So it was time for the next step, and take the Defensive Handgun class. Boy was this a step up in difficulty and it was a blast. Things we practiced: -shooting around obstacles - shooting from knees -shooting while laying on our back - shooting one handed -reloading one handed - practice shooting on the move - stamina/speed/endurance/awareness Just like the first time, he's great at explaining the why behind something. I learn best when I understand the logic and the habits build throughout the course, adding a different wrinkle each time and progressing into quite an intense course to run through by the end. I'll be back again with another update after I take the carbine class. Dude is straight up badass.

The instructors are experienced and professional, with no "attitude", and the quality of instruction is the best. You learn solid technique and intense focus, with highly-personal instruction. Instructors watch every student and are constantly providing advice and encouragement. It seemed like I was learning something every couple of minutes. After the range drills, one of the instructors gave a lesson on weapons care and cleaning. Because the Real World Firearms Training staff includes law enforcement and military veterans, they were able to share a practical perspective to make the concepts real. Many people continue to the next level of their training with Real World Firearms Training and I can see why.

He completely drains the fun out of the visit. ​Power-Tripping Range Officers: While I completely understand and respect the absolute necessity of gun safety, the RSOs here cross the line into being flat-out rude. They yell at shooters and treat you like you've never handled a firearm before. ​Zero Urgency: When there is a waitlist, the staff shows absolutely no urgency to get shooters assigned to open tables. ​I've been to many ranges, and this is easily one I would never recommend to anyone. They act like you're using their personal firearms and ammo. I won't be back, and I'll be making sure my friends avoid this place as well.

Rio Salado Sportsman is part of the shooting range and offers a wide variety of instruction. Parking 5/5 Parking was plentiful at the Training Building. Arrived at 8:30 and met members of my Medical & Safety Teams. Training Event 10/5 This is our second Team training event here. Stop the Bleed was our last class. Today's was part of our teams two year CPR & AED re-certification class. The class was taught by Battalion Chief Mark Cichocki. This was an instruction and hands on curriculum using Adult and Infant dummy torsos for the CPR and AED practice. Instructor "Fire Battalion Chief" Mark was outstanding. His years serving in fire and rescue was apparent, his instruction smartly mixed with real world examples was perfect. Mark's delivery style kept things moving and interesting. Value 10/5 $30pp no cert and $60pp for the two year certifications are exceptional price points compared to the big organizations ARC & AHA. Rio Salado sportsman 5/5 Their training center building is large and equipped to handle a wide variety of events and classes. Thank-you Rio Salado Sportsman. From the moment we hopped on the ATVs to the full-on machine gun experience, it felt like we were dropped straight into a real-life video game--except way more fun and way louder. Guys I'm letting you know this guy I've been doing business with him for 13 years and this last two years he has been ripping people off taking their money promising them delivery dates not coming Through. Also he just threatened me that he will kill me and I don't know what I'm talking about after me and three other people giving him $15,000 and now he won't give us our money back he is AK47's are very bad do not fire in the jam and you should see how he builds them. Buyer be aware if you're going to buy from this man do not give him money until he gives you product. I went to a store for weeks ago and I think he used our money to buy a laser machine and a plater machine. Also last Friday he told me he would deliver my product after 6 PM on Friday which was Last Friday. I got so tired that I gave him my clients phone number and then he has the audacity to tell my clients that I have not paid him. In which we have paid him $15,000. Telling people that there is no recording unless given permission by the staff. Then confronts some kids about who gave them permission to record and when they tell him, he says that he is the only one that can give permission. Funny thing was that I was next to the reff that gave those kids permission. I've been going there for years and there is always something with that dude. I think I've had enough of that guys attitude, going somewhere else.
