The unique and delicious seasonal options had my wedding guests raving all weekend. On the day of our wedding our breath was taken away by the performance of the Seedling and Sage team. Our captain, Jamie, made sure the night went off without a hitch. My wedding guests (many of whom work or have worked in hospitality) kept bringing up how spectacular, friendly and efficient the event staff was. The communication was great, and Annette was very responsive and helpful. However, I really cannot recommend this company to anyone after what I experienced during the wedding day. The seedling and sage employees took all our center pieces (except 5), my bouquet, and my mother's bouquet without asking us. The gluten free/ vegan desserts we specially ordered and brought in for our family were thrown out. We were not asked beforehand if this was ok. We spent a good amount of money on the flowers and they were just all gone, it was heartbreaking.

It has that made from scratch with love and care feel. Over the years I have ordered the Nonna's Chicken, the Fajita Bar, Chicken Marsala, the Mediterranean bar, and a bunch of their salads. Our attendees love it. As the event coordinator, the next most important thing aside from taste and quality is meeting dietary needs of our guests. The Tomato Catering team is excellent here. All of their signage is clear and their dressings are vegan and again good. Super helpful. When you speak to their team whether it's Camille at their HQ or Jan at the West Chester location who made the food, they are extremely professional, on it, and and will make sure things are clarified so you never feel worried. We were able to coordinate delivery to each of our locations and their team setup the meals beautifully. I took an Uber from Downtown Philly to Pen Ryn Estate which took about 30 minutes. Somebody is there to direct cars where to go. I specifically heard the lady say "take the first left and keep going straight to River's Edge Garden Pavillion." What my Uber driver did was go all the way to the end and turn left. So, I second-guessed myself. I got dropped off at the wrong venue and I had to walk a loooooong way to the correct venue and I was late for the wedding (I was actually on time but late for my standards). I ran into other wedding guests attending somebody else's wedding trying to find their venue as well. This place is massive! We're talking acres of land. I made it to a shed and I asked somebody if I was at the right place - I had to be because I already passed 2 incorrect venues out of 3. And the gentleman told me to hop on the golf cart that would take me to River's Edge where the wedding is at. The golf cart driver asked if I was taking an Uber after the wedding and he told me what address to put in so I can get picked up directly from the wedding venue - which I found very helpful when I was ready to go back to my hotel late at night! The venue was nice. Since it was outdoors, you had to deal with some elements: strong winds, bugs and it got chilly close to sunset. You get a view of the river. Right behind us is a covered area like a tent where the reception is at. But it looked elegant inside. I'm very impressed by the food. The variety and quality of the food were fantastic. Probably the some of the best food I've had at a wedding. I was getting full during cocktail hour. The couple has Latin and Italian roots and their heritage were celebrated through food and I loved that. When I RSVP'ed for the wedding, I sent in my meal selection and I had forgotten I chose chicken. And I was filled with fear because catered chicken tends to be dry - not the one at this wedding. We celebrated our daughters first year anniversary rather than the traditional reception. Like so many weddings, our celebration was delayed a year. The tasting at Knowlton mansion was a perfect way to get excited about the wedding. I truly enjoyed sampling all the appetizers and entree choices. The cake and fillings were all amazing. My daughter, the bride, was well taken care of by the Bridal assistant, Danny. Danny offered champagne to us upon arrival. She was sweet and kind and helped us bustle my daughters dress which was no easy task! Not only did we enjoy the ballroom, but the bride gets full access to the upstairs rooms for changing, hair, makeup etc. there was an incredible stone wine cellar we took advantage of too. Let's not forget the outside tent and fire pit. The servers and bartenders were very attentive as was Chris, our wedding coordinator for the day. The service was friendly and kind. All the food was such a treat. Artfully prepared and crafted special occasion food! You know you're at a special affair when you are served amazing creations. This is a beautiful venue. I visited for a baby shower but I also had a quick mini tour. Inside most of its historical integrity has been maintained. Outside the grounds are lovely and manicured to perfection with view for a almost spooky glaring lights shining on the house in the evening. This would make a perfect haunted house or a place to take your children for trick-or-treat. But truly the inside is a stunner it's decorated with decor that appears to be between the late 1800 and early 1900s. The attachment or extra space built at the side or back of the home is where you have catered events. This space is very large and can accommodate 200-300 people if not more. On the grounds there's a beautiful Pergola where I'm sure a bride and groom can take the most stunning pictures. The staircase inside can also make for a great photo op! The staff was friendly, the house and grounds are a stunner. I will have to do some research to see if they catered the event because everything I mean everything was delicious.
