I am reaching out because we are having some issues with our flooring. My contract shows a 3 year warranty on the installation. It seems the guys who laid the floor did not prep the transitions well in my kitchen and in the master bedroom. I had a water supply line burst in the kitchen ceiling causing considerable amount of water damage throughout the apartment including all the flooring.The kitchen was hit the hardest. The insurance company was being very difficult when it came to repairing the kitchen cabinets. They only wanted to replace half of the kitchen cabinetry. Very disappointing I had the owner come out to inspect my repairs so he can provide a quote. He came to my home on November the 14th with a promise for the quote on November the 21st. I have since made several calls to ask about my quote and been told the guy is out sick this was at the end of November I reached out. I am still waiting on a quote that I explained was urgent. So I initially scheduled an estimate with them couple weeks ago and on the day of the appointment they cancelled on me, apologizing the estimator had some kind of emergency. We rescheduled the estimate and again no one showed up so I gave them a call. The manager initially apologized about this miscommunication but then proceeded to say they were doing me a favor by waiving a fee for my estimation since I provided an inspection report beforehand. A fee for estimate was never discussed to begin with, yet alone I've never heard of anyone having to pay $500 to get an estimation of your project. While I can't comment on their work, they are extremely unprofessional and would strongly suggest not even bothering asking them for an estimate as they are unorganized and will likely not show up read more

We used Alex's Construction services for water damage we initially had filed with our house insurance and also to replace our electrical panel. Long story short, our insurance didn't cover the water damage because we didn't have the endorsements for sewerage and drainage. The total to repair out of pocket was quite a burden on our family but we had no choice. Angela was able to bring the cost down a bit and also assist with the asbestos and lead test fee at a discount due to the relationship they have with the company, which was a great relief for us. They were very detailed on the steps along the process and answered my many calls and questions. The water damage lead to our circuit breaker being affected and required some electrical updates as well. I contracted ARS to complete a renovation of my upstairs master bedroom and bathroom. Alex provided a very detailed estimate and took the time to answer my questions about the process. Several other contractors I spoke with wanted me to sign a contract on the spot or used very aggressive sales tactics, calling me day after day after their initial estimates. Given my work schedule, I also needed to plan any time off (to be at the property) very far in advance. Several contractors pressured me to move up my project date to when I would even be out of town, so I would not be able to monitor the quality of their work, which rubbed me the wrong way. Alex was one of the few contractors who was ok with my preferred dates and worked with my schedule despite it being a several months out. When the project started, Angela and Peter (who I worked with for the majority of the project) both were very easy to work with and communicated with me every step of the way. They were quick to respond to any inquiries I had during the process and were professional and courteous. Unfortunately, as the project commenced, several additional repairs were required due to the age and prior work completed on the property. There ended up being significant water damage in 2 of the rooms, which ARS was able to quickly handle. Worried that this would delay the project, they made an earnest effort to finish on time by sending staff to work on a saturday and make up for lost time. Several roadblocks kept occurring in the progress of the renovation (due to the age of the building, leaks in pipes, delays in acquiring materials from the tile supplier, etc.). Throughout this stressful process, Peter made sincere efforts to keep me informed of each situation and provided clear explanations of the damages and possible solutions, along with estimates. They continued to make efforts to catch up on work that needed to be done (being cognizant of my work/travel schedule) by having people come on the weekend or stay late to complete tasks if necessary, which I greatly appreciated. Throughout the process, Peter was very responsive to any concerns I had with work performed, and immediately followed up to have it fixed/redone, no questions asked. He also assisted me with the design of several elements which I was unsure about, and was flexible with my requests for additional work (i.e. adding another recessed light, installing new blinds, etc.).
