A worker who we saw preparing something in the window as we were passing by had handed me, my mom, and my dad a sample of almonds with cinnamon sugar on them. Needless to say, they were delicious. We heard about this place having great ice cream on TikTok, so my mom and I were on the hunt for that. We finally found it in the very back of the store. There was a young man/teenager working behind the counter and was super friendly, telling us that the Graham Canyon flavor was "grandpa approved." My mom got a scoop of that and the chocolate raspberry truffle while I got a scoop of the oatmeal cream pie and lemon bar. We really liked the Graham Canyon flavor, but found the raspberry in the chocolate raspberry truffle to be close to nonexistent. It was still a nice chocolate ice cream though. I loved both the oatmeal cream pie and lemon flavor, but I liked the oatmeal cream pie just a little bit more since there were larger chunks of the actual cookie in it. As we devoured our ice creams, we browsed around the store. Awesome staff, service, selection, and products. Definitely stop in here if you get the chance!

Old pawn pieces can be less appealing or even a bit scary to shop for if you are new to Native American jewelry, or if you are looking for modern styling or highly polished pieces. However, while you will find all manner or recognizable styles in old pawn, you just may find one of a kind pieces too. That's the type I like. Another thing about shopping old pawn is that vendors are usually more open to accepting offers. A very nice couple operate this store. Although you will see a sign with the Ortega name at the Galloping Goose just a few shops away, they are not the same owners - they are cousins. Ortega's has been here a while and it surprised me that I had to submit a YELP listing. This is definitely a shop worth visiting.

First of all, we are visiting Arizona because our 19 year old was diagnosed with multiple brain and spine tumors in late September and this is the only break we had to take as a family before we begin a series of tests and treatment over the course of months. Secondly, my husband and I are the type that like to try to support local shops and when we spend time in them, usually buy at least something in support. When we walked into Cleopatra Hill Gift Shop, our 6 year old found a small children's finger puppet book, sat down on the floor, and asked me to read it while his older brothers and father looked around the shop at other souvenirs. I was grateful to finally not be chasing him around asking him not to touch certain items and began happily reading the overpriced 5 paged toddlers book to him. We turned to the last page and I prepared to buy the book for him a a reward for his behavior until I heard the words "You can't finish the book unless you pay for it first." I turned around to see the owner staring directly at my son from behind the counter. She then looked at me, who was just standing there in shock and dumbfounded, not able to tell if she was joking or serious at this point, and then said in a nasty tone to me "Are you deaf?" In turn I asked her if she was joking. Her response was that she wasn't a library. At this point, I absolutely didn't buy the book from her and will make sure I let everyone I know of our experience in her store. My son began crying and I grabbed his hand and we left. I have never been in such shock.

They were all so patient with me and so kind. Easily completed the transaction over the phone, shipping cost next to nothing (I live in the valley) and my new top arrived just 2 days later with a sweet note and my receipt. We discussed our colors schemes, I gave her swatches, and discussed budget during this consult. She was very understanding and very excited about the project, and so were we! She kept explaining how she understands everyones budget, and told me that she likes to keep constant communication during the process, especially because we are out of state. We signed the contract, I sent her even more inspiration photos, pinterest boards, and off we went. A few months later she states that she will have the flowers done by April, we were so excited. I kept seeing her interact with my pinterest boards, and I reached out to give her small updates/photos from time to time. She kept stating that she was working on stuff. We were so ahead of schedule I wasn't worried about anything at this point. Now comes July. I haven't heard from her in months (as she prided herself on her communication during our consult) and I reach out to her, sending more photos of things I liked. and she states she hasn't even started the flowers (again, we are ahead of schedule, I am not upset at all that they are not done yet). And then she starts asking me for inspiration photos again, and color schemes, things that have been well established, and I thought well communicated on our end because I kept reaching out. She then loses her mind on me, berating me about how things have changes and she has already ordered stuff that won't work anymore. When she sends me the photos of what she had bought, I told her the product was great and it would work for what we wanted. 1. Why did you not confirm the stuff you ordered with me first, like you prided yourself on doing during our consultation? 2. Why are you freaking out on me?! She then tells me that I am the problem, and that I have been stressing her out because I clearly don't trust her because I keep texting her, and its all my fault because my budget was so "low" she had to buy garbage flowers to make things work. Your contract specifically states that you will work with any budget, and we talked about the budget in detail at the consultation, we even told her the budget was flexible! Why is this a problem? And why are you shaming me for it? A few hours later after her freak out she cancels our order. Telling us we are the problem and that I should find someone in my state because I couldn't trust her. Which is absolutely not true. I tried to uphold my end of communication and my end of the contract, and she did not uphold hers, neglecting communication and respect. We are very disappointed that this had to end this way, we were so excited for what she was going to come up with, as she does great work. I think her business is too much to handle at this moment, and she wants to put the blame and stress on others. As a bride, I shouldn't have to talk a florist off the ledge. We wish her the best, but please take this lonnnng review in stride, and make sure you have clear and impeccable communication as she promises, or your order could end up like mine
