Two healthy happy pups thanks to Ark Vets!
    Aleya D.

Both my pups love going to Ark Vets! The team is always fast, kind, and informative. They gave us so much peace of mind when our little dog got sick and we couldn't figure out what was wrong. They've also been incredibly helpful in supporting us as we adjusted our new rescue into our home. We're so grateful for their care and compassion.

Hippo girl is scared... But she's UTD! Yay!

She said he would get better care elsewhere and recommended another emergency vet. I called that vet, confirmed they could take him, and then waited roughly 30 minutes for my dog to be returned to me. When I politely asked how much longer it would be, the woman on the right side of the counter--the fat stud with black hair--snapped that there were three people ahead of me and acted like I was bothering her. I explained that I was trying to get my dog to the other ER they had recommended, and she chuckled and scoffed at me. I saw her treat another woman the same way when she asked about the wait for her smaller dog. She raised her voice and snapped, "There are three people!" Apparently, being rude to worried pet owners was how she handled a simple question. Then the staff member who had told me about my dog's vitals raised her voice, insisted she had never said they couldn't help him, and said the doctor still needed to see him. So why had she recommended that I call another ER? I was trying to follow the advice I'd been given and get my dog care as quickly as possible. Instead of explaining the plan, they became defensive and confrontational. I had to walk away so I wouldn't argue with the staff. I was already in distress and just wanted to help my dog. I came in frightened for my dog's safety, not looking for an argument. I should not have had to deal with conflicting information and disrespect just to get my dog back and take him elsewhere. The only person who showed either of us any kindness was the sweet black woman who finally brought him out. She was sweet to both of us and even said goodbye to him. She deserves recognition. The rest of this experience was completely unacceptable.I would give zero stars if I could!

VEG saved my dog's life!!!…read more My dog, Emma, was getting very sick very fast, when my vet recommended taking her to a hospital for 24 hour fluids and monitoring of her kidneys. I took her to VEG, and the experience here was nothing short of exceptional. To start, checking in was like going to a real hospital. When we walked in, she was immediately triaged by the vet and techs. They talked me through their process, recommendations and provided pricing for total transparency. All of this took place on the open floor, so I could stay with my dog through it all which was comforting. They also let me know that we were welcome to stay as long as we wanted and even stay the night, which was an incredible offer. My dog ended up needing to stay for 4 days, which was scary and stressful, but we felt so much more comfortable leaving her there because we knew she was getting the best care. Everyday we received progress update calls from the vet. We also got to stay and sit with Emma for as long as we wanted each day, where we got to witness how much everyone truly cares for all their pet patients. Honestly, the amount of love shown to every person and pet was moving. When Emma finally turned the corner to safely bring her home, the staff literally rolled out a red carpet so everyone could clap and say goodbye. It still brings a tear to my eye that they did that for her. I am so grateful to everyone at VEG for taking amazing care of my baby, but an extra special shoutout has to go to Emma's nurse Mary. She was so kind, open, gentle and loving with Emma. The love Mary showed us all will never be forgotten. Thank you VEG for making the hospital process so transparent, for everyone's hard work, and for making our baby healthy again

