I would not recommend anyone go Here. I walked in and Armando seemed incredibly annoyed that a customer walked in in the first place, the place was a disaster, and as I showed him what I wanted to be tailored I felt like I was speaking to someone who had never tailored before. He was rude, dismissive, and told me to try the shirt on in the back - in a disgusting small bathroom. I did not have my item tailored here as it felt dirty, and as a woman I felt extremely uncomfortable. Do NOT come here. read more

You guys with your one star reviews are crazy. Armando is probably the best tailor I've ever had. He might be a little slow but that's just cause he's busy doing a great job on the clothing he's sent. Give him a time frame and he will get your stuff done by that time. I've taken him jeans, leather jackets, shirts to be resized, and I'm gonna take him my suit in a few weeks. Honestly you won't get quality work for a better price. read more

Armando did a job for me that several tailors turned down - that is to hem some taffeta curtains which themselves were multiple layers of material. His prices were extremely affordable considering the amount of time he likely spent on this project. His work is very good. I should be giving him 4 stars, but alas: He could use A LOT of finesse as a businessman. I was told my alteration would be ready by a certain day, I got there after that date even and he said his machine had broken and he hasn't started the work. So a bit miffed I said I just drove out here for naught, and he was blaise when saying "sorry." So I said please call me next time when it's ready. Another week and a half go by, no call, nothing and I have to call him again to find out its ready. "You didn't call me.". "Oh sorry" was all I got. There is no excuse for bad communication. Armando may not be English-fluent...still there's no excuse. Professionalism is cross-cultural. However, if you are willing to followup with Armando - and to make sure that your alterations are done by the date promised, then, he is a very good affordable choice. To be fair, my project was likely more complex than others, and he was dedicated enough to take a stab at it. read more

You can't beat his prices. I think he's tailored every dress shirt and jacket I have now. He's just 1 guy in a small shop so you do need to give him time if you want a lot of things tailored. read more

"Two weeks" turned into 2 months. I asked him to replace the lining in a leather jacket and take 1 cuff length from the sleeves of a heavy work coat. I knew he would be late based on all of his reviews, so I was prepared for him to wait longer. No way I expected it to take 2 months! The most annoying moment was, after calling him and hearing him say "I finish Monday." His English is so poor, I mistook him for meaning he "finished" Monday. So when I arrived to pick it up (after 5 weeks), he said he wasn't finished. I could only be mad at myself though. He did say he "I finish Monday." Of course, another 2 weeks went by and I stopped in to pick up my clothes. He took too much length off the coat, leaving the sleeves ending a few inches from my wrist. The lining on the leather jacket was not properly sewn down in the corners, either. So, I pointed these things out and left empty-handed--again. I finally went back after the 8th week and recovered my jacket and coat. After 2 months, the weather is no longer cold in L.A., so I can't even wear them for another 9 months. Sorry to bitch, but I was so annoyed. To be fair, the price was very, very inexpensive. Still, I'll never go there again. read more

Horrible experience. He did not perform the work he agreed to, and I even prepaid him. Not only did he not finish the work, he forgot about altering my suit and shirts all together after I left them with him for a week. I won't recommend using Armando's. He was very unprofessional, offered no solution, and only gave an excuse of "I forgot my friend". Definitely not the type of business worth doing business with. read more

Dropped off a pair of pants that got ripped while working to be patched and when I went to pick up the shop was closed, and have since tried to go back 3 more times and it has not been open. Not sure if he's just on holiday or what but seems like I should just go buy a new pair of pants :( read more

I went to this tailor as a referral from Abaya Alterations as she does not work on pant suits. As soon as I walked in, there were a few folks chatting around. Seems like a friendly place. I went to have my white blazer tailored, arms taken up & shorten from the bottom. He told me he would need a week, where I picked up a week later. It was perfect. Armando was also the cheapest place that quoted me for the work. Street parking and its not fanciest of places but that is why its inexpensive. I called twice and he does not answer his phone, but a answering machine does pick up. So happy I went here. read more

Been here twice to pick up my tailored pants and the place is always closed during times that it is supposed to be open. First time, I arrived for a pick up and the guy was leaving 5 minutes before closing and was too lazy to go back in and get my stuff. Second time, I arrived an hour before closing and he was already gone and I still do not have my stuff. read more

Armando is an amazing professional in his field! Excellent experience receiving his services. Very punctual, accurate and accommodating. All five stars! Highly recommend! read more

I was sent here by Abaya Alterations on Sunset in Silver Lake because I needed some tailoring that she was not capable of. There was some miscommunication between Armando and I as to when my jackets would be ready, so it took me a few times of coming by for them to be completed. When it was all said and done he was only 2 business days late from when he originally said they would be ready (he didn't account for him not working Thanksgiving week, etc). But I brought him a suede coat and a nice Japanese coat that needed some not insignificant restructuring, and he did both perfectly. Will definitely be going back for all my alteration needs. read more

He's great! I've gotten costs, blazers, pants, and shirts altered here for years and he does and great job. Usually takes 3-4 to get clothes back. Good prices too. read more

I've been going to Armando for a couple of years - he's tailored at least a dozen dresses, shirts, and pants for me. He's a kind man of few words (speaks mostly Spanish), who has done exactly what I've needed every time. Plus, he's affordable! Make sure you communicate about when you need your piece ready. read more

I had gone to another Tailor on Sunset to get a jacket tailor. But she told me that was not the best person to tailor a man's coat. So she recommend Armando's Tailor. I went there with my coat. I told him what I needed (shoulders taken in, sleeves slimmed, and the mid-drift taken in. He took care of all of it in a about a week. in total I wanna say it about 70 bucks. He's been cool. Just make sure to call ahead and make sure your clothes is ready before you go pick it up. He also tailored a part of nice snowboard pants. I got on sale, but were to big. I figured I could get a tailor to get them re-sized. I brought them here and he totally did a great job for 26 bucks. Saved me a tone of money doing it that way. read more
