What an A+ urgent vet care experience. I found the spot through reading reviews here on Yelp. Unfortunately, my late, sweet angel of a Bichon Frise has recently passed, however it was extremely helpful to have brought her here to this facility to understand more in depth the severity of her medical issue. Not only is the staff here so friendly and empathetic, they are also punctual, efficient and very honest. My dog sitter ended up taking my dog here one night while we were out of town to deal with her chronic vomiting. The vet caring for her that evening spoke with me directly over the phone to go over treatment options. I thoroughly appreciated her honesty. I ended up having to take my dog back here one night a few weeks later due to the vomiting starting up again and her primary vet also suggested what she's going through needs to be handled at an actual animal hospital. This second visit was just as efficient and also they were kind enough to waive certain fees due to us returning back to them in such a short amount of time. I also like the fact that we're able to use payment plan options via Affirm. That was extremely helpful for me during this previous emotionally tumultuous season. My dog died at VEG. On Christmas. So pretty much the worst #$@# day for me, as it was completely unexpected. He'd had a full check up within weeks and actually was at VEG about a month before for an unrelated GI issue. We had unfortunately been to several other emergency vets before making it to VEG, as we were out and about when the crisis started. I also had my little pug with me as getting care for my Great Dane was a bigger priority than taking her home. Once again the staff at VEG surrounded us with compassionate care. Nothing could have changed the outcome of the day but I am so grateful that at every moment the VEG staff was working to save my dog and caring so much for all of our comfort. They immediately got several large beds and a blanket for him to lie down and offered me a cushion. They handled him with love and checked on us in so many ways. And they tried. At one point we had something like 6 people working to stabilize him and everyone was focused and on task. I felt they worked on him not like a job but as if he was their own. I know its hard to work on a holiday and I know his death was emotional for everyone. But thank you all because at least I was with him to the very end and he knew he was being cared for. Being able to be with your dog throughout care is such a meaningful difference in the veterinary industry and in both owners and pets experience with vet care, and I feel like VEG always has such caring people. This is the most amazing emergency vet clinic I've ever been to. I got to the clinic and told the front staff what the problem with my dog was and then she walked with us to the back and called for a vet immediately. Within 1 min from arrival i was being seen by the doctor. This place allows for you to walk to the back with your pet and stay with them most of the time unless they need to do a test on them. The entire staff was very attentive and very sweet. Highly recommend! read more

100% saved my 6 week old chow chow from parvo. I chose the outpatient treatment regimen for her, which I was so nervous to do, but frankly couldn't fathom the high cost of inpatient care. The doctors and staff fully informed me on what I needed to do with all the medications and fluids they sent me home with. They educated me on additional options available and what to do for follow up care. This was the second time we've been here - the first time they saved my 10 month old chow chow after he ate sugar free gum. In both instances, they made sure I walked away feeling ready to take on any aftercare needs. I trust this place with my babies and know that, should something else happen, I will make the 45 min trip in a heartbeat to have them treated by the VEG staff. read more

Well the outcome was not what we hoped for. Our Labrador (Saddie) had started to get sick on Sunday. We figured maybe she just wasn't feeling good. Monday night she was very bad to where she could not see bumping into walls and off balance. So we rushed her to this animal hospital. They ran tests on her and she had an ear infection middle ear. They sedated her cleaned out her ear and put some medicine in her ear. We took Her home and 2 hours later she was starting to whine cry and she has never been like this. She wouldn't respond to us and we knew it was now bad to where we had to take her back to clinic. They anted to try and change her medication which at this point our dog was suffering and it just wasn't right to put her through this much pain. The Dr was amazing and a very good Dr. Rhonda was her name and she respected our decision to place her in gods hands and to be with her brother. The staff was very polite and sincere. I wish animal hospitals were like human hospitals. Treat them no matter what. Thank You! read more

