Well the results are in. Lockjaw remember him pretty English bulldog? Everybody kept saying cancer cancer cancer. Well he got sick again in the very 1st heatwave this summer. I couldn't get him help fast enough and he died. So this time I paid for a full Necropsy by an independent veterinarian / Pathologist. 2 things came back that were no shock to me. There was no sign of cancer OH MY GOD what everybody was trying to get me to treat for CHA CHING! And official cause of death was Brachycephalic Airway Obstruction Syndrome with complications from rattlesnake bites. The Bites could have been treated with medication and the BAOS could have been solved with a stenotic nares surgery. To the vet that kept asking me did he get into anything poisonous? Gee I'm not sure do YOU think Rattlesnakes are poisonous? Bottom line they went for the high dollar treatment instead of what he really needed. The ONLY symptom they had to push them to cancer was a low RBC. Low RBC can be caused by a multitude of issues including an intolerance to heat. Locky was only ever sick in the summer. RIP by beautiful boy. read more

This is the WORSE and most expensive er vets. They don't have a clue how to diagnose an animal. All they do is want to charge for the most expensive tests they have first. They charge thousands of dollars for blood test and use your emotions to try and get you to purchase more expensive tests on your pet when normally its something simple. DO NOT GO! read more

I brought in my lovebirds knocking on deaths door and they were resuscitated by the end of day. When I was resting, they brought me a pillow. This place cares for the family, not just the pets. Top tier staff. Next level facilities. My dog ate some weed somewhere during a walk. I thought she had a stroke. I took her to VEG where she was immediately triaged by no less than 4 professional staff members, led by a highly capable Dr Schultz (sp). It didn't take them long to figure out what happened. After a few short minutes, the Dr had made a 100% accurate assessment. My dog was hydrated and given anti-nausea meds - without ANY attempt at upselling me on anything unnecessary. The price was very reasonable considering how well she was taken care of! This place should be the model for future animal hospitals. read more

Good care, but it was extraordinarily expensive. Our cat had IV fluid for dehydration and abdominal imaging and it cost $2000. No other procedures and discharged in hours. In my opinion, that's twice what it should have cost. read more

I highly recommend VEG! Our dog Karl was hit by a car while we were out of town. A good Samaritan brought him to VEG and I am so thankful. The doctor called and kept us updated until we could make it home. Once I arrived at the clinic I was able to spend the rest of his hospitalization with him (over 7 hours). We had to put our dog down unexpectedly and our regular vet had no openings for us. VEG got us right in. The staff was very caring and the room for end of life is called the Goodbye room. I am forever grateful for the Veterinary Emergency Group in Chandler, and will forever recommend them to every single person in need of emergency pet care. As I have sat at home, trying to process the past 72-96 hours, I still am struggling to put into words just how grateful I am for Dr. Chelsie Narito and the ENTIRE VEG team who was working on Thursday 7/27 and Friday 7/28. I have two dachshunds, which are the only two pets I've ever had in my life. My babygirl Kimber was experiencing back pains and struggled to walk; I took her in the first time Thursday morning and was met with such warmth and compassion from Dr. Narito and her team. They walked me through the entire process of treatment, ensured I was well-informed and went above and beyond to make both myself and Kimber comfortable. Dr. Narito made sure I understood her recommendations and discharge instructions. Dr. Narito demonstrated how she assessed whether Kimber's pain was strictly in her back, or if it was a neurological issue; Dr. Narito taught me how to look for the signs of what neurological issues could look like and provided me instructions on what to do, in the event that it progressed. Flash forward to 6 pm Thursday evening, Kimber's pain began to progress and she was struggling to urinate. I called VEG and Dr. Narito advised me to bring Kimber back in, as both of us were concerned. Once again, immediately entering the facility, Kimber and I were met with open arms from Dr. Narito and the same team who had treated Kimber earlier that morning. Dr. Narito was extremely thorough, hands on and professional when reassessing Kimber. Dr. Narito informed me of my options and allowed for me to make the best decision for my baby. Both Dr. Narito and I agreed Kimber would be less anxious at home and probably more comfortable to urinate there, rather than being admitted to the hospital. As soon as we got home, Kimber was able to urinate on her own and I had the biggest sigh of relief. Dr. Narito and her team followed up with me later that evening, through the following morning on Friday 7/28. Flash forward again to Friday 7/28, Kimber was in pain but taking her medicine accordingly. However, around 12:15, I knew deep down it had progressed to more than just back pain; I was able to complete a brief at home assessment with the tools and information Dr. Narito provided me the day before. I called VEG immediately and indicated Kimber was showing signs of neuro issues and they instructed me to bring her back immediately. As I was rushing Kimber back, I knew deep down in my heart that a decision was going to need to be made; however, I felt comfort in knowing Kimber was going to be in the best hands. Dr. Narito and her team provided calmness and comfort to both my husband and I, when informing us that we needed to take Kimber to a neurologist immediately, as she was a candidate for surgery. Dr. Narito allowed for these conversations to take place in the comfort of a private room, because she saw I was struggling to hold it together while in the main area. After a lot of tears and conversation between my husband and I, we knew it was the best thing to lay our sweet Kimberlina to rest. Given that I have only ever had 2 dogs in my lifetime, with Kimber being one of them, I have never gone through the pain, heartbreak and defeat that comes with putting a fur baby down. Dr. Narito and her team again, provided the most comfort and compassion I have ever felt - which was the most needed at that time. Dr. Narito and I believe Megan (super sweet nurse with blonde hair - I apologize for not remembering her name, I was in such shock) brought my husband, Kimber and I to their comfort room. They allowed for us to spend as much time with Kimber as we needed before laying her to rest; Megan (again I really hope I am correct in the name because she was the most incredible) walked us through the private cremation process, how it worked between VEG and the crematory, and allowed us to choose the best keepsake where we would keep Kimber's ashes. Dr. Narito and Megan talked me through each step of the process since this was my first time losing an animal; they explained what they were doing, why they were doing it and what to expect once it was completed. Dr. Narito allowed my husband and myself as much time as we needed in their comfort room with Kimber after she had officially passed. Each step of this process was taken at our own pace, which VEG encouraged and facilitated. Dr. Narito and the teams' support continued until the very moment my husband and I walked out of the front door without our precious Kimber. I was overwhelmed with how much each person who assisted in Kimber's care those two days, were so diligently working in her best interest. I've had to use the services here 3 times for emergency euthanasia. The staff is very kind and accommodating with what has to be the worst time for any pet owner. There is a nice room you go in with dim lighting and a couch and a doggie bed. They have the tech come in to place a PIC line and bring your dog a bowl of treats like steak and Hershey kisses. Then they give you all the time you need and then there is a little bell you can ring to let the vet know you are ready. Afterwards you are allowed to stay as long as you want with your pet. They also provide you with several options if you prefer burial vs cremation ect. It's never easy but I do feel VEG really provided the best care for the situation. read more

