The Kingston Bed and Breakfast greatly exceeded our expectations: centrally located, charming, well appointed, comfortable, gourmet breakfasts, convivial, and completely clean. Perfect: I cannot imagine a better experience. Our lively and informative hostess, Elizia, made sure that all was well. Her bundle of skills provided an essential resource for us and our travel companions. A+. Kingston, also known now as the Upper Upper West Side, did the rest to take good care of us: fine dining, marvelous walking tour, street festival, historic districts to admire, and a good base to explore the Mid-Hudson Valley. The hot breakfast was also very good. My issue this time, was the Wi-Fi. It was horrible! I was lucky if I would get between five and 10 MBPS, and a lot of times, it was lower than five. The Wi-Fi would also periodically just cut out. I talked to the front desk about it, and they referred me to tech-support. When I talked to tech-support, they told me that the bandwidth . For the Whole hotel, was capped at 30 MBPS. There were so many people in the hotel sharing the bandwidth, naturally my Wi-Fi was horrible. Fortunately, I had plenty of data, and I was able to use my phone as a hotspot. I went next-door to the super 8, for a couple of nights and I continuously had Wi-Fi in excess of 60MBPS. It's a sad thing, when a super. 8, has better Wi-Fi, than the best Western plus hotel and conference center.

The walls were dirty, dingy with holes and cracks. The toilet was clogged and I had to retrieve a plunger from the snarky desk clerk. The wi-fi didn't work, and the tv was almost unwatchable. The bathroom door didn't close. No pool, no breakfast. Broken door locks. Half of the motel was occupied by low-income housing folks. This place is disgusting. So much is wrong with this place that a thorough cleaning, a couple of hundred bucks worth of furniture and paint and a little TLC would make it a 1-star stay.
