Having only been to one of the Mesa community pools-slash-aquatic centers, I can't really judge…read morethis against anything else. So I can only relate my experience here and let it stand for itself. This is a former junior high, turned into a recreation complex. The pool itself is really three pools--one is the kiddie section with a sloped beach entrance and a tower with buckets that fill up and dump out water sporadically. There's a small slide for the wee ones, in the shape of a frog. The kidlets slide down the frog's tongue and giggle and squeal. Then at the other end is the diving area. Two lower diving boards and a high dive. Not so high, but high enough that every so often a kid will get up there and wuss out. I've done it once as a 10-year-old, so no judgments from me. The other pool is the landing area for the waterslides. Two small ones--big enough that there are height restrictions, but not like a waterpark kind of slide. Just enough that the younguns will have something to break up the simple pool bobbing. There are a few lap swim lanes, and there are bleachers on the north side with shade, so I'm guessing there are probably swim meets here? Then you've got one big pavilion with cement and a large umbrella with grass. Pull your chairs in and hunker down. There's also a small area with tables for your snack needs. The facility is nice. The pool is nice. The bathrooms/changing rooms area little nappy--but that's their design. Concrete floor and a trough of dribbles and drips under the urinals. Other than that, the lobby serves its purpose and is indeed air conditioned.

I previously left a VERY ACCURATE REVIEW about these atrocious hairballs 11 months ago. These hairballs are in my nightmares. The scalp pieces connected on the hairballs are yellow and make you GAG. I was doing my peaceful breastroke swimming and holding my mouth shut. Hoping I wouldn't CHOKE and/or SWALLOW a VIOLATION OF SAFETY CODE PIECE OF SCALP. Great facility!…read more Chandler is the other side of the Valley from me, but since this year's Tri For The Cure took place at Arrowhead Pool and Park, I was able to check it out today for the event. I loved that it was so easy to get to (just over a mile off of the 101 from the Chandler Blvd exit)... The pool has 8 lanes that are 50 meters in length plus the deep end/diving area (seen in the photo). The facility has plenty of restrooms, changing rooms, etc... and it's located right in the middle of the beautiful Arrowhead Park - it was a fantastic venue for the Triathlon. Despite the event running an hour and a half behind schedule, it was a ton of fun and ran smoothly once we started. We enjoyed watching the youth event - it's amazing how many kids participated! They were so cute! I recommend both the event as well as this facility depending on your goals and where in the Valley you live. Thanks to the City of Chandler for hosting this amazing event, and for all of the volunteers that helped out along the way! Congrats to all of those that competed today as well!

I never knew it was there until I did a search on yelp & the internet for swimming pools. Secondly, this place is HUGE and NOT crowded! Two entirely seperate swimming areas! One for the kids, with zero level entry, a water slide and a lazy river. The "adult" side of the pool is entirely seperate, and Olympic sized! Holy Moly! Diving boards, swimming lanes, a basketball hoop and TONS of room to move around in. This place, for once, has ample seating! Tons of chairs! Never a problem to find a place to lay out here! Covered seating is also available as well. Locker rooms are large and plentiful, with lots of toilets, showers, changing areas and lockers for 25 cents. I will go out of my way to swim here. $2.25 for adults, and kids are much less. Go check this place out!

I had scheduled a swim class for a private lesson and they did…read morenot add it to the schedule and booked someone else and took my son out of class 5 minutes into his session. Not once did manager apologize to me or my son they simply said your son wasn't on the schedule and this child was. Audrey is the person who spoke with and suddenly unavailable during this conversation. They clearly double book that session but declined to admit an error. The worst experience ever when returning to this location.

It was solid, personable, and coaches actually enjoyed and cared for the kids growth. Fast forward to now, our oldest (8), middle child (4), and our youngest (2) have been loyal to this company for a long time. The facility was OK, we stayed because of the young coaches that taught our kids, also we don't like change in general . Since it was bought out from SafeSplash, we saw a decline in students, the vibes are off from the coaches, the parents/kids. The management cares more about the tasks not actually care of each kid. The new swim curriculum is weird and I don't see any improvement from my 2 and 4 year old boys compared to my 8 year old when he started with aqua Safe's curriculum. Finally, I don't recommend it this place anymore. It used to be awesome for the kids but now they're more focus on making money vs kids growth in swim. We're currently at Swimhaus Swim School and it's been amazing. Family local owned, which is huge plus for us!!

The staff is so friendly. There is a large changing area with separate bathrooms, there are blow dryers available, and also a swim suit drying machine!! The swim suit dryer was very impressive!! They have a very comfortable sitting area for family to sit and watch their child in class without having to sit in a stuffy, hot / humid pool room... Instead, parents can kick back in a comfortable chair in the air conditioning. As a bonus- They offer complimentary water and snacks for the students & parents. We love Aqua Tots! I highly recommend to anyone!

We had our daughter here for only a few months and had a few bad experiences. The reason we ended…read moreup canceling our membership was because of our last session, my almost 5 year old daughter was in her lesson when I looked down for one minute and looked up and she was crying and standing on the step looking at me while the instructor was with another child. I got up right away and ended up walking into the pool area to help her because the instructor was with the other child in her group. The instructor didn't say she saw anything. My daughter cried the whole way home and had a hard time calming down. She never wanted to go again but couldn't tell me what exactly happened. We canceled since we weren't going to force her to go. Well, a month later swim lessons got brought up and she just now told me that she didn't wanna go back to swim lessons because she almost drowned in the water. She said she went under water and couldn't find the wall. I am writing this review now to warn parents please don't take your child here if you are serious about teaching them to swim. It's not worth it and the groups are too big for them to learn anything anyway and the way they just have the other kids sit by the wall while the instructor is with one child at a time just seems unsafe.

She can now swim in the deep end, swim all the way to the bottom to retrieve sinking toys, swim back up to the surface, and make her way over to the ledge. She's still learning, of course, but she has a really good foundation of swimming skills now, and I feel SO much more confident in her being around the water. What I really love is that Hailey actually looks forward to her swim classes. The class sizes are small, and the instructors do a great job of communicating with me about her progress--what she's accomplished, what skills she's working on, and what she still needs to learn. I never feel like I'm left wondering how she's doing. And honestly, the entire staff is just so friendly. Every time we walk in, someone is saying hi and smiling, and there's always such a positive atmosphere. Even the manager is out in the lobby playing games with the kids while they wait. He definitely doesn't have to do that, but he does it anyway because he's just a cool dude. Little things like that really stand out to me and make Big Blue feel like a place where the staff genuinely enjoys being around the kids. We've had nothing but good experiences here. Between the small classes, great communication, friendly staff, and how much Hailey has grown as a swimmer, I really can't recommend Big Blue enough. Facility is very clean and obviously kid friendly. The reception area is nice with some other fun activities for kids to get into while their sibling or other family member is taking a swim class. 2. Instructors are pretty decent. The instructors we've had so far for my 7 month old's class have been quite impressive and really know how to handle babies and how to make the class fun but also progress in their pool safety training. My son really enjoys his class with his Coach Ethan. That kid definitely knows how to make a class fun and inviting for toddlers. 3. Classes are very intimate as they don't go over 3 kids per class. My son has had mostly private classes lately as other kids have not really joined his time slot, which is wonderful in my opinion so he gets that 1x1 coaching. 4. The ease of scheduling via their app and their text messaging system. Very responsive!