My pup got into some old food and became seriously ill with mold poisoning. We rushed her to VEG Chandler, and they were able to pump her stomach and save her life. From the moment we stepped in the door to the minute we left, the entire staff was amazing! They provided immediate and thorough treatment while showing sincere care for my canine baby. We were present the whole time, and we were able to snuggle on a couch while IV meds were given, which greatly reduced anxiety for both me and our dog!! Absolute worst mistake of my life bringing my dog here, and I will forever regret it. At least 50 techs in scrubs just standing around and maybe 3 dogs in the place and I sat there for over 3 hrs. My 13+ yr old dog had been throwing up after she ate so I brought her in. She sat there with me comfortably relaxing and not in any pain until they got ahold of her. When they FINALLY got to us, she was barely glanced at, the dr just sat there working on his iPad then told me to check my email. I was confused so asked him what he was talking about. It was an estimate to approve for over $2,200.00! I said whatever is going on here isn't happening, just give her an xray to see what's wrong. They gave her 2 IV's that made her sick and drooling for another hour. They finally snatched her away from me quickly to go for the xrays while I quickly ran to the restroom. When I came out, there was a crowd of techs surrounding the xray room. They oversedated my 13-1/2 hr old dog and she wasn't breathing on her own. From there it was another hour of absolute Hell with them basically saying to just let her go. I didn't get to say goodbye, nor her daddy, nor her sister. They finally got her breathing on her own and awake and we immediately got her out of there and home. They destroyed her throat by sticking tubes in her trachea and she was so sick now and in pain and it was a sleepless night for all of us, now that she had so much fluid in her lungs from the stuff they gave her that made her drool uncontrollably. We had to have her put down the next morning. I still have never received an email of what they did for her, what the charges were for, etc. They had me so distracted filling out credit apps on my phone, creating passwords, etc. I just wanted to have my dog checked out because she had been throwing up, that simple. At least we got to take her home that night still alive (no thanks to them) and were able to have a proper goodbye in the comfort of her own home surrounded by us and her sister dog. DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE EVEN IF AN EMERGENCY, FIND ANOTHER PLACE, ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS $$$$, NOT THE WELFARE OF YOUR PET!!!!! read more

