Pig
Julie D.

Brazilian restaurant with a nice salad bar with rice and pasta. The nightly special this night was pork - a whole pig. It was so moist, soft and delicious. The steaks were cooked perfectly and we ate to bursting. Always a fun experience.

A Brazilian style steakhouse - A Churascaria, evoked anticipation in all of us. So we rushed to it for dinner. Alas the fare being served was just ok. They were some cuts of beef and pork but we having experienced a dizzying range of meats served on skewers in the Bay Area found the experience slightly underwhelming but whatever they served was quite good. The redeeming feature was their continental breakfast , the next day with the live omelet station which made your omelet exactly as you like it with all fixings that you choose yourself from the various optional ingredients that they on hand. They are good for at least one try for dinner and great for breakfasts!

This Brazilian steakhouse Is located on the Nizuc side of Moon Palace. Reservations weren't required and at the time we arrived for dinner, around 7ish, there wasn't a wait. After we were seated, a basket of cheesy breads were brought as starters. We were then told to start with the self serve food stations, which include salads, cheeses, cold cuts, hot side dishes and even paella. Minutes later, our servers started with the skewers, and it came at such a rapid pace that we didn't even have a chance to slowly enjoy our meats. It started with Canadian bacon. This was probably the best one. Smoky and sweet. Another one for me was the Parmesan chicken. It tasted like a super crunch cheese crusted fried chicken. Crunchy, hot & juicy. All of the other meats: Sirloin, skirt steak, 2 types of Brazilian meats, brisket were either on the dry side or lacked flavor on its own. They did provide a side of chimichurri and a spicy jalapeño dip. Both were necessary to give the meats some flavor. We also ordered a Mayan coffee, which is essentially an alcoholic affogato. But the 'show' behind this is entertaining. It was our server's first time and he did a great job. Our servers were good. They constantly checked up on us to make sure everything was well. The staff were all cordial and friendly. The ambiance is also very nice. I just wish the flavor of the meats equaled the rest of the experience. 3.5

Dry meat

Food was horrible. Instant potatoes, meat was dried out like its been reheated all day. It was not just one cut of meat, it was every single cut. Service was slow even though there was barely anyone there. Waiter kept calling my wife "lady", and was rude when we asked if they had lamb. Do not eat here.

This one at Nizuc does not need reservations. A few tips: 1. Skip the salad and appetizers. You are here for the meat. 2. They have 7 kinds of meat, but even it's the same kind, it could be a different body part. WAIT for the ones that you prefer. They come often. 3. I am not a fan of sausages, but it doesn't hurt to try one or two pieces. 4. Skip the fruit at the end. Save room for the dessert!

The vibe in this place is incredibly exciting. From the hosts, you wait staff, to servers. Wide selection of food, pasta, rice, salads, breads, drinks. The waist staff Gil (Gilberto) and Gildargo (both from Veracruz) were extremely attentive, service was timely, and they provided a wide selection of drinks and meats. Both waiters were extremely personable, and helpful.

LOTS of meat. Lots of desserts. Great salad selection. Very friendly staff. Would come back if I were a big meat lover, but I am not. I highly recommend this place to meat lovers!

Way too much food. I liked only 1 of the meats. I prefer all the salads they offered. Just way way too much food.

Real good Brazilian barbecue. Even the veggies were good. Of these Palace restaurants - all are 'all inclusive" for the moon palace resort.

All the food was delicious (Extensive Salad Bar & "traveling meats"). The buffalo & lamb were my favorites. Couldn't bring myself to try the baby pig that was brought over, head on & all. We also ordered beer & tropical drinks (Paloma & Pina Colada's) which were very good. The restaurant decor & ambiance is what you would expect from a typical Brazilian Churrascaría very tasteful. It wasn't cheap but you definitely get what you pay for. Service was above & beyond from all the staff. Super attentive to your every need! Make sure you ask for the specific type of meat that you like & they will bring it over. Never feel bad passing on meat that doesn't sound good or asking for more servings if you specifically prefer a certain cut. Would highly recommend giving it a try at least once. *They also have Valet parking included if you have a car.

Great, Houston level steakhouse at The Grand Hotel…read more Atmosphere is upscale, elegant even if some patrons arrive under-dressed. Service is prompt, friendly and pleasant. Steaks and sides follow all your expectations. As the resort is all-inclusive, it's already paid for. However, there are options to supplement your meal - at a cost. Think waygu or tomahawk. Sides are good as are appetizers. We usually come here on one of our final nights. It's always good. Try it.

I have been a loyal guest of Moon Palace for approximately 14 years and hold Residence Membership, the highest tier of membership offered. Over the years, my family and I have consistently chosen Moon Palace for our annual vacation, spending $20,000-$50,000 per year for a one-week stay. This loyalty has been based on trust in the quality, professionalism, and integrity that Moon Palace once represented. Unfortunately, the experience this year represents the lowest point I have encountered. On New Year's Eve, I attended the special dinner at JC Steakhouse. During dinner, an individual introduced as a sommelier aggressively attempted to sell a bottle of red wine priced at approximately $250. As someone familiar with wine pricing and quality, it was immediately clear that the value did not justify the cost. When I declined, the sommelier responded in an openly dismissive and insulting manner, stating words to the effect of: "Since you are not interested in anything special, I will have you served by a regular waiter instead of a sommelier." He then walked away. This interaction was humiliating, unprofessional, and entirely inappropriate--especially toward a Residence member attending a New Year's celebration. When I requested that the manager bring the sommelier back to address the situation, he never returned for the remainder of the dinner, nor was any meaningful attempt made to resolve the issue. Regrettably, this incident reflects a broader trend I have observed over recent years: declining food quality, worsening service standards, and an increasing emphasis on pressuring guests to spend additional money rather than providing genuine hospitality. At this point, I can state clearly that I will not spend any additional discretionary money at Moon Palace, and I am seriously reconsidering future stays. Moreover, based on my experience, I cannot in good conscience recommend Moon Palace timeshare ownership to others. This letter is not written lightly. It comes from a long-time, high-tier member who expected--and deserved--better. I request a formal response from executive management addressing: 1. The conduct of the sommelier and lack of managerial follow-up 2. The broader decline in service standards 3. How Moon Palace intends to restore the level of professionalism that originally built its reputation I hope Moon Palace will take this feedback seriously before further damage is done to the trust of its most loyal members.

Left side is for kids with a gated kids' area and they even have baby food. How cool is that? Sure you do have sit down breakfast spots at the resort but I prefer to get whatever when I want instead of waiting to be brought to me. Saves precious time to enjoy the rest of the resort. Lunch was OK. They have a meat grilling and fish grilling station. You can never go wrong with grilled to order steak. They have a small sushi cart but I stayed away from it. It didn't look too appetizing. Sometimes they had a ramen station as well. I preferred to eat lunch by the pool where they grill different things everyday. I had 2 dinners here. Once I came around 8:30pm and another time as soon as it opened. Wasn't too impressed the first night but the 2nd time they had all kinds of seafood. Seafood is my jam and so that was the best dinner during the entire stay. We enjoyed fresh oysters, tuna sashimi, different kinds of ceviche, crab legs...the works. I'm not sure if they rotate items on a daily basis but their seafood night is legit. Other family members loved the steak grilling station and the fish grilling station. Definitely recommend.
