Please read! For starters they have a small cat walking around all over peoples clothes resulting in my items smelling upon picking them up. Last week I dropped off my garment and was told it would be ready for an event I had Friday. I called Friday at 1pm to confirm my item was done and they told me yes. I then arrived Friday to find out my garment had not even been started on! The girl working there attempted to act like she had never met me in front of the owner. To make up for it they sewed my top as quickly as possible which ended up turning out sloppily. Only giving 2 star because I wasn't charged due to inconvenience. Do not recommend!!!!

This is the number for the store. Not the one displayed within the Yelp info.

Ooh I'm so happy I found a great alteration spot. I was tired of these ridiculous prices that I almost went back to the valley to get my things done. Not only were the tailors here honest but the prices were fair and I love that it's a mom and pop shop, it's been there for years. *Hooray to fighting gentrification!* I will be honest, Spanish is the primary language spoken yet, it shouldn't stop one from obtaining great care and quality work. Everyone is so kind and warm, it feels like it's your Tios & Tias' hemming your clothes.

They preserved the frayed hem by "folding" and stitching the fabric--not as I had requested.

DON'T GO! DON'T GO! Like the last 3 reviewers have warned, something is wrong here. I've never had tailoring done here before, although I've lived in Echo Park since 1988. I think after the demographics changed with gentrification, word got out that trustworthy, well-reviewed, inexpensive tailoring was done here. So the problem may be they are now overloaded with new clients, and being completely disorganized--which worked in the erstwhile days of yore--they can't keep track of clients' stipulations. About a month and a half ago, I came in with several items. One was a pair of "workout jeans" that needed to be taken in. I have two pairs; one was a perfect size small, and other, also a small per the tag, was more like a medium. I brought in both pairs and explained that the good jeans with a "CORRECT PANTS" post-it safety-pinned on them were the model for the large pants. Size the large pants down to the small. What happened? The seamstress TOOK IN one side of the GOOD pants (crappy, perfunctory job--see photo), left the other side cut but not sewn, and never touched the large pants. I detailed what I wanted in Spanish and English, although my Spanish is passable, at best. (It's occurred to me that "correct pants" may have been interpreted as an imperative verb, not an adjective...) The day I went to pick up my items, I also brought three extra items (not knowing what I know now). One item was a brand new, not-on-sale, paid-outrageously-full-price jean skirt. It had a frayed hem and was about 3" too long. I tried it on, it was measured, and I specified, "Now see how there are two rows of stitching and then comes the fray? Just do the two rows, cut it, and I'll fray it." Nope. Take a look at what was done in the picture. Not to mention that when I went to pick up my three items, one--a satin belt--was missing! Turned out, Mr. Ruiz had let it fall on the floor behind the counter. Lucky me, after five minutes of despair, I had the intelligence to actually walk around the counter to look for it. And was the original buckle that I brought in the belt to have replaced by them given back to me as I had requested? I'll let you speculate, dear reader. My only alternative now is to try two tailors I've heard good things about: "Hamlet" on Hillhurst in Los Feliz (see Yelp), and Carlos Flores, a 3rd-generation tailor who works out of his home on Griffith Park Blvd. People on Nextdoor recommended him. 323-767-6854. Fingers crossed one of these tailors can salvage the mess. The workout pants are discontinued and irreplaceable. I fear I shall just have to suck it up.

Dress is 4 inches shorter than we had measured and the hem is noticeably very uneven :(

Did a great job fixing a few years in my expensive dress. You can barely see where it was ripped!

Had to give them a call just to make sure but once I was inside, it was an amazing experience with tons of vintage denim to browse. Shoutout to the amazing employees who were warm and answered all the questions I had. Originally was told it was going to take 2 weeks but the turn around was 4 days which was a nice surprise. The denim now hugs my waist perfectly and I look forward to wearing it for a long time!

I left to the fashion district - which is only about 15 minutes away - and got the button hardware piece, the buttonhole made, and button installed for $16. In addition, I got another 10 buttons and rivet pack for my own use for only about $10. For any small or beginner designer, I would not recommend the price point that I was quoted for hardware installation ($10 per rivet installed and 40$ for a button and buttonhole to be installed). I am not speaking to the quality of their work as I do not know it or have any experience with it, simply sharing my opinion. Get a hammer and do it at home, or take it to the fashion district for the button and buttonhole.

I know accidents will happen, that's fine - What matters most to me is feeling like my money is going to an earnest, good-hearted business owner. She has a big heart and I will continue to give her my business moving forward. --- I sent a collection of 5 silk shirts to be drycleaned last week, and one of them was washed in blue ink and completely ruined. She immediately offered to replace the shirt, and acknowledged it was an expensive brand (retails for $230 new). I called back a few days later to follow up, and they informed me they can only give me $50 drycleaning credit. What the hell? She tried to say it was no longer worth $230 because it wasn't brand new with tags on. She said this kind of thing happens "all the time" and they can't afford to replace every single shirt that gets ruined. I am appalled. Beware, y'all. You may be sending your nice clothing to the lion's den if you go here. Anyone giving this place a positive review has been super lucky to not have an article of clothing damaged. Once your clothing gets damaged (and it happens "all the time"), you're screwed and they offer zero customer service. FIND ANOTHER DRYCLEANER. Drive a little further to Silver Lake Cleaners or Griffith Park Cleaners!!
