The amenities are incredible - dishwasher, washer and drier, a/c and a wonderfully complete kitchen (even had a juicer). Everyone had their own bed. It was super clean and we all loved the outdoor shower and baths. Sean and helpers were incredibly accomodating, and were available for help whenever we needed them. But at the same time, we never really knew they were around which allowed us to thoroughly enjoy some incredible solitude. The grounds are beautiful and wonderfully maintained without interfering with the natural surroundings. This place is perfect for those who enjoy being surrounded by nature's beauty without paying an arm and a leg. I looked a long time before I found this incredible space for a fantastic price. Thanks so much Artfarm. We'll be back!

The land is beautiful and backs up to some serious woods that were packed with newts and salamanders (very healthy ecosystem). We made use of the two four foot smokers, the large outdoor grills, and the kitchen. I looked extensively before booking and this was by far the best value in Hudson valley region. This would work equally well for a family as for large groups (like us). Beautiful scenery, great people to give business to, great amenities! Enjoy!

It seems like poor grandma may have passed away and they decided to cram her stuff into this already full house. There is furniture everywhere! Correction: there is DUSTY furniture everywhere! The house is also filled with books - DUSTY, DINGY books everywhere! We could hardly sit in the family/TV room because the smell of dust and mold was so overwhelming. There is a locked room on the second floor with a door that is covered in ugly juvenile expression (stickers, pictures, etc) - the most notable: "Beware of the Devil" Really? Not only do you have to be frightened of asthma attacks due to the mold and dust in this house, you also have to be worried about evil spirits lurking in the house - or maybe behind that locked door! The bathrooms are disgusting. They are outdated and just dirty. Bring your rubber boots because the drains are all clogged and you end up taking a shower in ankle high water. Then, when you are done, and the tub finally drains (or attempts to drain), you get repellent hair balls spit back up into the bathtub. It is truly nauseating. The sheets and towels are threadbare and, like everything else, very old. The kitchen is just filthy and outdated; you will not want to eat here. We even had to supply our own drinking water because the well water was so smelly and tasted horrible. I have no idea how this house could be rented to anyone in this condition. I would have preferred sleeping outside in a tent. BTW, even the tree house was dirty and crammed with furniture!

The apartment is gorgeous and spacious. It has the artistic, curated, luxurious touches of a hotel while still providing all the comforts of home. Uptown Kingston is beautiful and vibrant, with lots of bars, restaurants, banks, galleries, shops, farmers markets and coffee places all within a 5 minute walk. We had cars with us, and street parking (while tricky to find sometimes) is free at night and on weekends, plus there's a free municipal lot right down the street. Kerry and his wife are absolutely phenomenal hosts. They are endlessly helpful and friendly. An amazing place to stay, can't recommend it enough!

It retains the charm of an older estate but with modern amenities. For example, during our wedding weekend, it was extremely hot outside, so we were somewhat limited in doing outdoor activities during the day. Regardless, we were able to enjoy ourselves inside, with the spacious rooms, ample seating and indoor activities, and music throughout the space. We also had a great time doing karaoke! We loved that guests who wanted to go to sleep early could. The upstairs rooms are private, quiet and well-air-conditioned. And we loved that they each had their own bathroom! We also appreciated Henrietta, Matt and their team's efforts to make sure the catered dinner was a success. The food was incredible. We loved having the option to pick from so many dishes, and all of them were fantastic. Having them handle everything allowed us to just focus on the wedding and enjoy spending time together. Maybe the thing we appreciated most of all was how quickly they dealt with any requests or (minor) issues that came up. They felt like our partners throughout the weekend, responding quickly to questions and never making us feel like we were burdening them. At the end of the weekend, a few attendees remarked that they were thinking about doing a future event at Vanderbilt, because they loved it so much. We recommend Vanderbilt Lakeside without reservation!

We felt like we were walking through a fairytale-like winter wonderland in Idaho or Jackson Hole. It had just snowed and truly looked magical. Perfect landscape design and and lighting. The dining room itself is equally elegant, decor is on point, upscale and super-tasteful, and atmosphere is fantastic. We were SO excited about the drinks, wine and food menus. Ordered liberally to try a lot of different things, and... womp womp. While the plating and presentation of all we ordered was perfect, the taste did not rise to the level of the presentation. The martini had a strange undertone, The Pinot was thin and underwhelming. The oysters all had pieces of shell in them from how they were shucked that then had to be fished out from one's palate (and there's no way to do that that's not awkward at a full table). The octopus was overcooked. They serve garlic biscuits, which were tasty but we didn't finish them bc no one was blown away. The duck - skin was scored properly but not given enough time time crisp or pan not hot enough, so served soggy, tho the meat was done correctly. All dishes sat upon a turnip puree, with the duck having additional (also soggy veggies), and the steak having additional shredded cabbage. French fries came out nearly cold but in a nice metal basket lined with parchment. They looked perfect and then the bite was, well, not hot. Mashed potatoes were good. Presented well. Perhaps the highlight of the evening? The service was very good, by the way. Staff was fantastic. It's just that something was a near miss on the food... very heavy handed, the unique tastes and freshness of the ingredients cooked out of many... a very different experience than had in the cantina, where the food has been perfect each time. 2 Coffees, 2 sodas, 1 martini and one glass of wine, 2 apps, 3 entrees, and one dessert with standard tip came out to just under $500. It's a lot for an underwhelming meal. Food wise, if I were to recommend a fine dining establishment where the food is superlative for the same price, I'd say Hudson House in Nyack, hands down. While they don't have the same ethereal setting, the culinary aspect cannot be beat. They do have oysters that are shucked correctly and a killer steak au poivre with pomme frites that's incredible. Perhaps we'll try this place again in the future. Not sure if it's new? Only just learned about the Lodge Steakhouse part, so who knows. Summary: Overall, gorgeous setting, food presentation. Staff service: lovely, actual taste of each dish: meh.
