He's a perfectionist and makes very sure everything is just right. We loved the beveled edges he put on it, and appreciated how he used archival quality tape to adhere it. I worked with Larry on a clients piece of art work. He was able to destretch & frame a 3'x4' painting and ship it at a relatively low cost. He was quick and very friendly to work with. He has two reserved parking stalls off the road between his shop and the apartments next door (there is a sign and a cone between the two stalls). Talk about under promise and over deliver! I remembered this business from a decade ago when they did a fantastic job on one of my favorite art pieces still hung at my residence. I went back to them recently to have them frame a picture with a thick inner boarder to have all of my coworkers sign and to have it framed up as a keepsake going away gift. Corrupt business. I bought an overpriced peice of acrylic. . It was damaged, so they concealed the damage covering with wrapping paper. I discovered the damage upon unwrapping. I returned it to Art attacks. They accused, "accused " me of causing the damage. They then offered to sell me another peice for what they, (almost undoubtedly falsely claimed) "Wholesale cost". I am eternally grateful that I never had to do business this way. I have begun a case with my credit card company to recover Art Attacks "theft" of my $285.00. Should the investigation not yield a positive out come for me, I will immediately serve the owner with a civil law suite. I intend to use each and every legal means to obtain a fair outcome. read more

We had the most fabulous service and assistance from Art Attacks. My husband wanted to reframe a painting of his parents. I had ideas that encompassed lots of matting and an overly ornate frame. Larry is a nice guy who generally does very good work. However I gave him a piece of art to frame recently and he evidently did not instruct his assistant on how I wanted it done. I asked that he keep the entire piece intact but the "helper" trimmed the bottom which is exactly what I told him not to do. I love the amazing work and excellent service I received from Art Attacks, here on Campbell Avenue in Kapahulu. I had a poster framed and they did an unbelievable feat: They got all the wrinkles and creases out of it when they mounted and framed it! This poster was folded flat when I received it in the mail, which was very disheartening. After several monthis, I finally took it to Art Attacks for framing, asking them to "do your best." A few days later when I went to pick it up, I was amazed to see my poster beautifully framed -- and not a crease or fold to be seen! It looked perfect and completely awesome! What Art Attacks did was amazing! So, I took another folded poster to them and they did the same thing: It is beautifully mounted, not a crease or fold to be seen! Larry is a friendly guy with knowledge of all kind of framing and color coordination in particular. He helped me pick a custom frame for my daughter's original painting and it came out gorgeous. The color he picked helped bring out the subtle color tone of the painting. I was so happy I went back after one week to take more of my daughter's paintings to be framed. He and his assistant came through again. This time they helped me put 3 of my daughter's work in one frame in a collage and the effect is stunning. This is my first negative review. The older gentleman who works here is unprofessional, rude, and incompetent. I was not greeted when I arrived despite introducing myself. He continued to fiddle with his computer. He spoke down to me when I checked in with him and proceeded to help someone else without so much as letting me know if I should wait or drop off my art work...Felt like I was begging him to do me a favor or something by framing my art. My girlfriend went here to have a personally meaningful piece of artwork framed and matted. Being new to the process of custom framing etc. neither of us were quite sure how to go about it. While getting started the man asked her "so how much do you think this is going to cost?" She said "to be honest I'm really not sure." to which he replied, "well you're probably just a school girl and you just don't understand how things like this work." I found this to be very rude, presumptive, and downright disrespectful. If you like good customer service, get your frames elsewhere. read more

Took two things in to be framed. One of them was a T-shirt signed by a surfer that had passed away. He told us that he could fold the T-shirt (because the frame was deep enough) after suggesting he cut it to fit in a smaller frame. We were adamant about him not cutting the shirt. Under no circumstances was he to cut the T-shirt. Went to pick it up and he had cut the T-shirt. He was irate and argued with us and then proceeded to yell at me in front of my children. I had a great experience at this shop. I needed some repair work on a photo that was a family heirloom. Larry was fantastic in figuring out how to get it fixed up quickly and inexpensively. His shop is a quintessential neighborhood affair. Small, informal and has a "lived in" look of a working office. You may walk in and he'll be next door at his home momentarily. Had a awesome experience. I have a large, original painting that needed to be reframed, about 40" x 40". After checking, other places that wanted over $600, I found Larry at Art Attacks. Don't be worried about parking, he has that covered. I took it in and he did the job for under $400. Said it would take about three weeks and it was finished in two. It was a bit windy when I picked it up and he put the painting in his van and drove it my place. (I have a convertible and live about 1/2 mile away.) My mom wanted to get custom frames for 2 of my grandpa's paintings. They were similar paintings of the same flower so she wanted to make them the same size and hang them side-by-side. Unfortunately, my grandpa hadn't painted them on the same size canvas so we spent over an hour with Larry because he had to figure out the exact measurements since they had to be cut differently to fit in the same size frames with mats. They were ready sooner than the estimated time we had been told, which was great, but when my mom went to pick them up they were different sizes! Larry argued with my mom and would not admit that he made a mistake. He did offer to re-do the job, although we don't know if he was offering to do it free-of-charge because it wasn't mentioned, and my mom declined because she didn't want him touching them again. When she got home and we took a closer look, we also realized there was still glue on several of the edges/corners of the frames, as if they hadn't been cleaned good after being put together. The frame job wasn't horrible by any means, but the customer service could've been better. Good thing we had Living Social discounts to use and didn't pay full price! read more