I wish I could give this place ten stars--or maybe 100. The people who work here are happy and helpful and friendly and truly care! My dog ate a bunch of raisins, which can be very toxic, so she is on an IV and I'm spending the night in a Murphy bed right next to her so she's not scared. This is by far the best experience I've ever had in a vet's office or almost anywhere else! I can't imagine being in better hands. Choose this emergency vet over all others! read more

I met a little stray 2 days ago. He was skeletal, but with a very bloated belly. He was a beautiful guy and I was ready to take him on as my new bestie. Unfortunately, his condition was very poor and there was not much to be done. From the desk staff to the nurses and interns to the amazing vet, the experience was top-notch. I was allowed to stay with him the entire time while they tested him for various infections and parasites. I fell in love with this cat and it broke my heart to let him go, but the staff were so kind and gentle and caring, they made it as easy as it could possibly be. THey were very generous about the cost as well, which I really apprecaited. If you are on the fence and have read all the one star reviews, I implore you to give these docs your trust. I have taken pets to many different ER Vets and this was by far the best. read more

Brought my 2 year old dog in for a consultation for a baby tooth extraction. They also said we might want to have her teeth cleaned since she would be under anesthesia. That was not the reason for the consult. The estimate provided was for the extraction, teeth cleaning and pain meds. I normally take my dogs for nonanesthesia teeth cleaning as they are under 10 pounds and don't feel the risk of putting them under is worth it. The office sent me an invoice to pay before calling to say my dog was finished. The office then called and said they decided not to pull the extra baby tooth. So, I paid $425 to have her teeth cleaned for no apparent reason. So frustrated and disappointed. I could have taken her to my regular nonanesthesia place for $180. We brought her home and she obviously is groggy and not even eating. Too much trauma to put a 2 year old dog through for not even addressing the problem. I will never be back and will be taking my dog for a second opinion. Now, she will most likely have to be put under anesthesia again if the tooth needs extraction. This particular tooth interferes with her lip closing over it and also with dry kibble falling out of her mouth when she eats. They informed me they don't pull healthy teeth, but they would have known this from the initial consult. I believe their diagnosis was a blatant misrepresentation or just an outright lie. I will NEVER be returning for ANY additional services. read more

On 05/30/26 we went here at 2 in the morning and waited over an hour all they did was look at my sister in laws cats weight and temperature. After that we waited an hour and nothing my sister n law and husband went to ask the nurse what was taking so long and they said it would be a minute bc more patients were coming in then more than 30 mins go by or wtv what is taking so long and that we have been waiting for over and hour and she had an attitude with her and said that dr butt was with a critical patient. And that if we want we can just go to a different location as if our cat is not in pain. It was absolutely ridiculous we ended up walking out and there was no other patients and everyone was just sitting in their asses looking at us. No one apologized for the inconvenience of wasting our time. Horrible customer service. They were all lazy and didn't want to do their job and were rude. If I was the manager of this place I would have a serious talk to everyone and have more doctors on duty bc why would you have one doctor at a 24/7 emergency place. We are never coming back here again. Seriously tho who ever is in charge needs to get new ppl that want to work or train their staff better. read more

Brought our dog in with several pictures of blood in her stool. $1,500 visit. Left with paperwork with my dog and another dogs name, the other dog's diagnosis, with meds for the other dog. No conclusive answers or suggestions of what to do next because doc was convinced she was treating the symptoms from the other dog. Awful!!! read more

They sent my dog home having a stroke, she couldn't walk and was basically unresponsive. And they made us sit there while she whimpered and cried for 6 straight hours, before sending us home only for me to have to watch her die that night. I will never forget that she had to suffer in the last hours that I had with the baby I had taken care of for 16 years. Please take your dog to your family vet before coming here. They are very clearly overworked, and have 0 empathy for you or your pet in their final moments. read more

I feel beyond lucky this veterinary emergency clinic is so close to us. I have never seen anything like it as far as VETs. We had to take our 12 year old boxer in to be put to sleep at 2am on a Wednesday, which was enormously hard for us. The level of care, consideration, time they gave us was so far above and beyond - they truly care about young your pet, not to mention when you walk in it looks like a full blown hospital ER. We were walked in and taken to our own private room with a bed and couch and everything we needed to make her feel at peace. I cannot thank everyone enough for your care. read more

