*FOR THE PICKLEBALL COURTS ONLY* This review is only for my experience as a spectator for a pickleball tournament. I saw the other reviews about difficult parking for the OTHER sports and I would agree, as I had to pass by that parking lot in order to get to the pickleball courts. It was packed. But if you're just there for a pickleball tournament it's not bad at all (I don't know what it's like when there is no tournament) I parked at the dirt lot directly across the courts. $8 day pass, just scan QR code of one of the signs they have on the walk to the courts. No issues getting in or out as it's further away from the other sports. There are SO MANY PICKLEBALL COURTS. There are also concession stands that sells food and drinks I think a Powerade was $4. It was well staffed and everyone was friendly and helpful. Not pictured, but there are also some courts with bleachers, and another colosseum style pickleball court. The food court/walkway in the main area is cool, but not a lot of food to choose from. There were other tournaments going on, so some food items were wiped out. There is a restaurant called Bristol's, a pizza/ice cream/soda shop, and Wetzel's Pretzels. Bristol's has a sit down area, and a walk up and order patio area, and a mini "convenience store." There is a microwave and coffee, tea, soda, and fridges with quick bites. I am curious as to what these pickleball courts are usually used for regularly (open play?) ! I had fun supporting my friends all day. Clean bathroom, amenities, and an amazing infrastructure.

2025 United States Filipino Basketball Associations tournament 8/2 & 8/3.
Rolly U.

Reflecting on an Unforgettable Weekend (August 2 & 3,2025): Hosting One of the Largest Filipino Basketball Tournaments in Arizona. I had the incredible honor and responsibility of hosting one of the biggest Filipino basketball tournaments ever held in our area--and I'm still processing just how special it was. From the moment planning began, I knew this event was going to be something truly unique. We weren't just organizing a tournament--we were creating a space for community, culture, and competition to thrive. The goal was simple but powerful: bring together players, families, and fans from all over to celebrate our shared love for the game and our Filipino roots. A massive thank you to Cason, whose partnership was nothing short of phenomenal throughout every phase of this project. From the early stages of planning to the very last game buzzer, Cason was there every step of the way. His commitment to excellence, calm under pressure, and ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently made all the difference. On event day, communication was seamless, logistics were smooth, and the vibe was positive and professional--thanks to his dedication and support. Truly couldn't have pulled this off without you, Cason! Let's talk about the facility--because WOW. With 16 full-size basketball courts under one roof, this venue was absolutely built for an event of this magnitude. From the moment people walked in, you could see the amazement on their faces. The layout, the lighting, the organization, the space--it all helped elevate the tournament to a whole new level. Coaches, parents, players, and fans all shared the same sentiment: "This place is unbelievable." Over the course of the event, we hosted 96 teams, representing different cities in the USA and Canada. The energy in the building was electric. Every court was buzzing with intensity, skill, and passion. But beyond the competition, what stood out most was the sense of community. Old friends reconnecting. Families cheering side by side. Coaches mentoring. Kids dreaming big. Basketball has always been more than just a sport in the Filipino community--it's a shared language, a cultural cornerstone, and a point of pride. To see so many people come together around this game, united by heritage and heart, was deeply moving. This tournament wasn't just about wins and losses--it was about representation, connection, and celebration. I'm beyond proud of what we accomplished, and even more excited for what lies ahead. If this event proved anything, it's that our community is strong, passionate, and capable of creating something truly special when we come together.

They claim they don't look up your personal information, then how did I get this letter in the mail?
Daniel D.

Edit: their response below claimed they don't look up personal information from the State of AZ. Well then how did they get my personal information to send a demand letter? I have attached the letter for proof. ---- This place runs a fraudulent parking operation. As a result of several families having various issues related to the staff and/or parking issues in the past month, our teams refuse to play at these fields in the future. They have nice soccer fields but everything else is poorly run. Parking has been an issue since it opened, sometimes taking 30+ minutes to exit due to the poor traffic design and refusal to hire staff to assist with traffic flow. We all know how bad parking here can be and already try to avoid this place. But this week I received a parking collection notice for the 1 time I drove my truck to drop off my kids for a game. I did not park! Somehow, they were able to illegally obtain my name and address from the AZMVD. This also happened to another parent on the team. We will now be taking a close look at ARS 28-455 laws and inquiring about how this private business was able to access personally identifiable information from the State of AZ for a minor parking ticket, on private property, with no court order. My guess is they use a license plate scanner to cross reference those who have paid or not and scan everyone in the drop off line. This is unethical and fraudulent in my opinion.