I can't say enough great things about these wonderful people. I've been here for something simple like an allergic reaction to my old dog who got very sick. The vets, nurses, and all the other staff are incredible. I've been to many ERs in the west and east valley and they all never gave me or my dogs the time of day and often didn't take the time to properly assess my dog who had a chronic condition. They are incredible! Our wheaten was very urinating blood they told to us come when we could and let them know our eta, so they could have a team ready and waiting for us. We drive 40 minutes to them, to wait, and our baby was given a bed to lay on! They were so attentive, very honest with pricing, let us make the decisions with their advisement. They were able to help us see our fur baby had cancer, we're able to give us medications out the door less than three house with testing and ultrasounds! They also gave us amazing recommendations for oncology! They helped us make him comfortable in the process of getting him help. They also let us know they had suits incase he needed surgery or over night observations, and they had human beds in them, if we wanted to stay with him. If I could give 10 stars I would. We lost our sweet Stella yesterday. She was born with a very restricted airway and has labored to breath her whole life. We were at our vet for her brother when she started hyperventilating. They took her back and got her as stable as they could. I transported her to VEG which was a 5 minute drive. I never broke stride walking through the door to the exam table. In less than 10 seconds there was a team of 8+ people doing absolutely everything that could be done. Intubation, IV, catheter, and more. She went into cardiac arrest and they immediately went into CPR with coordinated rotations and didn't stop for 15 minutes until I asked them to call it. The after care was exceptional letting me spend as much time as I wanted with her in our private room. I wish I would have been in a frame of mind enough to remember names so I could thank each of them here. read more

It's now been almost six months since I took my cat to VEG and they tried to stronghold me into putting her down (an easy way for them to make money). My cat's UTI obviously cleared (within a couple weeks) and she's living her best life right now. I'm so glad I followed my gut instinct to not euthanize her. VEG gave me a partial refund and called to express their apologies, but honestly they should have refunded me entirely for this entire debacle. My lab pup Cooper was having what i thought were seizures. We arrived and were seen right away. Dr. Troye knew immediately after watching my video what he was experiencing, shaking head syndrome, which i knew nothing about but do now thanks to Dr Troye. Complete exam performed , ear infection treated. ( missed by local vet week prior). As with any ER facility not all cases ended as well as ours, tears were shed by many. Such an amazing group of people who work at VEG! I had to bring my little girl, Sophie, and they took such wonderful care of her and me! You can be with your pet the entire time you are at the hospital, which greatly decreases the stress on both you and your fur-baby. They kept Sophie overnight for IV fluids and observation and when I returned the next morning at 7am, I sat with Sophie on a comfy couch while they treated her and even though they were very busy they continually checked on both of us. They are open 24/7 which is great because most emergencies seem to happen at night or on the weekends. I want to give a shout out to Katelin and Whthe employees noticed I had not left to get anything to eat all day so they brought me a plate of food from their staff lounge! So incredibly kind. Sophie was feeling much better and on the mend after such thorough treatment and care. I highly recommend this vet emergency hospital. They made us feel like family read more

For the last couple years VEG has been my saving grace. My dog was fighting cancer and all sorts of side effects to treatments and VEG became our second home, in the last year especially because they are closer than my primary vet and open 24/7. The staff has been absolutely amazing, always greeting me with a smile and my dog with treats and pets. At one point I was going in for daily bandage changes and not once have I had a bad experience. Being in this hospital so many times I also got to witness how the staff works when more emergent patients came in. If you're dealing with a wait here it means someone else's pet may be more important in that very moment, it doesn't mean they're ignoring you or forcing you to wait for no reason. Every single person in this building deserves all the praise, they played a huge part in making my dog's last year less painful and less stressful for the both of us. I can't say enough positive things about how impressed I am with VEG. We brought our pup there the other evening and received excellent care, with me being present with her, or viewing her procedure, the whole way through. From the initial intake to getting x-rays to an ultrasound, to viewing all aspects of her emergency surgery, to staying with her in a special room with a bed for her and a bed for me...everything was done with our comfort in mind. All doctors, Techs, Assistants and staff were kind, genuine, and knew their stuff. Nice staff and they get you right in. Then they hit you with way overpriced services like a $550 single X-Ray that you would pay 1/2 that if you were at a human Doctor. Then you wait hours for results and to be released when they said it would be 30 to 45 minutes. Again nice staff and facilities just be ready to fork over a ton of your hard earned money to help your pet. $850 plus to be sent home with cough suppressant! Ouch!!!! Feel like a sucker after this bad Saturday afternoon. read more
