Pretty descent thai place around town if your craving Taste authentic. Service is good and ambience.

My kryptonite: mango sticky rice
Becki C.

Aroi never misses! After my trip to Thailand, it has been a journey to find a Thai restaurant whose food tastes as authentic as being in the actual country. Here is what I have tried and can 100% recommend... chicken satay, fresh rolls, pad Thai, various curries, basil fried rice, pineapple fried rice, pad gaprow, Tom kha soup, banana spring rolls, mango sticky rice, coconut icecream, yuzo mango boba soda, Thai iced tea. So basically I've had like half of the menu and so it's a really solid guess that everything else is just as amazing. The restaurant is so homey and cute in an old house. The staff is always very helpful with questions and recommendations! If you walk by and they're cooking, you might get carried away by your nose and end up eating here. Not that it would be a bad thing though!

Masaman

Had a lovely dinner here. There is a gentle, warm atmosphere. The waiter was a very kind man, the masaman curry with avocado was delicious, and the outside garden area was pleasant. Not as buzzy as other restaurants in the area so for a more relaxed meal this is a good spot.

Absolutely delicious! Aroi's food preparation and taste are always consistent, and their staff is attentive and helpful. These three dishes are my favorites, too. I highly recommend them! This is the perfect place to go for a quiet lunch alone or with friends.

Top to bottom: Tofu pad Thai, chicken pad Thai, and basil fried rice

The best Thai food I have in the Hudson Valley (which I am really just comparing go restaurants in Poughkeepsie), but prices on a to-go order were a shock. Would especially recommend the Basil fried rice as it was better than the pad Thai.

Lunch special Tom Kha

It is a very cozy space here, felt like eating at home inside here, plus enjoyed the sunshine that was radiating in the dining room. So the service was very attentive for sure, making sure I enjoyed the food, making sure the table was clean and organized before I sat down and overall pretty polite. As for the food, let me say when they lunch special they mean a child size portion, for example my Tom Kha was great flavor wise and honestly delicious but it was barely a cup and would greatly been better with more shrimp which I ordered and a side of rice. Should ordered something else on the lunch menu. But lucky me I had foresight to order the Chicken dumpling soup, which unlike the Tom Kha was filling to a point, I mean the dumplings themselves were overfilled with Chicken since they were not even sealed. The broth was great and on cold day like today, very warming. The butterfly tea lemonade was awesome, refreshingly light and balanced. So two out three makes this a great first visit.

Bao buns with garlic chicken and steamed chicken dumplings

Today was all about a work lunch and Aroi was the perfect spot. There were lots of specials to choose from, the regular menu is extensive and the lunch options are great. Service was also awesome. Food was delicious! We shared a couple of appetizers-bao buns with garlic chicken and steamed chicken dumplings. I could have ordered more of those and engorged myself until I passed out, but I displayed a modicum of couth and had the Pad See Ew veggie lunch portion instead of descending into a food induced coma. My lunch companion had the red curry and loved it. No room for dessert but we did have some delicious hot Thai tea throughout the meal. I had been to Aroi many years ago and remembered really enjoying it. If I lived in the area, I'd eat here frequently.

Every month my girlfriends and I like to try a new place. We had Aroi on our list for a little while. It met all our expectations. The flavor of this food was amazing!! This is definitely a place we will come back to again to try more items on the menu. The waitress was sweet and attentive but not overbearing. The restaurant isn't very big and they weren't sure if they could take us but graciously added a seat to a two top. It is a simply decorated place where people converse in hushed volumes. Perfect for a date night.

Thai iced tea

Cute Thai spot in rhinebeck. Closed from 3-5. Lots of the usual yummy options. Thai iced tea was good. Service was good. 1 bathroom. Got the basil fried rice with chicken, hot and was perfect. Got the tom yum soup without anything in it. I just love the broth. I would have liked mushrooms n carrots but those weren't options. Seems to be the only authentic Thai restaurant in the area. I will def be back when I want Thai.

We are walk-in, take-out, cash customers every month or two. We're quite satisfied with the…read morereasonably-priced food and think it rates 4+ for take-out. Our order is always ready on time. About that: if you've phoned in your order, try to arrive at the when-promised time, as the waiting space is rather drab. We also recommend asking for an itemized sales slip to make sure every item paid for is included. At each of our last two visits we were disappointed, once home, to find the "extra sauce" item absent--but charged for. We'll chalk them up to honest mistakes, but the owners should guard against risking an even worse appearance. We're sorry to give Kai's only a 3+ for now, but it's with a promise to revise upward after a few problem-free visits to come.

It appears that they do a lot of takeout, as there were only three tables inside the restaurant. It's obviously a family run place, because of one of the children was playing with their toys off in a corner of the kitchen. I decided to go for the shrimp toast, appetizer, and the lunch, special of shrimp and lobster sauce with vegetable fried rice, and wonton soup. The food came quick, and it was absolutely amazing. The shrimp toast was crunchy, and had a lot of filling in it. You could definitely taste the shrimp. There were six of them in the appetizer, which was very generous for the price. I was going to take a few home with me, but I couldn't stop eating them. I finished off the whole appetizer. I loved the shrimp in lobster sauce. At first, I was confused, because it was like an egg drop soup with shrimp in it. I thought it was going to be a Brown sauce. Then I realized, that's what lobster sauce is I was confusing lobster sauce with oyster sauce. The soup was creamy, rich, and delicious. There were "only" four shrimp in the bowl. I say "only" because those shrimp were huge! They were tender and delicious, and a very generous portion. The fried rice had a good flavor to it as well the rice was not under or overdone, and they were generous with the veggies.. I ended up taking home some of my shrimp main dish, and all of my wonton soup. The wonton soup reheated, wonderfully, the broth was delicious, and the wontons were tender. With a large amount of delicious filling. The price for everything was absolutely reasonable. I would come back in a heartbeat. Thank you!

They tell you to call them when you are parked outside and they will bring you the food. This time I did as instructed. When you call them, the Noise level is so loud that you actually have to yell as loud as you can - just to hear yourself! Seriously unpleasant! I let them know that I am right outside the window. Then I waited patiently. Got involved with my phone. No problem. They left my order sitting on the counter inside getting cold and they forgot about it! I could have sat patiently for another half hour, without them realizing. Eventually, I realized that there is something wrong so I called again. The young lady brought it out, acknowledged that she forgot about it and apologized. That's appropriate. It seems that curbside pickup is too complicated for them to manage or the team is overwhelmed. Could I suggest a systems improvement? Maybe a yellow post It tag for curbside pickup to distinguish it from inside pickup? Whatever they need to make it work? Surely, they can do better! Helpful?

I like the large Mexican/Asian fusion menu. There is something on it for everybody. I started with the Malay curry wontons. Dumplings in a red curry sauce. They were delicious! They were tender, the generous filling was delicious, and they had just a little bit of a gentle heat to them. I could feel my forehead sweat just a little bit. I liked them. For my main course, , I had the Asian rice bowl with teriyaki beef. I chose the seasoned rice, and it came topped with cabbage, carrot, cucumber, bean sprouts, broccoli, bokchoy, cilantro, and egg. I had mine with Teriyaki Sauce. The bowl was huge, and it was delicious. The meat was tender and had a good flavor, the veggies, and the rice were done just right, and I like the addition of the egg. Everything played very well together. It was rich, but not overly so. There was a lot of food, and I took some of the dumplings and the rice bowl home for later. I had a soda, but they also offer Boba tea, beer, even soju, among other things.. The price was very reasonable, especially for the fact that I got two meals out of it. I will be back. Thank you.