These are the grip VB courts love them

Arizona Athletic Ground Insider Scoop: Making the Most of Your Visit The reviews were mixed, leaning more on the unfavorable side, so when I heard that our volleyball tournament would be hosted here for three days, my expectations were low. But then I thought, What would I want to know ahead of time to turn a potentially frustrating experience into a smooth and enjoyable one? Four tournaments were in full swing during our visit: court volleyball, beach volleyball, soccer, and baseball. After navigating this sprawling facility as a 3-day volleyball mom, here's your Top 14 Insider Scoop to make your time at the Arizona Athletic Ground (AAG) a win: 1. PARKING PRO-TIPS I arrived at 7 AM each day to a parking frenzy. My solution? Park near the soccer courts and walk through the grassy area to the volleyball courts. Early birds will thank me for this hack, but by 9 AM, dirt parking opens up if you're a little late. 2. FOOD TRUCK STRATEGY Day one, I made the rookie mistake of waiting an hour for coffee in the AAG food court line. Day two, I hit the coffee truck by the soccer field--quick and efficient. Pro tip: Despite the "no outside coffee" sign, no one stopped me from bringing my own cup into the volleyball courts. 3. REJUVENATION ZONES This facility has plenty of space to recharge between games. Here's how I spent my downtime: *Ran the bleachers (cardio, check!) *Strolled around the scenic soccer fields (about 2 miles of walking bliss) *Relaxed in the grassy area with a snack *Soaked up some sun *Reserved a pickleball court (some parents even brought their own gear). 4. CHAIR HACK No outside chairs are allowed, but my trusty lightweight foldable stool fit the bill. While I had no issues, I can't guarantee everyone will have the same luck--so keep it discreet. 5. BEWARE OF FLYING VOLLEYBALLS There are no barriers between courts, so there's a 75% chance you'll get hit by a rogue volleyball. It wouldn't hurt for the facility to invest in safety screens for spectators. 6. BLEACHER SURVIVAL GEAR Aluminum bleachers are rough on your back and backside. Bring a cushion or bleacher chair if you value your comfort. 7. DRESS IN LAYERS It's chilly inside and out--think coats, scarves, and even gloves (yes, I brought my mink gloves). Don't underestimate Arizona's fluctuating temperatures. 8. PREPAY ONLINE Save yourself the hassle and prepay for your tickets. Trust me, it's not worth scrambling at the entrance. 9. WRISTBAND WISDOM If you're attending multiple days, keep your wristband in a safe spot. It's non-replaceable, but it does allow in-and-out privileges for both parking and the facility. 10. SECRET CHILL SPOT The couches near the entrance hallway were a hidden gem. Quiet, uncrowded, and perfect for resting, whether you're solo, with a group, or accompanying elderly family members. 11. WI-FI VS. CELL SIGNAL The free Wi-Fi worked like a charm, but my AT&T signal was useless. Plan accordingly if you need to stay connected. 12. HIDDEN BATHROOMS AND SEATING The main AAG hall has bathrooms and ample seating, which many people seemed to overlook. Don't hesitate to take advantage of these lesser-used areas. 13. SOCCER PARENT TIPS If you're here for soccer, note that bathroom access varies depending on the field's location. It's manageable unless you have mobility challenges. Bring a wide-brimmed hat or an umbrella for shade. My foldable backpacking chair was also a lifesaver on the field. 14. FOOD OPTIONS GALORE With so many food trucks and vendors, I skipped the indoor concessions entirely. There's even a full restaurant serving beer, and water bottle refills are allowed. My favorite? The fresh-cut fries topped with barbecue brisket from one of the food trucks--absolutely delicious. 15. WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBILITY SCORE Getting around the facilityin and out of doors & bathrooms =100% Watching any volleyball game 0%. I would not have a wheelchair or a walker or motorized scooter anywhere on the court VB. It's dangerous and someone will get hurt. The stadium has limited seating for wheelchairs or motorized scooters. A FEW EXTRAS Cashless Transactions: Bring your card, but gratuities can still be given in cash. Bathrooms: Accessible and plentiful, except for some soccer fields that require a bit of a walk. FINAL THOUGHTS I came in expecting chaos and left thoroughly impressed. The Arizona Athletic Ground is a beautiful, well-designed facility that manages to blend into Arizona's natural landscape seamlessly. From the volume of courts to the thoughtful open spaces, it's clear this venue was built with care. While I wish the bleachers were made of concrete (your back and behind would agree), the AAG earns high marks for its versatility, natural beauty, and abundance of amenities. With these tips in your back pocket, your visit to the Arizona Athletic Ground is sure to be a success.

