Been there several times since it opened 2 weeks ago…read more I have experienced nothing but friendly people. They just opened at the beginning of the month...so the few glitches in the system is not a surprise. They are adding classes all the time but the demand is high. I think this is due to just newly opening Did the Mother's Day massage and facial. Maria was amazing! I have taken a cycling class called Amp. Good class higher intensity Can't wait for the new classes coming I also went to a Dynamic Stretch session. Wow. Noticed a difference in my squat within the hour. Day pass pricing at the Gilbert location is $50 for adults and $30 for children, which feels high for what's offered. In the family locker room, several lockers were not functioning properly. Assistance was requested, and it was mentioned that the locker selected was already known to be broken, though it didn't appear to be marked or addressed to prevent the same issue for others. The pool area felt underwhelming and quiet. The hot tub is restricted to ages 12 and up, which may be limiting for families with younger children. Overall, staff interactions felt minimal and the environment wasn't particularly welcoming or engaging.

We LOVE Rev!!! This club went WAY out of its way to begin working with my daughter when she was…read moreonly 6. Now she's 10, and the skills she's developed over the years have built her into a player comfortable playing with girls in 7th/8th grade. This investment in building up players from a young age shows a commitment to building strong players over the long-haul...and a true love for the sport. I don't know anyone in this club...and I don't kiss up. We simply aren't at the level where that would be helpful. Despite that, every single coach we have had has been impeccably skilled and developmentally on-point. This is coming from a 20+ year educator who has also been a varsity coach. Every coach here has honored my daughter as a person and attempted to cultivate her unrealized potential. She LOVES Rev. In sum, we drive 60+ minutes, each way, DURING RUSH HOUR, to participate in what Rev has to offer. We have tried clubs closer to home. The truth is that the quality of coaching and instruction at Rev is above-and-beyond anything else. Period. Additionally, I would drive 2 hours each way to avail my daughter of the positive peer culture and sense of 'team' cultivated by Rev. This place is the REAL DEAL.

This club is well organized to grab your money. We had a bad experience firs of all my daughter…read morewasn't the best or worst on the team but the two coaches failed to develop not only my daughter but some of the girls on the team. They make you sign the contract on a rush and after you pay 5k+ they tell your their rules. my daughter was o ln the lower level team and to be honest I think the director doesn't even care about those teams just the top teams. 13 girls for one team, two inexperienced twenty year old coaches, favoritism, when the team was loosing coaches were just sitting on the bench, some of the players were undisciplined and they didn't do anything to fix the problem and curiously the girls with Hispanic last name were the ones left behind sometimes they didn't even get to play a minute on a tournament day. My advice is if your daughter is a top player this club is probably the place to be but if you want your daughter to develop and improve you should use that amount for strength and conditioning and skills trainings she'll learn more doing that or take her to another club. My daughter was very exited entering at this club and she ended up not wanting to participate on the last tournament (450 dollars extra) which wasn't covered by the initial amount. I reached out to the director and she didn't take the time to have a meeting because she was "busy" traveling with a team instead she sent the same two coaches to talk to me and nothing changed.

Both employees (Liz and I can't remember the guys name) were great and so helpful. Liz took the time to make sure his helmet was fitting correctly being so sweet and gentle. I know it's normal for them just doing their jobs but I truly appreciate how easy they made it and the role they played in him being safely prepared to go out on the field. Thank you!

I bought a new helmet, and used shoulder pads. Not even a month later the strap to the shoulder pads broke off. I brought them in, it appeared like the straps had been replaced before. While each location differs in offerings and size, each location also offers something unique to the ASU community. While I've been in all locations, I often go to events most often at the Tempe Campus (which is what I was doing last week though the campus I go to work out at or for work in general is the West Valley Campus. Regardless of campus, all of the SDFC locations have well-trained student staff and professional staff who care about fitness and helping others be Well Devils. The SDFC fitness training options include group wellness, personal training, swim lessons, lifeguard training, safety education, and adaptive recreation. Sports programs include sports clubs and intramural sports. Note that some of these options and programs may have extra costs associated with them. The Tempe SDFC amenities include the Bike Co-Op, Sun Devil Kids Camp, Shake Smart, Equipment Rental, and Locker Rental. It has been many years since I have taken part in personal training at the SDFC, though I have a faculty/staff membership currently and have used this location (and the Downtown and West Valley Campus locations) for working out and using the treadmills, bikes, walking, and using the weight machines. All ASU in-person students pay a fee that includes membership to the SDFC. Non-fee paying students can get a SDFC membership for $100 per semester or $25 per month. Faculty and staff can pay $110 per semester for membership and pay through payroll deduction. ASU affiliates (alumni, ASU contractors, and students attending other colleges or universities) can pay $130 per semester for membership. SDFC members can sponsor someone else for $10 per visit or $45 for five visits through guest passes. I also find myself at different events, most often at the Tempe SDFC. This past week was the annual Vendor Fair, which ASU staff who work most closely with vendors (food and products) and hotels will come to the SDFC and attend a fair in one of the gyms. I have been to conference events, department team-building days, student organization events, and much more on all four campuses. Compared to many other universities, all four of the SDFC locations are state of the art and really set up students to be healthy. I certainly recommend SDFC membership to all ASU students, staff, faculty, and alumni!

