, where we were to eat, had a trashy movie playing on the TV. I got up and changed it . The breakfast was subpar with low level of supplies - tea, etc. We are willing to pay more for a room knowing breakfast is included. We should've dined out instead. I have one more true life commentary - there was a table in the hallway upstairs that appeared to be an amenity table - boxed hairdryer and box of Trojans. I thought it was a prank for someone staying at the Inn at first, however, later realized - don't think so. Time to Class it up several notches, Wayne on Main!!! Honesdale is a fabulous historic town. The Inn has tremendous potential - if only some sweat equity and thoughtfulness was put into it. Our overall experience was similar to that of the Twilight Zone. Perhaps you should look elsewhere.

Reviews of super honesty, from a guest for a day…read more Not good: Trying to get there. As soon as you get to the edge of the property, you are navigating a maze of tiny signs in Woodloch handwriting, trying to figure out where to turn to sign in. I made a couple of wrong turns. Once I got there, I had to figure out where the door was. Signing in was actually quite painless, mainly because other family members had signed in moments before, but I didn't get a map so I was lost the rest of the time, depending on others to navigate around (and we definitely had questions). Event timing. I missed out on a couple of events because things we wanted to do were double-booked. Then we had off time when nothing was booked. Why not spread things out throughout the day? Events themselves. We thought bowling would be fun. It was a hollow ball so that anyone any age could roll it. The bad bowlers did better than the good ones. That's what made me miss trivia, though perhaps that would have also been no fun. Okay: A nice house we got, though the living room had a bunch of wasps outside the window so I was definitely not happy there. Clear your nests. Also at least one of our cards went bad, but I wasn't staying more than a day so I didn't have to worry about that. Beers. A couple of locals, just poor selection overall. Good: Pools. Multiple. All ages, all temperatures. Too crowded outslde? Go inside. Three different hot tubs. Kiddie splash area inside, which added to my family's enjoyment when I accidentally discovered it while wandering inside to use the restroom. (Part of that being lost problem. Lack of signs for anything.) Food. Though it went on my family's tab, they will feed you whatever you want for whichever meals you sign up for. My family will enjoy breakfasts and dinners to their hearts' content. Very high quality meals. You are assigned a table and a server, for whatever that's worth to you - definitely one less way to get lost! But if you don't like your server... I'm willing to bet they would work something out. Guest service was not a problem. Overall: I am being a little generous in stars because resorts are not my thing. But this place is in desperate need of an upgrade in signing everything. Post maps in more places. Upgrade your experiences and spread them over the course of the day. For now: You have been warned. Good luck.

We unexpectedly had to travel to the Scranton area 2 get married under some difficult family circumstances with my father-in-law ill at the time. I wanted to make our wedding night something special despite the fact that it was not as planned. The owner was able, on short notice, to make arrangements to have a small wedding cake in our room, and had sparkling cider ready for us when we returned from exchanging our vows. The Silo room is the honeymoon suite of this location. A multi floor Suite with Gorgeous views, the Silo Room has a separate area with couch and television, as well as a oversized bathroom with whirlpool tub. A small kitchenette with coffee or tea making supplies, a small fridge and microwave made this a mini home away from home. One of the minor but strange things about this location is the door between the bathroom and the bedroom in The Silo room only has lace. You can look directly from the toilet to the bedroom, so if you are sharing that room with someone make sure there aren't any secrets between you! Breakfast was simple fare, but fresh and plentiful. Our order was taken the night before and everything was ready when we came downstairs. We had an omelet with ham and cheese, plenty of toast and muffins, and hot tea . If you like train memorabilia, this place is the spot for you. The owner has a mind-boggling assortment of miniature trains, antiques, signs and collectibles. There are other buildings in the Red Barn Village complex, including a retro store, a market, and mini golf. We did not get a chance to experience those, and we may need to do so next time. There will definitely be a next time, the owner here cares about his customers and it shows.