Very nice, they charge for parking and entrance lookout ! I would say it's good but not my favorite to pay to watch my child I already paid for to play here I get to pay to support her after I supported ASC fees for tournaments and then extras...

View of the volleyball building (the one you can barely see on the right in the back) from my parking spot.
Diane V.

I went to this venue today to watch my grandson play volleyball. I arrived around 8:40 am thinking I was there early enough to park and get to the court by 9am. as I had purchased my ticket and parking pass online. No such luck! I was in a line to enter the overflow parking lot using the one open entrance for 1 hour! Then it took me 1/2 hour to walk from my parking spot to the volleyball building. I included a photo of the volleyball building from my parking spot so you can see just how far away I had to park. It was easily 1/2 mile or more. The volleyball building is the one you can barely see on the right in the background. I missed his first two games. This place ridiculously overbooked these facilities, making it impossible to enjoy the experience. There were basketball, volleyball, marshall arts and softball tournaments going on, and probably some more sports that I didn't see. Once I finally got inside, there was nowhere to sit, and the lines for food and drinks were insanely long. My grandson, daughter and I stood in line to buy pretzels and then found an empty corner where we sat on the floor to eat them. Really?! These kids are athletes - they shouldn't have to sit on the floor to eat between games. I don't know what the capacity of this building is supposed to be but I'm confident that it was exceeded by quite a bit! Maybe the Fire Marshall should make an unannounced visit. The owners of this venue clearly prioritized making money over providing a high quality experience for their guests.

Great venue for pickleball nationals. Lots of courts. Clean bathrooms. Only drawback was limited food options.

After parking in their complimentary lot without any issues, I checked in at the front desk. You can work out in a bunch of different ways at the Village: standard fitness equipment, classes, basketball, swimming, racquetball, and more. With that being said, they're known for tennis. While I don't know exactly how many courts they have, I'd venture to guess over 20. They're all outside... I don't understand why they don't have at least one or two inside given how hot it is in Phoenix. Which is why we decided to play at 8 p.m. When you're playing, you have the Papago mountains in the background which makes for a picturesque experience. The courts are well maintained, there are shaded seats, wet towels, and water jugs. All of this is a nice touch. You can also rent ball machines if you're practicing solo. The courts weren't busy since it was a Sunday, late, and it was during the summer, but if the weather is nice and it's a weekend, expect the courts to be packed. You can reserve a court to be safe. After working out, I showered at the facility. I was impressed here too. The showers are a good size, you have saunas, hot tubs, steam rooms, and an area to chill with comfortable seating. You don't have to bring toiletries because they basically have everything you would need: soap, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, after shave, shaving cream, combs, q-tips, etc. Talk about convenience. For all of the amenities, you are going to pay a premium. More expensive than places like Mountainside Fitness. At least in my mind, it's only work it if you go several times a week. Or if you're interested in tennis especially. You can also take lessons for an additional charge. The staff I interacted with, though limited, was pleasant.

I don't know anyone in this club...and I don't kiss up. We simply aren't at the level where that would be helpful. Despite that, every single coach we have had has been impeccably skilled and developmentally on-point. This is coming from a 20+ year educator who has also been a varsity coach. Every coach here has honored my daughter as a person and attempted to cultivate her unrealized potential. She LOVES Rev. In sum, we drive 60+ minutes, each way, DURING RUSH HOUR, to participate in what Rev has to offer. We have tried clubs closer to home. The truth is that the quality of coaching and instruction at Rev is above-and-beyond anything else. Period. They make you sign the contract on a rush and after you pay 5k+ they tell your their rules. my daughter was o ln the lower level team and to be honest I think the director doesn't even care about those teams just the top teams. 13 girls for one team, two inexperienced twenty year old coaches, favoritism, when the team was loosing coaches were just sitting on the bench, some of the players were undisciplined and they didn't do anything to fix the problem and curiously the girls with Hispanic last name were the ones left behind sometimes they didn't even get to play a minute on a tournament day. My advice is if your daughter is a top player this club is probably the place to be but if you want your daughter to develop and improve you should use that amount for strength and conditioning and skills trainings she'll learn more doing that or take her to another club. My daughter was very exited entering at this club and she ended up not wanting to participate on the last tournament (450 dollars extra) which wasn't covered by the initial amount. I reached out to the director and she didn't take the time to have a meeting because she was "busy" traveling with a team instead she sent the same two coaches to talk to me and nothing changed.