After my Shih Tzu was bitten in the head by a larger dog, I took him into Veterinary Emergency Group. They were recommended by Kennel Care, which is my regular veterinarian. After evaluating my dog Dr. Payton Bayless said that the his left eye was injured so badly that it needed to be removed. This of course was a shock, but I was comforted by a very nice vet tech Lynda Wittig through throughout the entire day. My dog and I received great care and compassion by this hospital. I was allowed to stay with my dog throughout the day and even after surgery, which was very helpful. They have some great people there and really love animals. Haven and Sydney at the front desk were quick to react and we were attended to immediately. Thank you all for making this horrifying day a little less painful. read more

Happy holidays to all at VEG clinic iChandler, AZ. Our cat Dolly(Mr. Dolly Parton), Woke up sick and we were worried sick. I did a Google search and found a VEG clinic very close by. I called in and was on the phone with a very professional, knowledgeable, caring individual immediately. We talked about our situation and decided to bring him in straight away. A team member greeted ​us at the door! The team made us feel so welcome and comforted i could feel our energy take a big sigh of relief. The team swooped in and got to work on our Lil guy. Anna, my daughter, and I felt confident that we were in the right place. Most importantly, Dolly felt better too! After the visit they helped us with our bill. We are going thru a financially hard time and they were fabulous and so so generous with us. On top of all this the clinic is Top Notch! Very spacious, clean, classy and have a yummy selection of complimentary snacks and beverages. The coffee/latte/espresso machine is soooo fancy! VEG gave my wife and I something every fur-parent looks for and that's top tier care. Our golden retriever had some breathing issues Christmas Eve, we decided to bring him in. Dr. Bradley and her team immediately rushed to our aid to get our senior dog of 10 years checked out. The amount of care and intentionality brought to us was amazing. Upon X-ray results the very unfortunate news of cancer being spread throughout his lungs was broke to us. All of a sudden our world was flipped upside down, Dr. Bradley sat with us and ensured every question we had was answered and every possible decision was worked through. She gave me what I've never seen before from any medical personal which was keeping the highest form of professionalism while being incredibly empathetic, warm, and keeping a human connection. We ultimately decided to bring our sweet boy Samson home to say our goodbyes. Early Christmas morning Sammyboy got worse, we brought him back in for the hardest thing we've ever had to do. Insert Ashia (ShiShi) on of the vet tech nurses. In the middle of the night shift, Christmas morning away from her loved ones she made us feel like family. She was there for us in every sense of the way, she modeled what unconditional love is supposed to look like. Again, service was excellent, but I didn't expect to stack up a bill for over $1700 in 1 hour, and that's not including the cost of cremation. I would have wanted the ashes, but that was additional cost on top of what we had to spend. I missed my pet and deeply heartbroken, but I think the staff knew the fighting chance was slim to none. So why this cost? I am assuming the staff have dealt with this enough time to know where it's heading. Plus it's devasting to see our pet in the clinic like that for several hours. Going to the animal hospital is always a scary situation and I cannot thank the staff enough. My dad had to bring my baby in to see the hospital right away because I was worried of a blockage. Dr. Julia P was our attendance doctor for my pup the whole time and was able to help my dad out when we dropped off and then when I was able to pick up my dog was able to help me out she seemed compassionate and caring, this is not an easy job and a stressful environment to even have a smile on their faces is a huge accomplishment. Of course the ER prices are always more than going to your regular vet, but unfortunately, when there are circumstances that you can't go to your regular doctor. it's nice to know you have a company that is caring for you and your pet. Thank you all so much. - this review is from 10/26 and my emergency visit. I call today 10/28 and was concerned about my pup still not feeling well. Dr. Wyatt tell me ways to worry me more, and then tell me if I bring her in, to her who she didn't see Saturday, they wouldn't charge me an exam fee. However, if I wait till tomorrow to see the actual vet my pup saw on Saturday I'd have to pay about the $200 vet fee. This is for the same exact reason she'd be seeing them but a one day difference. This center is everything you could ask for in an emergency situation with your fur baby. I took my pup here in March 2025 and am so grateful for the urgency, care and kindness that was shown to me and my dog. I've come to understand that not all animal hospitals move with the same sense of urgency and attention, which is what is not needed in the scariest moments with your pets. The only reason why the review is 3 stars instead of 4 was the wait. I arrived around 7:35pm & left around 10:35pm. I want to mention that everyone was really kind, welcoming, informative, detail oriented, caring, accommodating, good customer service, compassionate and the facility was clean. I appreciate the staff taking time to address & take care of my dog. I totally understand there's emergencies, operations, sick animals & possibly short staff. The major drawback was it took almost an hour & half just to pay & check out. The patients that arrived the same time as me & right after me, left already. I took my senior dog to get an emergency check up. The exam, glucose draw & results didn't take too long. If there's a way their team can set up a more time efficient checkout & payment process, for their patient that was seen already & good to go, that would be awesome. read more

