I have been there a few times but have not yet tried everything on the menu. The empanadas were my kids favorite. The fried mojarra looked great and was delicious. I ordered huevos fritos con arepa y queso. At the register, the employee who took my order did not know what I was talking about. She asked the owner and she told her to order them separately. When I received them, they were not the right kind of eggs, they were scrambled, thankfully the same employee was able to get me the right ones. I went with two Colombians and they both gave it a thumbs up. I always order Bistec a Caballo at Colombian restaurants, and this was one of my favorite versions. The platanos Maduros were delicious and the Empanadas came out piping hot and very tasty. Patacon needed a bit of salt, but still not bad. Disappointed!! I looked foward to eating here for many months and my experience here was lousy. This place is very disorganized with extremely poor service and horrible food presentation. 1. BANDEJA PAISA: I was disappointed when I received my plate because it was absolutely poor in taste and portion size. They give you more rice than anything, tasteless beans, a tiny piece of meat, HARD pork belly, and the egg is just burnt or I don't know what. The plate is $13 and I don't believe that is worth it's price. I have had Bandeja Paisa many times before and by far this has been the worst. They really need to better. 2. SERVICE: You never know what you will get. The ladies at the register will either be nice or rude. Food is good, it is the closed thing about Colombian food that you can find here in this area, thanks for that. My experience is about customer service, I place an order on the phone to avoid the long lines, they took my order and hang up without telling me when the order will be ready and the total price for it. call again, they give the time and total of the order but still have to wait around 15 minutes because I do not pay by phone when I place the order? the person on the phone never told me to do it. Also, my order was incomplete. If the owner has the time to read this, please fix this inconvenient. read more

The customer service in this restaurant was non- existent. Being Colombian and since this restaurant advertises as a Colombian restaurant, I thought I should be able to order food with ease. Not the case. This restaurant also serves Central American food, which I almost ordered in error. The only reason I didn't was because the lady behind the counter noticed that I'm Colombian and directed me to the correct menu items. The food was not bad. Let me get one thing out of the way. The food here is good. And the bakery items (Buñuelos, pan de bonos, empanadas) are REALLY good. But the customer service totally ruins the experience. Hence, my 1 star review. When I arrived at the place, everything started great. The friendly cashier girls at the register took my order and it seem we were onto a great start. I ordered a ton of food, but what I was most excited to eat was a Colombian burger so I ordered one and asked them to go heavy on the tomatoes (A request that I have made at dozens of restaurants before without an issue). After ordering you're presented with a screen asking you how much you want to tip. The cashier ladies were friendly and even thou tipping beforehand at a restaurant register is not very common, I was in a great mood, so I thought, why not. Tipped 20% ahead of time. Then I proceeded to my table and waited for my food. If you read other low star reviews about this place, you'll notice a common thread. They keep mentioning a lady who is really rude. Well, let me tell you, I had the opportunity of dealing with this character yesterday. (Old lady, long brown hair, she stands behind the girls at the register most of the time). She was the person who brought the food to my table. To my surprise, I was presented with my burger, which contained a beef patty that was probably 4 inches in diameter accompanied with a tiny 2 inch tomato slice that barely covered half of the patty (so basically half of the burger would have no tomato). So I thought: No big deal. Maybe they just forgot. So I approached the old lady who brought my meal to the table and politely asked for an extra slice of tomato. Would you like to know what this bastion of customer service said to me in the most condescending tone she could muster after I just spent a hundred dollars at the register? And I quote: "One slice is all you get. The burger is too cheap already. If you want another slice it will be a dollar". I was like... An $8 burger is so cheap already than putting 2 tomato slices instead of one is going to send you straight to chapter 11? Fine, charge me the dollar. But I have to tell you. I have never seen this nonsense in a restaurant before. Ever. You think after spending a hundred bucks in food and tipping 20% ahead of time I care about a $1 charge? It's not the money. It's the poisonous attitude this person ruined my meal with the thing I have a problem with. Like she was implying I just waltzed in from the street to try to con them out of a tomato slice. Like I was asking for freebies. So yeah. There you have it. Really good food. Atrocious customer service. read more

If you go to Aroma Cafe, don't go to hungry. The place is always full and is not that big to hold many people. The food is ok. Also if you buy food to go, make sure you check your order prior to leaving place. Last Sunday September the 9th, I bought $40.00 dollars worth of food very affordable btw. When I got home, I realized that I only had 2 pan de bonos, when I paid for six. immediately I called to the restaurant, the person who answered said "don't worry just come and we give you the rest ". I went back on Wednesday the 12th and spended $37 dollars in food. I told the lady what happened, she said to my friend "don't worry, I'll give them to you". I recently visited Aroma Cafe and saw that they were new opening a full bakery that included cakes. I thought it would be great to support the business and order a birthday cake. I called on 7/27 and wanted to inquire about how much time was need to order. They didn't understand my English, and called a young man that always is very helpful. He became short, I told him I would come in on today and see what I can order because the cakes were not online. He said he came in at 9am. I arrive at 945am and he was not in. I took my time out of my schedule to go and try to support the business, but he didn't show up. Most of young ladies don't understand English, but are very patient. But others not so much. If someone is attempting to show support to your business show up. Times are tough, that's why I support small businesses. Do better! Black gringos love Colombian and Latino cuisine too. I decided to to try this place because is new and Colombian food is great! Unfortunately customer service sucks my husband ask if they could replace a side of beans for something else even if it cost more, straight forward ...THE MENU IS THE MENU AND WE CAN'T CHANGE OR REPLACE ANY SIDES, that was the answer we received . I have been in so many places where if you don't want fries you can change for onion rings, or maybe if you don't want rice they will give you beans , this is not the case with Aroma Cafe. I'm from South America and I love authentic food but my husband is American and many times we have to meet half way. This place is very appealing and seems legit...but the food was below average. I ordered a Hawaiian burger based on yelp reviews. My food came out 10 minutes after they delivered my wife's food. Buns were cold, burger meat was lukewarm and fries were lukewarm. Overall, my burger was too salty. My wife, as much as she loves fried plantains, just left them on the plate. She ordered churrasco de pollo and that too was lukewarm and salty! What a waste of money and time!! We are never going back. The customers across from us experienced the same.