SDFC members can sponsor someone else for $10 per visit or $45 for five visits through guest passes. I also find myself at different events, most often at the Tempe SDFC. This past week was the annual Vendor Fair, which ASU staff who work most closely with vendors (food and products) and hotels will come to the SDFC and attend a fair in one of the gyms. I have been to conference events, department team-building days, student organization events, and much more on all four campuses. Compared to many other universities, all four of the SDFC locations are state of the art and really set up students to be healthy. I certainly recommend SDFC membership to all ASU students, staff, faculty, and alumni!

I spoke with Coach Rizzo on several occasions about it, and he kept trying to push us to the summer camp group sessions, which I made clear I did not want. After the first lesson, Coach Rizzo suggested we join the group sessions, which I took to mean in addition to the private lessons. Yesterday, we showed up for lesson #2, and Coach Rizzo was not there. When I texted him, he said he transferred us to the group sessions in lieu of private lessons, and when I objected and requested a refund, he said they don't issue refunds. So, it was a bait and switch, and I'm out hundreds of dollars. Their website says they offer private soccer lessons, but only if your child is good enough, apparently, yet they will gladly take your money and provide nothing in return. It should be noted we did attend a trail group session before registering AND PAYING FOR private lessons and then a group session after the first private lessons. We were less than impressed. The teenage coaches kept the kids in a tiny practice space, no even large enough to run in, and did extremely basic drills. (My son is 13 and has been playing recreational soccer for years.) My son was bored and not at all challenged. I do not recommend this organization.

I appreciate how difficult it can be to admit when you're wrong and he took accountability for the way he acted toward me. Paul offered me a refund, which I gladly accepted. I told him I understood that insurance and jersey's had been paid and I didn't want him to lose money either so we settled on a refund less the insurance and jersey price...which I feel is fair to both parties. Paul also told me that the jersey and insurance credit would be left in a NYS account for future use if we choose to try again in the future. I appreciated the phone call and email and I feel NYS and Paul made a very difficult situation a little less difficult. I still don't think we will be back to NYS as our experience doesn't seem feasible for a family with more than 1 kiddo playing... but the door is left open. ORIGINAL: If I could give them 0 stars I would. I called and spoke with Paul who runs NYS "National Youth Sports" (there is no national franchise of this that we can find), and I asked questions regarding scheduling of practices and games. He explained that practices are left up to the coaches to decide, but he determines game times and location. At that time he couldn't provide when and where the games would be, but he didn't anticipate scheduling/location conflicts for my three kids. 2/3 kids practice times were scheduled on Tuesdays/Thursdays at 6:00, the other Wednesday/Friday 7:00-8:00 each 20 minutes from our house, however I was willing to accept this and found help to get my kids to and from a practice each week. However, Paul scheduled my kids at locations 20 minutes apart from each other back to back. There is no chance my kids could play in the games weekly since I cannot be two places at once. He was fully aware of my concern regarding game times and assured me he didn't think it would be an issue and gladly took my money. He lied knowing he had "No Refunds" on his website and I would be out my money. He also said he could not accommodate a disclosure on his website for "single moms" like me who have multiple kids and would need the children playing at one location, not all over the valley. The league is disorganized, lies, frauds people out of their money with the "No Refunds" statement on their website, allows them to lie and steal and get away with it. NYS = Now Your Screwed

This is a great place to train: high-quality instruction and a nice variety of classes (gi and no…read moregi jiu-jitsu are the staples, but there are wrestling, judo, and self-defense classes, too, as well as strength and conditioning, weightlifting, and yoga). There are actually two mats in use in the evenings to accommodate different skill levels. Best of all, there's a really good vibe-people are friendly and really want to help each other learn. I've been mostly taking the morning classes with Jonathan Van Buren, who is an amazing grappler and winner of Fight To Win's 2017 Submission of the Year award for a sick barataplata. He's an incredibly accomplished competitor at a very high level; his matches on FloGrappling or a quick Google search will lead you right to videos of some of his matches so you can see for yourself. As with any skill or sport, sometimes some of the best practitioners aren't always the best instructors. JVB manages to excel at both. I am consistently impressed by the level of detail in his instruction as well as his ability to pinpoint specific areas for improvement with scalpel-like precision. I'm not the most consistent BJJ practitioner and have been known to take extensive time off when life, work, or injuries get in the way. But JVB is always incredibly warm and welcoming, and willing to spend as much time with a brand new student struggling with a basic warmup as he is working with high-level competitors on sharpening their skills. I'm really happy to be able to learn from him and to be part of this team.

We appreciate the tactful and efficient coaching styles. Their focus on precise technique and…read morethoughtful guidance makes learning both challenging and enjoyable. Highly recommend for anyone looking to improve their skills in a supportive environment.