As worried pet parents, it's incredibly stressful when something happens in the middle of the night, especially when you're away from home. The team at Yavapai Emergency Animal Hospital was wonderful. They were caring, compassionate, and took the time to evaluate our girl and make sure she was comfortable. Since we were only in the area temporarily, they provided pain medication to help keep her comfortable until we could get her back down to the Valley for follow-up care with our regular veterinarian. What really stood out to me was their follow-up and communication. They called the next day to check on her, and they promptly forwarded all of her records to both our regular veterinarian and the surgeon who will be performing her CCL surgery. Having that coordination already handled took a lot of stress off our shoulders during an already difficult time. I hope we never need emergency veterinary care again, but if we do while we're in the Prescott Valley area, I wouldn't hesitate to bring my pets here. Unfortunately, my late, sweet angel of a Bichon Frise has recently passed, however it was extremely helpful to have brought her here to this facility to understand more in depth the severity of her medical issue. Not only is the staff here so friendly and empathetic, they are also punctual, efficient and very honest. My dog sitter ended up taking my dog here one night while we were out of town to deal with her chronic vomiting. The vet caring for her that evening spoke with me directly over the phone to go over treatment options. I thoroughly appreciated her honesty. I ended up having to take my dog back here one night a few weeks later due to the vomiting starting up again and her primary vet also suggested what she's going through needs to be handled at an actual animal hospital. This second visit was just as efficient and also they were kind enough to waive certain fees due to us returning back to them in such a short amount of time. I also like the fact that we're able to use payment plan options via Affirm. That was extremely helpful for me during this previous emotionally tumultuous season. He'd had a full check up within weeks and actually was at VEG about a month before for an unrelated GI issue. We had unfortunately been to several other emergency vets before making it to VEG, as we were out and about when the crisis started. I also had my little pug with me as getting care for my Great Dane was a bigger priority than taking her home. Once again the staff at VEG surrounded us with compassionate care. Nothing could have changed the outcome of the day but I am so grateful that at every moment the VEG staff was working to save my dog and caring so much for all of our comfort. They immediately got several large beds and a blanket for him to lie down and offered me a cushion. They handled him with love and checked on us in so many ways. And they tried. At one point we had something like 6 people working to stabilize him and everyone was focused and on task. I felt they worked on him not like a job but as if he was their own. I know its hard to work on a holiday and I know his death was emotional for everyone. But thank you all because at least I was with him to the very end and he knew he was being cared for. Being able to be with your dog throughout care is such a meaningful difference in the veterinary industry and in both owners and pets experience with vet care, and I feel like VEG always has such caring people. Thank you, though honestly have to say I'm hoping to see you all less in 2026.

We initially called them when we were headed their way, to get their thoughts, and did appreciate them giving us some insight on the phone. We opted to stop in to be on the safe side. It was a bit quieter this time around, so we were able to get in a room right away and seen relatively quickly. It was a very much a "Got to rule out the options" type situation that required a bit more guesswork. Based on the initial intake, they recommended a blood panel, a SNAP panel (bloodwork specifically for ticks), X-rays and possible CT. We decided to start with the bloodwork, to minimize putting our dog through more procedures than necessary. They also have a relatively quick turn around time of 20-30 minutes for the results, making it easy to proceed if necessary. The tech we spoke with was nice, but a little brisk and not super helpful which inquiring on the next steps/options. She did mention a CT may be required and was helpful in getting prices and options for same day if needed. We did get the blood work results back, about an hour later, and Dr. Robinson came to speak with us, with a good news, bad news sitch. He had gotten an infection from a tick and his body was having trouble clotting and fighting it off, hence the nosebleed. She did a great job explaining and laying out all the details. Luckily, it was in the treatable phase and she ran through the prescriptions and care that would be required and let us know they would bring back the medication and Roni shortly. About an hour plus later...they bring him back, His nose had not stopped bleeding the entire time! Not their fault, it was uncontrollable, and they attempted, but was just not really treatable. We ended up spending about 4 1/2 hours there, most of that time which was not with our dog. All the initial exams and what not I understand, but getting the results and talking to the doctor, and still waiting another hour after the fact, seemed longer than necessary and we just felt bad for our pup, because we would have rather been with our dog waiting, then him in the back while waiting alone. A few other key details: It's $190 regardless for your pet to be examined, which you need to pay up front. Any other services, you pay for if you decide to proceed. They have two entrances, one for cats and one for dogs. it leads to the same space, but has separate sides to the same counter which is nice. The Dr recommended Nexgard (Tick treatment), which they do not have onsite, we had inquired if we could order from Chewy digitally, they said yes, but turns out they cannot. They do send home a paper prescription, but something to keep in mind or double check on. Overall, very grateful they figured out what was wrong and took care of him. The space was clean and staff was overall friendly. Their prices seem reasonable as well. A bit more communication would have been appreciated, especially regarding time, or at least updates so we knew he was okay and maybe a bit more guidance on what treatments make the most sense. They do a great job and though I hope you never need to go to the emergency vet, they are a great 24 hour accessible options.
