This place is a little tucked away Thai spot in Carlsbad. An easy miss if you drive through Carlsbad village area. Just about a mile or two inland from the main village hub. The pros: There is abundant parking as they have their own parking lot next to the business. The inside was nicely decorated with plant decor and small lights for ambiance. We ordered the chicken pad see ew and drunken noodles which had great flavor in every bite. They offer different spice options and we ended up going about medium on the spice scale which is just enough. If you can't handle that much spice or your tolerance is lower, I'd recommend going more mild. We also ordered Thai boba tea which was very tasty and refreshing. They also offer take out here which you can pick up inside at the cash register. The cons: Although abundant, the parking lot seemed a little run down. Went on a Saturday evening and there wasn't a ton of people, maybe like 2 families plus ourselves. We were able to seat ourselves where we wanted so naturally, service should be pretty fast, but was kind of slow. The food portions were a bit smaller compared to the price. Each dish was about $20 and it felt like a little more than an appetizer. Verdict: This is a great Thai spot if you're looking for something different in Carlsbad as this type of food seems slim in this area. I'd recommend coming here if you are a fan of the cuisine but I would probably find another Thai spot to try over coming back here any time soon.

AROI THAI I was heavily craving for Thai food and my boyfriend and i were in the Area of Carlsbad, so we wanted to try this spot! It looks delicious, very homey, and a pretty good area. The parking lot itself was a bit odd, some graffiti, and the place's name was on a banner, the spot itself was above a floor, so it was a bit of a creepy walk inside up the stairs until the restaurant. No one was at the front, so we had to wait for a couple minutes, but a nice lady came to allow us to sit anywhere we wanted. It felt like a family restaurant kind of. It took a while to get our order in and the food, but once it came out, it was delicious and full of flavor! I really enjoyed getting the pad see ew, however, portion wasn't a lot for it being $19, and it was pretty oily. But what I really liked was the ambiance of the place, and how bright it was. We also got a thai tea which was overly sweet, but it was still your average tea. Overall, I'd come back to this place, but for take out rather than dining in as it took a while to get service.

This place is cute and lowkey. Came with the fam at a quiet time and our server was great. She helped give recommendations and explained to us about their generous BOGO 50% promotion. Music was on point too (R&B). Foodwise - the crispy pork was the best thing we had. We finished it so fast I forgot to take a photo. Tom yum broth was more sour than other places we tried which we preferred. Only downside was the seafood in the tom yum didn't seem very fresh

Ordered here through Grubhub because it stated there were some vegan options. We ordered tofu spring rolls, fried tofu appetizer, side of jasmine rice, Thai fried rice, spicy basil, pineapple curry, and phad Thai. I put under every item, "Vegan please" and yet our phad Thai arrived with egg in it. The curry also tasted a bit fishy to me. Sadly, I don't think I'll be ordering from here again. I feel as though people don't understand what vegan is sadly. I received a phone call from the manager who offered to remake my dish next time I am in the area but I just don't think I will return based on this experience. She also informed me that the curries cannot be made vegan because they use a shrimp paste. While I'm glad it confirmed my suspicion, I'm hoping the few bites I took won't make me sick.

We found this place by accident. Originally we were going to check out the Mexican food restaurant located in the same building. When we saw that there was Thai food , we switched and had Thai instead. The place is small , clean , cozy. It wasn't busy at all , one other family was leaving as we came in. We had the place to ourselves. Our server was great! She checked on us often and refilled our waters without having to ask. I ordered the drunken noodles , wife ordered the Tom Yum soup , son ordered their orange chicken, and daughter had shrimp pad Thai. All the dishes were great. ! The portions were huge. We could have eaten family style. They are very well priced. We were very happy an and full at the end.My wife is very picky about her Thai food and she gave Aroi Thai her approval. So looks like we will be coming back whenever we are in the area! I highly recommend checking Aroi Thai out.

    Lemon Decoration. Very comforting.

This is my first time eating here. I am new to the Carlsbad area and have grown up loving Thai food. So I was looking for my new "Thai place" in Carlsbad. The lunch was fantastic. Generous portions. Had a good amount left over. Great flavor, wonderful customer service. And the lemon decorations are very comforting. My uncle is Thai and we grew up with a tree in the backyard, so it was very nostalgic. Will be back again.

First time visiting Aroi Thai...in Carlsbad for a wedding from LA and was craving some papaya salad. This place came up and it's about 10mins from our hotel. Did not disappoint, everything was delicious. The servers were super friendly and polite. They get busy, so just be patience. The Crispy Fish with Larb sauce 20/10, a MUST try.

When I was out in Carlsbad for work, I decided to stop by here with some friends before I headed back home. This location can be easily missed as it shares the location with a Mexican restaurant. You have to walk up a flight of stairs to make it inside. They have a private room for karaoke or for small groups. There's fake floral sunflowers everywhere for decor. Seafood Omelet Hot Pot 10/10 Shrimp Pad Thai 10/10 Duck Noodles 7/10 Pumpkin Curry 9/10 Half Moons 9/10 Curry Puffs 8/10 Crispy Basil Pork 9/10 Everything was delicious. This was the perfect meal before our long drive. Our service was wonderful with Dream. If ever I'm in the area again, would definitely come back!

The foods taste really good.. and the decoration of the restaurant looks nice and fresh. The service is a little slow but I don't blame them because they have only one server. We got very satisfied with our experience overall.

The menu isn't extensive but offers you the typical dishes you would hope to find at a Thai eatery. Here you will find tom yum soup, 3 different kind of stir fry noodle dishes, 3 fried rice options, and curry. I went with the shrimp pad thai, requesting for the peanuts to be placed on the side, followed by a few drinks. Cook time took a while. I did keep in mind that the flow of customers were plentiful and this just meant my food was made fresh. You are provided with a food beeper and are alerted to come up when your order is ready. The food itself looked good although the portion was a little skimpy. Maybe it was the large bowl that it is served in or maybe it was the food rush?? The noodles were coated completely in the tamarind sauce- so much that the dish was quite mushy. The shrimp was cooked well. 3 stars. The food is okay and the customer service is legit. The staff can be a little bit more generous with the napkins though...

Having had authentic Pad Thai in Thailand, I found this version noticeably different, as traditional Pad Thai is typically not that sticky. I was also surprised to see BBQ ribs on the menu at a Thai restaurant. They were decent, though--tender enough to fall off the bone and flavorful enough to enjoy. The highlight of the meal was definitely the stuffed angel wings. They tasted freshly made and were well-seasoned. We also ordered egg rolls, but for $10, I felt the portion size, quantity, and overall quality did not offer great value. Service was good, and our server was attentive throughout the meal. As for the ambiance, I'd suggest avoiding Friday nights if you're looking for a relaxed dining experience. There was a live band playing, and the music was so loud that we could barely hear each other talk. It's probably not the best setting for a date night or a dinner where conversation is part of the experience.
