I'm happy to report it is indeed a miraculous oasis!  I'll be bookmarking this one in case I find myself hangry during a food desert crossing again! I'm a lover of good Mexican food and Lupes hit all the marks I was looking for!  Great chips and salsa to start along with smooth creamy dream guacamole!  This is a big determining factor for me.  If you can't get those two things down I doubt you can get the rest right!  But they did it well.  For lunch we had the Tamales De Fiesta, Carne Guisada, and a cheese chile relleno.  While the chile relleno wasn't my favorite of all times, the other two dishes were just as delicious as I had hoped they would be. It made my tastebuds so happy to eat great Mexican food again!! I wouldn't hesitate to stop here again! Service was prompt and friendly and place was clean with ample spacious seating. They even have a drive through if you don't have time for a sit down meal.

Most recently, our server - Maya - did a great job. We used to live in Amarillo and Lubbock and I learned that Lupes II is owned by the same family that has "The Plaza" in both towns. They brought in new staff from who knows where to run the facility and in this time, my coffee order has gone from 3 to 5 minutes to about 17 minutes waiting for my coffee. The other day I pulled up and overheard the new staff telling the delivery guy about why the other employees were fired, which I thought was completely unprofessional. Why does the delivery driver need to know the business? She was well aware that there was people in line with their windows open and could hear very clearly what was being said. I thought this was just completely unprofessional and out of line. As I am sure there's probably something stating they're not supposed to be talking about whatever happened. I used to be a scooters buyer. However, since the new management and wait times, I probably won't be back.