I contacted Arizona Soccer Skills Academy because my son was begging me for private soccer lessons…read moreover the summer. I spoke with Coach Rizzo on several occasions about it, and he kept trying to push us to the summer camp group sessions, which I made clear I did not want. Eventually, Coach Rizzo agreed to private lessons, and I registered and paid the $414 for 6 weekly lessons. After the first lesson, Coach Rizzo suggested we join the group sessions, which I took to mean in addition to the private lessons. Yesterday, we showed up for lesson #2, and Coach Rizzo was not there. When I texted him, he said he transferred us to the group sessions in lieu of private lessons, and when I objected and requested a refund, he said they don't issue refunds. So, it was a bait and switch, and I'm out hundreds of dollars. Their website says they offer private soccer lessons, but only if your child is good enough, apparently, yet they will gladly take your money and provide nothing in return. It should be noted we did attend a trail group session before registering AND PAYING FOR private lessons and then a group session after the first private lessons. We were less than impressed. The teenage coaches kept the kids in a tiny practice space, no even large enough to run in, and did extremely basic drills. (My son is 13 and has been playing recreational soccer for years.) My son was bored and not at all challenged. I do not recommend this organization.

My experience of mistreatment and injury For context, I have…read moremy blue belt in BJJ, so the martial art is not new to me. I am more than a beginner but certainly not an expert. I am also aware that injuries happen, it's a martial art after all. However, I am also aware that experienced black belt instructors are not supposed to be reckless and hurt students. I am writing this review to warn others about the conduct I experienced at this gym. Conduct that appeared to me to be condoned and enabled by others. During my very first time rolling with Coach Ramsey Green, my clavicle was snapped into 3 pieces and I had to have surgery the next week to install a metal plate and 10 screws. This injury occurred less than a minute into the rolling session, which is normally about 5 minutes. When at his first two attempts he could not take me down, I sensed he lost his temper and became frustrated. He then aggressively took me down on my side and SLAMMED his body weight onto my opposite shoulder, causing serious injury. This is a ridiculous display of immaturity and ego that this gym claims to be against. Never in my 3+ years training in BJJ have I dealt with a coach so blatantly immature and aggressive. After getting home from the ER, I called the women's black belt coach, who happened to be there at the time of incident, to update her. During this call, she admitted that she had concerns about Ramsey herself, but was afraid to take them to anyone. She would jokingly say things like everyone has a "Ramsey arm" from being arm-barred too aggressively. And that Ramsey would have "revenge rolls" with others in class if he felt he didn't beat them on a previous roll. All this told me that his behavior was being enabled at least by her, and very likely the owner and other instructors as well. When I told the owner, Paul Nava, what happened, he made no efforts to assure me something like this would not happen at his gym again. There was no offer of support in any way and no offer of action to prevent this from happening again. His response was that Ramsey was given a "talking to." Whatever that meant, it certainly did not mean he was suspended from teaching in any way. To my second point: this gym boasts that they are all about supporting women in BJJ, however, when I brought the concerns to the women in a WhatsApp chat, I was immediately blocked from it. It became very clear to me that they were going to protect him and his reputation, not validate any of my concerns. I absolutely love BJJ with a passion, and I will not allow one reckless instructor to prevent me from continuing to train, but I will never train here again and I do not recommend it to anyone else. Sadly, I really enjoyed training here initially and thought I had made friends, but their response to my injury was a complete betrayal of my trust and extremely hurtful. If you are looking to train in BJJ, find a good gym that makes safety a priority, and does not just look the other way when a student is seriously injured. The very least a gym can do is to ensure that every student, no matter what rank, is practicing in a safe environment.