We brought our 7 year baby in after our primary vet recommended that we bring him to Veg for overnight care . After 6 hours of labs , X-rays our Doctor suggested trying to get him to eat something while we were there otherwise he would need a feeding tube. Our baby willing ate a bowl of canned chicken , reacted to squeaky toys , this all gave us hope that he would likely recover in their care . Sadly that night we got a call at 1 in the morning , that he had gotten worse and they were worried he would go into cardiac arrest. We rushed in and seen for ourselves that he had gotten worse and immediately rushed to put him to sleep while he was still in the main lobby kennel. We still don't have a diagnosis. We picked up our baby's remains a few days ago . Completely heart broken and confused with guilt asking ourselves if we had done the right thing ,. The staff and doctors were very attentive . I just wish we had answers or at least a likely cause explanation of what was going on with him. read more

I recently had to visit here because it was Sunday and all the vets are closed. My cat had an abcess from a bite on his neck I was unaware of and it burst. I was horrified and drove the 30 minutes into Chandler. They greeted me kindly despite the fact they were slammed with hurt animals. They got me to a room, took my cat's vitals and gave him a shot for pain. I had to wait a bit because I could see that they were dealing with a few traumatic situations, but a dr came in and told me what they thought needed doing, then gave me a list of things they might need to do and a payment scenario. I gave a deposit through my phone app and waited for a bit til things quieted down. They did come in and check on me twice and brought me a large glass of water. When it was my cat's turn they gave him their full attention and I was able to be with him during his whole ordeal. We stayed another 20 mins to make sure he would come out of the sedation ok then I brought him home with some NSAID pills for his pain. I sat with him at home for the rest of the day and gave him a pain pill after he ate a bit. He seems like he will recover nicely. Thank you VEG staff. read more

It's been almost a year since I lost my baby at this hellhole. It's taken me this long to even think about sharing how horrible our experience was. From watching them let some new tech/trainee use my dog in heart failure as a pin cushion while being coached on how to start an IV, to standing there waiting while they simply did not administer the IV lasix we knew he needed asap despite checking in online before arriving, to the condescending tone and attitude with which the vet completely ignored my questions about making him comfortable... I will never forget or forgive how we were treated on the worst night of my life. The text they sent re: the $800 bill for torturing my dog during his final moments while we were still driving home was disgusting. Our regular vet was appalled to hear how everything was handled and immediately removed them from their voicemail for patients calling after hours. She cried with us and apologized for providing the referral. We had gone here once before and had an ok experience. If that's been your experience I'm glad but our very next visit was a complete nightmare that I will regret for the rest of my life. Do NOT chance it. First...it is an emergency vet so expect to be here a while! We visit was three hours for a sick kitty. Our regular vet @kennelcare sent us here and it was a good experience. They were extremely busy but Dr Hall was thorough and with a few tests the problem was identified. We were sent home after medication was administered and we continue to heal. read more
